Oh, Dee.... :o It sounds like it was a good idea  to move the MH, because of the rain, but sorry about the ladder. I can understand the bad feelings. Hopefully a good replacement ladder can be found. :D

I ACCIDENTALLY HIT "SUBMIT" INSTEAD OF COLOR!   I'm "editing" now! ;)

Kathryn, I'm glad you don't have pain daily, too. :D I know how much of a blessing a pain-free day is.

MT, I hope you continue to heal.

It's been raining, here, too, but it's letting up now. I've s2s, shampooed, sheets are bleaching and so yellow; both sets. We "NEED" to buy new sheets. The current ones are so O-L-D! :!:

I have a spider bite on my upper left chest, where a bra strap would go. It looks "bad", to me. I put antibiotic ointment, which is a prescription, from another infection I'd had in my groin, earlier this year, and put a band-aid over it. I'll keep an "eye" on it, as don't "need" to get an infection, when my Dr. is out of the office this week. :!:

Today, is the day that DH takes his blood sugar, every 90 minutes. I'm in the bathroom, getting dressed, I hear a "ding", then nothing. DH is on the sofa, in his robe, without his hearing aids. I come to the doorway, with only myself dressed from the waist up, (thank God we live where nobody can see us and the nearest neighbor's 1/4 mile away), :!: and said, "WHAT'S that DINGING????" DH says, "WHAT dinging?" He looks at me like I've lost my ever-living MIND!  I say, "THAT DING! Is it the oven timer????" He gets up, runs to the kitchen and admits, he couldn't hear the timer, without his hearing aids, from the sofa. So it takes a bottomless wife, running from the master bathroom, all the way into the kitchen to solve her problem. I honestly thought I was hearing things, but as I got closer, I just "knew" it was REAL. DH said the timer on the little drug study clock, the drug co. gave him, is so complicated to figure out. I asked him, why doesn't he test it out, but use the over timer as back-up? He's not supposed to eat sweets today, he's not supposed to exercise or do anything too strenuous, so what did he do? He stripped the bed sheets off the bed, which, to me, IS strenuous, and took them to the utility room laundry basket. He needs to take the garbage up, too. He says that's not too strenuous, but for me, to handle a full garbage can in and out of a truck bed, it would be. So it's an "interesting" day here.

I did my ankle PT exercises, have sheets bleaching, and am almost ready to take a break (when my timer goes off), to run and elevate again. My right ankle is "misbehaving". It's an on-going "thing". Elevating helps. Also, if I don't dance, it'll be fine.

Waving to RR, MT, Twins' Mom, and anyone else who comes after me, too. Have a great Wet Wednesday. Some flooding happened, 4-feet of water, in a Bellevue parking lot, up near Seattle. People had to be towed, then they worked on drainage, and got the water out and then sanded the parking lot because of oil on it, from the flooding.

Oh! Last night, the late night Seattle news said in Eastern WA State they had a HABOOB! It was amazing to see on TV! I sure hope Nancy wasn't in it or near it! :!: :!:

The dryer just dinged, while I logged on here, need to run and make the bed. Am not in a happy mood today.

The news said W. WA State got 24-hours worth of rain in 12-hours last night.

I called in prescriptions and made a grocery list.

DH doesn't need to take his blood sugar, until right before and after he eats lunch, and then 90 minutes after lunch. I got "confused" :? and thought it was every 90-minutes throughout the day.

I did QVAR and peak flow meter, need to do stretching/yoga, which will probably help the ribs pain. I'm on my way to take my Sonicare toothbrush head out of the light cleaning compartment. It cleans/sanitizes for 10 minutes, then shuts off.

Have a great almost-afternoon-here, Everybody! Hoping we all dry out soon, too. :D

Good... afternoon!

(((Dove))) IKWYM!!! That is one of my biggest phobias -- that someone IRL w/"find" me here -- b/c I am sooo open about sooo many things here. You would think that would slow me down on some of the things I post... but no... it doesn't, b/c sometimes I just cannot calm down until I have talked something out w/you ladies. And then I get in a huge panic, thinking ddil might read it, or ds, or someone at church... or you know... someone, somewhere...

(((Kathryn))) I also KWYM re: that sick feeling... but I think you've done well. IF the sale does not take place, then it was not meant to be. I hope you can relax about it while waiting for everything to be finalized.

Going out to walk w/dh, ds, dgs... BBL...
Tomorrow is another day.

