Morning ya'll

Its a rainy day in AZ and we don't get many of them around here. We had storms last night and are looking for more before the evening ends. It looks like MT's area got a good dousing too.

Am in the middle of coloring my hair. Most of my footprints have been picked up and I'm planning to do a bit of my house blessings. However I'm not really in a rush to do that as I want to enjoy this rainy day feeling for a bit longer

Harriet, I like your link. In days gone by when I was in full swing teaching, I would do the same thing with my clothes. I put each day's clothes on a hanger and then filled my ziplock bags with whatever else I needed. I used clothes pins to attach the bags to my hangers. I usually had enough outfits to last two weeks. Sometimes I would see how many outfits I could arrange at once. Then I would hang everything in my closet and "pick" what I wanted to wear for the week. The type of weather usually played into my choices.

Boy when I was working out of my box I was always on a roll. I even took my "box" into my classroom. My desk was my "sinK'. I had every class color coded and a weekly plan to follow. It really helped me to stay focused and cut my off teaching time in the classroom in half. I had to shut my door to stay on task..teachers are notorious for walking into other teachers classroom just to chit chat. I had to explain to my department that I wasn't shutting my door to be rude, but that it helped me not to get distracted from what I needed to do.

Off to finish my hair...will cya'll later

Hello Dear Ladies,

Sunny and hot here. DH and I had coffee and breakfast on the porch. He has hung a couple of hummingbird feeders out and we watched them come down to them. Good start to the day.

Just kinda of taking it easy today. I did extra stuff yesterday and my shoulder and arm were feeling it yesterday. So just puttering a lot today. Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever be able to do all I used to do without hurting somewhere. I just do a lot of if I can't do A, I'll do B for now.

Asked Dson-18 the condition of his undergarments. The mom is coming out in me. Told him to be sure they were in good shape.

Want him to get his room very clean too and organized better, in case he has problems after coming home and ambulance has to come. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.

Going to putter some more.

Good afternoon everyone! I have come and gone from art class, where I showed the teacher the crocheted jacket she is getting in return for classes. She agreed with me that a pin would be better than the ties from the original pattern, so there is no more crochet to be done on it. Tasks remaining on it are: blocking, determining the time it took, pictures to Ravelry and here, write up sleeve solution and post to Ravelry. It will all be done well in time for state fair entry on Sept 6, which is good since it is my only entry.

I have mailed my condolence letter, scheduled spays and neuters for foster kittens, and eaten a good lunch (with vegetables even!). Next up: job application stuff.

Interesting note from my mom came in. They have the first tankless hot water heater in Mobile, AL. Very strange, because that is not a new product.

BBL maybe.

Called about my pills for Rx refill, the had to fax the dr. Office dr. Office. Called I have the refill paper her on the fridge with a magnet sigh. So I have to take it in before that can be filled again. Of course they had to remind me about the danged blood tests. I am not going to have a morning free until after school starts for that & he said I have some time and there is not a hurry. It works in the budget after my bday.

I called and ordered the other two jumbo bobbins for my wheel for plying. I asked while I had them on the phone found out I can get a spinning stool in the right color to go with my wheel also. I will wait on that it is not in stock now.

I have the sheets all changed now yea!

We are settling into the cabin at Whitepoint.

We are in the cabin we used to have all the time before the family got too large for a 2 bedroom cabin. After the fire, they remade this one as a housekeeping cabin, taking out a bedroom (and a wall) and putting in a kitchen. It is a very well equipped kitchen. So far the only thing it is missing is a garlic press and I brought mine!

When we approached the nearby town, we texted ds to see how far behind us he was. Turns out he was in front of us, already at the town, at the grocery store, getting Beep (a drink we can only buy down here and is only available seasonally.)

We told him to stay put and when we walked into the store, they were waiting for us!

They are tired (they drove 12 hours yesterday and left early this morning) so weren't all that hungry. I've bought some chicken pieces and we are having that for dinner with carrots, salad, garlic bread, leftover potatoes from last night and watermelon for dessert. It smells great in here!

The weather is gorgeous. It is the first TGF has been warm since leaving her home (our home city has been unseasonably cold for the past week.) Ds is in shock (things are very different) but at the same time very happy to be here.

Checking back in.

DH took me out for a late lunch to new local BBQ. food was fantastic. Two dsons joined us and we had a pleasant time. One of the sons wanted us to stop a place on the ride back to look at some classic cars. Makes ya feel a little old to see some of the cars I drove as a young adult are now classics.

Don't have to make dinner, we had so much food and brought some back for later.

Feel like a nap. And the heat just drained me too.

Did a little decluttering in my room, instead of cleaning bathrooms. Maybe I'll do the bathrooms after I rest.

I was up very late last night, woke up very, very tired, and have had a slow day, but got in my nap for 1 hour. I wrote the adult children of my 98-year-old BFF a thank you card for inviting us. Also, I wrote Debbie Macomber another thank you card, for my fondness of her Blossom Street, Rose Harbor series books, her Christmas books and wonderful non-fiction books. Her address is in each book, she encourages her fans to write their thoughts to her. I wrote other letters, too.

