Thank you for the birthday wishes. I appreciate it. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SHERINJOY AND LUCYLEE. I had a card and a couple flowers from the garden in a vase by the coffeepot this morning when I got up. Nice sentiment inside the card hand-written brought tears. DH gets kuddos for that.

How things are going around here: I went to the bank drive thru in my house slippers this morning. Too much trouble to change.

But, kitchen is semi-cleaned up, bills are current, dinner is cooked and in the refrigerator. I will get the cauliflower in the steamer a little later.

Meds make me nauseous, but I am taking them so I will get better. And without the one I am in an incredible amount of pain. Waited on the one yesterday and learned my lesson the hard way. Napped on the couch yesterday all afternoon. Felt better after last night's sleep too. Taking it easier today.

Thank you for the encouragement re: my job yesterday.

I missed Sadie's report about her ds' surgery, so I might go back later and look that up. It sounds like it was successful from others' comments.

I can't spend time here now b/c I only have 1.5 hours before I need to leave again and I need to prep for tutee A. He never sent me his writing sample. Grrr..... We'll work on listening and maybe reading, then. I was out today from 9:15 - 12:50 at a teaching team meetings, and then errands: bank, PO, pet store, and TJ. I'm finishing lunch now and moving on. . . I did cancel Th. dinner tonight. Just too much with the busy morning, getting dd16 to and from drivers ed, and tutoring.

Oy. I am feeling overwhelmed by taking care of people/dogs.

As the physical therapist was working on Macs' joints with the infrared, we found a large patch of skin where his fur was coming out, so he was seen by the specialist who was there today, and he has a staph infection in his skin. They took a scraping to test to determine whether it is methicillin resistant, but started him on lower-level antibiotic and with an ointment for now. Results of scraping don't come back for a week or so, we regroup at that point if needed with a different antibiotic.

Physical Therapist C, when told of dog losing control (pee, poop and throw up) yesterday, suggests that Moses be seen by vet. I don't know what to do there - all is quiet with him for right now.

And I need to head out to p/u meals for dmom and visit there.

Hmmmm......evidently my post from early this morning (right after LadyM's opener) must be out there in cyber space. Have no idea what I said -except to wish our triplets a HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HARMONY, LUCYLEE AND SHERINJOY! The best of days to you.

Have just one more day of Granny duty -tomorrow, my final day to be up and at 'em very early. Watch -I won't sleep an extra wink on Saturday. :D

Have to work the hamburg/hots stand for tonight's "Cruise In". This will also be the last one of those this year. The summer is GONE!

Picked up the deck and now I have to make sense out of the desk (which encompasses the table and chairs). Been adding things to the tray on top of the printer and that definitely needs to be weeded. Off I go for the next 30 minutes -see where that takes me.

Spent time tidying up the kitchen and ran the dishwasher.

Then I spent time in the bedroom, stripping and remaking the bed, putting away things from the trip and sorting through a drawer. Before I went away I bought a lot of clothing so I have to get rid of things to compensate. Still have to find about 5 things to give up. I need to learn to be very ruthless and I'm not anywhere there yet.

One of the books I'm waiting for from the library is about looking younger. It is not a 'beauty is only skin deep' book but seriously about doing one's best to look one's best. I'm feeling pretty bad about myself these days so thought maybe I need a makeover and will start with this book.

No news from ds as to whether he wants me to host a birthday dinner. I'm fading fast here so may take away the offer.

Finally s2s and found a bite under my left arm. That is also the side that hurts although the bite is nowhere near the discomfort and on its own doesn't hurt at all. We'll give it some time and look again. Then I ate lunch (just salad with hard boiled egg) and my pain in my side flared up. So I'm guessing it has something to do with digestive track. I have heat on it now to relax the area.

There's a load of laundry started and we'll head out to the house to wash the car and sort through stuff.

Well, DH came in needing supplies and a form I got for him. He had on a nice pair of work shorts I haven't seen in a long, long time. Unfortunately, I let his clean work shorts run out and he went hunting for something to wear today. He's been working every day for weeks now and I think he must have lost some weight cause they were in the too-small pile. We both have multiple sizes of clothes!