What a stressful deal with dd's phone. Everything with this one is on her schedule. Now that her phone isn't working, dh is put out because he's offered to go with her to get it fixed or worked on before. After he called me and we had "words" he called our phone carrier and somehow is able to get an upgraded phone for her now, instead of waiting until end of Sept when she is due for upgrade. Her first words (on Facebook messenger) were I would rather not do samsung if possible because their techsupport is bad and they have issues. I told her it was that phone or she was on her own. Anyway, I can't get dh on the phone so I told her that I'm sure he's doing what he thinks is best to get a phone to her and she should be very grateful. Oy. She was going to go visit my dsis with me this week - I asked her last Sat what days would work for her and she never answered me, so I planned my week w/o her, and w/o going to see dsis. Then dd wanted to know what day we were going.

So I got to Lowes, Staples for labels and the grocery. In all the aggravation I forgot to take dry cleaning w me so I should probably go back out.

Good afternoon everyone! It may be a wet Wednesday for me later today, it looks like it. Unfortunately, it will be very wet for me, because my caulking job for the kitchen leak did not work. Probably because I caulked around the window and the leak is actually on the roof. The garage door repair person has come and gone and I can now open the garage door. (My parents decided to repair my garage door as a present). This will make it much easier to take out the trash! Of course, this also means that I will be clearing out the stuff I stuck in the garage while I could not get the car in! It won't be too bad, just needs to be done. Some of the stuff needs to be returned to its proper owner, so I don't have to find a new home for it. I have to go to an animal org board meeting instead of the scrapbook Bible study tonight.

FlyLady's zones are the bathroom and one extra room, and that will be my sewing room! It was just fine until the leak, when I had to move everything from one half of the room to the other and remove doors to get equipment in. The leak in there SEEMS to be fixed. I am afraid to move the stuff back in case I am wrong, but we have had several good rains and no problems. My goal in that room is to figure out where my photo box went during the stuff move. It contains every photo I own. I am so afraid I may have thrown it out, but I don't see how I could have. It seems I must have moved it, but WHERE??? I know it is not in my shed or my bedroom. It is unlikely to be in the garage and the attic is not suitable for storage.

My goal today is to apply for a job a friend told me about and to apply for at least one of the state's IT Application Developer jobs. There are also many other items on my list.

I have posted very little in 2 weeks. Dh left on his trip and then one thing after another seemed to happen. One situation I will put in MO, when I have time.

Dh arrived home Saturday night. I was so glad to see him, safe. About 3 days into their trip, they were held up over 3 hours due to a gruesome motorcycle fatality accident. The proper authorities were there, but the scene was very sobering to 3 men on a 4500 mile motorcycle trip. One of the first things dh said to me after arriving home is that there is NO WAY that he will be taking that trip to the NE states next year. He said #1 it is just too hard on him, physically and #2 he is done travelling with the local guy who is an obnoxious, big mouth, know it all. Dh said that he is tired of trying to overlook this guys attitude. He is talking about selling this big bike that he travels on. He will keep the other one. Each of the guys had a deer run out in front of them at some point on the trip. Dh still wants to see those states and wants us to take the trip in the car.

There is a big bike rally in NW Arkansas that dh has been to several times with our hometown friends. He wants to go again this year and trailer the bike he wants to keep to our hometown. Then he will ride with our friends to the rally. We did this 2 years ago and I went with him because it was my class reunion. I am thinking I will go with him because I haven't been back in 2 years. Plus, by then it will a year since I have seen dm. The real issue is that we can get a hotel room for Wednesday night but the rest of the weekend all hotels are filled due to multiple class reunions and a festival. So I will have to stay at db and dsisils for 3 nights if I go. And my dm wonders why I don't come visit?

Dh's youngest dsis had her cancer surgery on August 5. They went in knowing it started in her remaining ovary. They thought she also had cancer in her rectum and colon. Turns out it was on, not in. They removed those spots but she also had spots on her diaphragm and liver. They removed those also, but were unable to remove any lymph nodes due to them being swollen. The dr. staged her cancer at 3. Friday afternoon her blood pressure spiked to 200+/100+. They rushed her to ICU because they were afraid she would have a heart attack or stroke. They sent her home late Sunday afternoon. Someone, somewhere dropped the ball and the proper pre-op heart tests weren't done. They did not put a port for the chemo in while they had her under, so now she has to have that done. Her veins are shot and can not withstand any chemo. Also, on top of the cancer she has to see a cardiologist and find out what is going on. The lymph node situation has me concerned.

