Nancy, that is a helpful gadget I'm sure. I remember a more old-fashioned method that was quite helpful with general gathering and unwinding of yarn. It was nice if you found a suitable helper, like this one.

Well, the last girl wanting to have a sleepover is planned. It is tonight, here. An unusual snag came up. This girl has never been on a sleepover before. And there's an interesting reason. Little sister cannot sleep without her in their room, and gets scared. :? So... ... both girls invited! HRH is being marvelous about it so far, although he wonders if the younger girl will also be afraid in a strange place. He figures she might be afraid of him, too, since he doesn't always look like the kind of guy you want to meet in a dark alley. :?: Dd will give up her double bed and "camp out" in the sleeping bag.

Taking a break with a bottle of water and cup of coffee. I was a bit surprised to find my clothes are sweaty. I'e been working the last 2 hours deep cleaning in our bedroom. I intended to only work one hour, but when it was time to stop I made the decision to push on and completely finish. Today I washed two walls (including 4 windows), took down/washed/rehung the multiple layers of sheers & drapes, moved all the furniture (turning each pieces upside down wipe down well). Doesn't sound like much but I was working hard for two solid hours getting it done. Everything looks and smells clean now.

Speaking of smelling ......does anyone have opinion or experience using laundry scent booster? I just bought some for the first time.

Dee CM in this case means church musician (and her family, the ones who nearly bought our house.)

No rain yet so we are heading off for a driving tour and ferry ride.

Lunch was defined by the bread that was going to go stale. So it was garlic bread with cheese and bacon melted on top. It was deemed a success. Oh, and we had watermelon. Still have lots of watermelon to eat up.

Dinner is the seaside diner.

:D Good Morning, Village! :D

Good opener, Dee, and enjoy that car! :D

Kathryn, Your seaside dinner sounds delicious! :D

LadyM, Your cuddling with LO brings back sweet memories! ♥ :)

Waving back to you, Lucylee! :)

Harriet, That's interesting about the sleepover not ever being experienced by the one girl. Now, you'll have 2. I'm glad HRH is all right about it, hoping the younger girl will be okay about it, and poor DD having to give up her double bed. It sounds like the girls will have fun. Been there, done that, barely got any sleep!

Helia, Good luck on the decision whether or not to get a new car or van, etc... :)

RR, I've never heard of an eggs and tomato sandwich before. Is it a fried egg with tomato slices? :?:

I got up about 8:40 a.m., d2s, as I showered last night, have done most of my a.m. routine, and we decided to stay home today. Was thinking about a Dollar Tree trip, for stationery and cards, but when I studied my office areas, I honestly have no more places to put anymore pen palling papers, etc... :!: I'll wait until my supply dwindles down some, then restock it later.

It's very sunny, beautiful, will be in the lower 70's today and central WA State's having flash floods and mudslides. There's no vegetation on the hills to hold or absorb the water, so you get mudslides, down into canyons with flash flooding. It'll be worst this afternoon - evening again. Poor people. First wildfires and now this!

Have a great Friday, Everybody! :D

Ah, vacation trips, and packing and traveling. Y'all sound like you're having so much fun, or at least anticipating fun. I wish traveling was easier for us. We got a notice yesterday that Grandparent's Day is next month but they start at 8:30 in the morning and serve a breakfast first. DH is agreeable that we could go, but who knows if we'll really be able to do that. It would be so good for me to get away. But all the getting ready for that and leaving the house by 5:00AM, not sure that is doable.

We have been super busy. Our subs all have been busy. Papers didn't get posted at one spot and I had to run out and do that this morning. Cell phone co. neglected to charge our credit card and put a month's minutes in and they disconnected our service. We're on an automatic charge each month. So this morning was really hectic straightening all that out.

Yesterday I had to accompany DH on a job to help as our helper couldn't work past the middle of the afternoon. He does this almost every day for one reason or another and it's very inconvenient and we had to talk to him about it. The woes of running our own business with employees. I did get some groceries on the way home.

My sniffles turned into a flu or something respiratory. I'm praying I didn't take my germs to my friend Sandi when I took her dinner. Today my head aches and it seems to have settled down further. Bad cough. I hope it doesn't last long.

Paid bills, ran that errand for DH, some computer work done. I'm finding it difficult to be a "helper" for DH these days. Old bones and joints complain too much. Going to lay down for a while...

Hello Ladies,

Another HOT day here, triple digits temps.

Work schedule has me going in later today so came by here to peek in.

Dson-18 ended up at urgent care a couple of nights ago with sore throat and fever. Doesn't have strep or mono, tests are negative. Thanking God. Looks like allergies and sinus problems. He's on anti-biotics. Called heart doc's office to let them know and he's going to proceed with procedure on Monday. Dson is feeling much better so looks like everything will be ok.

Finding that I don't have the stamina or endurance with my shoulder/arm. I can work at tasks for awhile but then the shoulder or arm starts to hurt and I have to take a break. Also can't multi-task as much as I used to. The arm wants a rest. Still can't tie that apron, but it's getting closer. Think maybe I'll start timing myself to see how long I can do something before it starts hurting. Then I'll see if I can improve on the time, I'll see if I'm making progress.

Doing some laundry while I'm home since Monday will be an all day thing for sure and maybe overnight too, just have to see how things go for him.

If I don't get back over the weekend, please keep us in prayer for dson-18 and the rest of the family.

Thanks

Oy, I can not seem to get going (again) today. I was up 7:30, straightened up for dcleaning lady, walked dogs, did a round of a.m. routine, and haven't done anything since.

I need to prioritize.

I think the only must do is to buy dog food.

I'd like to:
-go to grocery for fish for dinner tonight
-make challah
-make lasagne sauce to make up lasagnes for the freezer
-go to temple to sign checks and mail, and to p/y fresh eggs
-call about home health care for mother

I got the home health care phone call out of the way and am heading out for dog food and fish for dinner tonight. Will start challah before leaving, tho.

Thought about it later and figured that's who it was, Kathryn.

One reason we can probably get along without the van is that dh can borrow a truck from one of our dsons or someone else for those times he needs room for those type of things, Helia. Otherwise, it would still be a van. I almost feel like I'd had a limb cut off not having all that space, but I'm adjusting. Think I have most things I want in the car and it's beautiful. Had lots of this 'n that and I've pared most things down to zero or very little. Makes me happy! :D Have a small group of bulbs, etc for our van (new ones) that I've asked dh to look at. If we don't need them for this car, we'll give them all to a friend of ours who gives needy people things when they're needed. We gave him our old burgundy grand caravan about 4 years ago. He fixed it up and gave it to a family who had no car. Works for me!
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!