So, this afternoon I did a load of work clothes and then got the sewing machine fired up. Fixed a couple pairs of shorts (seams, pockets) and sewed a button on. He's hard on his clothes.

Kathryn, it sounds like I need to read that book too. I don't like to look in the mirror these days. You'd think being sick and not eating much would help...not so much...

Thank you again for birthday wishes. Even my insurance agent called to wish me a happy day!

Quick, quick post and run -- but I had to pop in and wish a happy birthday to my fellow celebrants (Is that the word? I always hate it, being an English teacher, when I'm am not sure of the word!) --

:D :D :D Happy birthday, Harmony & Sher!!! :D :D :D Hope you both have a wonderful day.

I have walked 2 miles, while talking to one of my daunts on the phone, to thank her for my birthday card. I will thank other daunt tonight at football game. I have two cousins playing and we will be going to the game w/ds & dgs. * Wish us luck. I believe this will be dgs's first game! * Ddil is working.
Dmom called, we will see her tomorrow night... dniece called... and dxsisil sent me a text. Also received cards from two of my lifelong friends. Very nice day so far.
Must s2s now, before dgs arrives!

Add my very merry birthday wishes to SHEINJOY, HARMONY AND LUCYLEE. Hope ya'll have a wonderful day . AWWW, Harmony sounds like your morning began with a great start from your DH. How nice :D

I've had a busy week around here. Monday I decided to wash my decorations that sit ontop of my kitchen cabinets...and then I discovered some greasy spots above my oven exhaust fan, which lead to using Dawn dish soap directly on the tops of my cabinets, which lead to using Scott's Liquid Gold on all my kitchen cabinets. I must of gone up and down my really tall ladder a hundred times.

Then I realized that some of the Scott's spray landed on my floor, which of course made it slick...hummm...I had just removed and wahsed all the filters out of my dyson the day before so I cranked it up, vacuumed the enitre house and then had to mop the floors...no sence in mopping just the kitchen area. AND...

Since I had the liquid gold out I ended up dusting the house as well.

Tue I subbed....A Jr HS social studies class. The kids were terrific and I enjoyed my day.

Yesterday I totally redid my closet, which of course Sweetie shares with me. I now have two bags ready for G will with clothes that no longer fit me. I was ruthless with no holds barred. Again I was up and down on my step ladder. I have a plastic bin that I keep my belts in...it resembles a basket of snakes. While sorting out the mess and rolling up each belt I got the brilliant idea to wrap a thick runnber band around each one so the belts wouldn't come undone. Then I decided to put my other belts, some which are metal, into individual zip lock bags....Boy am I a happy camper with the results. Now I can see which belt I want without having to dig through my snake's nest.

Today I have been busy with Sweetie at our other house...which at the moment is empty. We are trying to decided whether to turn it over to a "flipper" or redo it ourselves. After we get back from the beach I will be contacting several flippers to see what their offers would be and then make a decision from there.

Tomorrow I need to check out the Labor Day sales. My two bathing suits that I was counting on to wear are sagging in places that leave my...hummmm...derriere exposed in places that should remain covered. UGH...I hate shopping for bathing suits...it ranks right up there with shopping for bras.

Which BTW, reminds me....cause now I'm thinking about jeans....I find the the jeans at K-mart fit me really well. Their Basic Editions brand are made for women..they fit on the waist, are good in the legs and at $16.99 won't break the bank. Sometimes they are $12.99 when I can catch them on sale. K-mart also carries a Lee Brand version which are made the same way. They usually run around $19.98 a pair and you can sometimes catch them on sale for around$15.99. You know I must shop there often if I can quote their prices.

I tend to buy my shoes there as well. I have really weird feet...I need a wide in a shoe that has a tall/large toe box and Kmarts shoes usually fit my feet. I bought most of my working shoes there because they are so comfortable and I spent all my days on my feet.