My daughters started back to school on August 7 with inservices for 3 days, yesterday was a workday. Today k-7, freshman, sophomores and anyone new to the district had a half day of classes. This afternoon is a half work day. Tomorrow school is in session. At the high school, they operate on an odd day, even day schedule, 4 classes each day. Dd2 was suppose to work the odd day schedule and be part time. On Friday they convinced her to work full time. On the even day schedule she will be teaching ESL? :o  She is not certified to teach that but if she starts taking college classes for it, she can teach it. She will be teaching Somalians, Burmese and there are students from 4 different countries that speak Spanish. Some of the classes are basic survival skills, starting with how to line up for lunch. The teacher who had retired had left all of her training supplies behind, bless her heart, they are badly needed. Also, dd2 has paras and student helpers, so she is not in it alone.

Dh went back to work today after being off for 2 weeks.

Tomorrow dgs20 goes back to college. Tonight we are going to dd1s, make and eat s'mores and tell dgs20 goodbye for now. He is ready to go back.

Some tension thing messed up in the lawnmower while dh was gone and it wouldn't run. I had to pay to have it mowed. Dh was able to adjust it within minutes of checking out the problem, so I am back in the mowing business.

I took a nap in the recliner, during a PBS concert, and got up to sort mail, which just came in. I did today's FlyLady's mission, did a 2-minute hot spot and 15-min. declutter.

I feel so cranky this afternoon, I don't know why, exactly, but woke up on the wrong side of the recliner arm chair, I guess!  :!: I might have a nice hot cup of International Coffee, to relax by. I have 4 - 5 letters to write; I only owe 3, but wanted to write Dsis and DD. Maybe I'm having that stupid overwhelm feeling, when there's actually nothing pressing to do? :?:  Maybe it's the dark cloudy day we're having. At least we have 2 clean sets of sheets, remade the bed, and it's always nice to crawl into a bed with clean sheets on it. So that's good.

No letters came in today, so this is the 2nd day in a row with no letters. It seems that 2 - 3 days go without them, and the next day I can get 4 - 5 of them.

DH put the ARC donation on the covered porch. :D He attends his retirees luncheon tomorrow, they gets prescriptions and groceries. I need to think up something fun to do while he's gone from about noon - 3 p.m. or so. :D It might be fun to read and crochet to a Hallmark-HD movie tomorrow. ♥ IF there's anything on at that time. Need to go check.

I'm glad the Haboob wasn't at your place, Nancy. That's funny about why the chicken crossed the road, too!

Nice to see you, Lilac and Elizabeth, too. :D :D

Back home. Dh and I went to the house to pick up the big cooler (the one I prefer to use when traveling) and three shipping flats that dd needs for her basement (she had a flood years ago in a basement so keeps her stuff up as much as possible.)

She agreed to host us for dinner tomorrow night so we'll take them over when we go. She sounds excited to host her first dinner party.

We are all excited about TGF arriving. Ds was looking for a bachelor apartment this morning and I told him to wait until after the visit to see if TGF will move here because they'll need at least a one bedroom. He said he has been looking at places with easy access to our big downtown mall. I said I didn't see her wanting to stay in retail (she told me that when we were in NZ) but apparently she has just started with Nordstroms and while it doesn't pay well, it has benefits. As well, there is a Nordstroms opening in that mall and her boss has already told her she can transfer to that store!

Dh is convinced that ds will come back from Calgary engaged and I'm thinking dh might be right!

Elizabeth ds doesn't have a credit rating at this point (he just got a charge card, not credit card, 12 months ago) but problems getting a mortgage will stem from his job. He is guaranteed only 25 hours of work each week and has two jobs - one part time, one casual. As well, he has no benefits and makes under $25/hour (which is OK money if it was full-time but it isn't.) He took 9 months off to travel the world, owes me $5K, his car has 200,000 miles on it and he has no money saved for a down payment. It isn't a mistake on the credit report, it is no-one will be nuts enough to give him a mortgage!

I'll obviously have to fund something once he gets re-established here. In the meantime, he's going to have to rent. Eventually there will be two incomes, benefits (from her job) and stability and at that point he can look to home ownership.

I got home and found my 'new' (refurbished) cell phone sitting on my computer keyboard. Dh had to help me get it going once I put the SIM card in wrong and it was stuck, but now it is up and running. Yay! And charging. It will take a while to learn to use it but I have the drive to do that. The box came with two additional new SIM cards. Not sure why but it means I could start a second account for data only if I wanted since I'm loving having data on my tablet. We'll see. In the meantime, I'm loading this phone with my favourite apps.