I went to bed warm, fell asleep about 1:20 a.m. and suddenly woke up  :o freezing cold. :!: I took off my sleeveless nightgown, fumbled around in bathroom sensor light, to get my long-sleeved ankle-length nightgown out of my Muumuu on the chair in our bedroom. I got it on, climbed into bed and went out like a light bulb! :!: :P

DH baked a blackberry cobbler out of Himalayan berries, which are huge, like boysenberries. I cannot have it because #1- The cobbler's not on my diet, and #2- Because the seeds won't digest in my system, I need to stay away from such dishes or I get very, very ill, with cramps, etc... So, I guess he'll need to eat the entire thing by himself! :!:

I ordered another e-book from the library, in the Blossom Street Series, by Debbie Macomber. This title is "The Shop on Blossom Street." :D When I read on the laptop, I sometimes sit, I sometimes stand behind the chair, to do stretches. Also, I take mini breaks to write a note to someone, to tidy in the office or elsewhere in the house. This way, I don't hyper-focus on reading and not get anything else done. It makes the day/evening pass by so quickly. :!:

It's beautiful and sunny here, warm, too, but my Dsis in Utah is having rain. Her doggies are not liking to go out in it, to do their "job" and try to stay on the porch for as long as possible.

I wrote a letter to a pen pal, wrote in my journal, made the bed, put laundry in the laundry basket, and kept my office desk cleared. I haven't done much, as I'm more tired today than I was yesterday.

Enjoy the evening! Waving to Everybody! :D

Hello to EVERYONE!!!

I've had a very tiring day... up @ 6:00 a.m. (after approx. 3 1/2 hours sleep  ) to take dmom to get the endoscopy done. (Good results, everything normal except for what the doctor called "mild gastritis.")
I did not get back home until after 1:00 and I was sooo sleepy and exhausted. I ate a piece of pizza and a piece of cake, rewarding myself for my early rising, LOL... and then I went to bed and slept most of the time until around 4:00. Then I got up and dh and I ate supper, went to the nursing home for dh, ds, & ddil to sing -- and now we're home w/dgs while ds & ddil go out to eat.

I still need to type minutes from last night's church meeting.

How on earth did I get up at 6:00 a.m. for 30 years?
Tomorrow is another day.

Lucylee, I'm being treated, this being my 2nd month, for Gastritis. If you "Google" "Gastritis-friendly foods" a lot of good ideas come up, because I'm thinking of your Dmom. :) I was surprised to learn how almonds and almond butter is so good. Also, I had to cut out margarine and butter, so now use a shaker of Molly McButter, on mashed potatoes and squash. I'm supposed to limit fried foods, so broiling and baking is better. They say to stay away from acidic fruits and foods, like tomatoes, catchup, and pineapple. I had to cut out spicy foods. Whenever I eat spicy foods, acidic foods or greasy foods, my Gastritis is worst. We keep little microwave dinners on hand. They say to cut out beef and pork, processed meats, too. I've been eating a lot of chicken, rotisserie chicken goes a LONG way, and fish. We love catfish and crab cakes are good, as well as shrimp, and that fake crab called Pollock, which is an Alaskan waterways bottom fish. There are good things, too, to eat on the Gastritis Diet. I find that string cheese is helpful, little pudding cups, and the Dr. said it's very important to take probiotics. Also, my yogurt is strained, plain Greek yogurt from Costco. I don't know if I'm spelling it correctly, but it's something like Fejeh, pronounced something like FAY-YEH. :?: I ate sushi for the first time with anchovy and cucumber in it, with cheese. This is the first time I'd ever had anchovy and cucumber NEVER agreed with me. I about croaked after I ate it, with GERD and Gastritis burping, but had brought chewable Gas-Ex pills with me, popped 2 into my mouth, but had difficulty for 2 days. :( Gas-Ex chewable pills OR the swallowed Gas-Ex pills, taken after meals and at bedtime, help a LOT. I'm glad your Dmom's case is "MILD", too, because when it's a strong dose of it, it's painful. Also, propping up your upper body to sleep in a recliner or in bed with 2 pillows under your back, sure helps. I'm thankful your Dmom's case isn't as serious as mine was 2.5 months ago. :!: :D I wish her my best. :)

DH used to get up at 4 a.m. to work a 12-hour shift on for 4 days, off for 4 days. Then, DD had her first job at McDonald's, on the breakfast crew, had to be there super early, before school started, to get something like 400 biscuits all ready. I don't know how I got up that early now, either. I'd be napping all day, if I got up at 4 a.m. NOW! That's why DH retired early, in 1998-1999 at age 57 or younger, when they phased out his department. He was thrilled to not get up at 4 a.m. anymore. He loves to sleep until 8 - 8:30 a.m., but there are "those days", when he's up at 6 - 7 a.m. I get up anywhere from 6 - 9 a.m., depending upon my night, how I'm feeling, and what's on my agenda.

It's nice that your dfamily sang at the nursing home! :!: :D

Have a great Trotting Tuesday night, Everybody! The open-upper was so awesome! I wish I'd have seen it earlier today, than I had, because maybe it'd had motivated me to do some trotting today! :!:

We had about 2 inches of rain and that is an enormous amount for one day here. Usually we count on .2 at the most. Our neighbors have an "at grade" patio that they have screened in and it has about 2 inches of water all over the floor. Our house is more above ground but the water flooded the unattached garage. We knew this would happen from previous years and had everything up on pallets.

The MH is now home and ready to be loaded for our mini trip next week with the church. I have to wash clothes first, however.

Went to hospital to visit one of the older ladies from church. Her foot and leg are infected from a bite from her cat. She is such a sweetie. She makes deviled eggs for our fellowship time every week. But they are getting more and more salty. Her eyesight is not too good and she over salts the eggs.
