After we got home and settled in to watch the ballgame, everything went fine, until later in the evening when I tried to get dgs to eat his supper. He threw another "terrible two" tantrum, and I just kinda forced him to sit down in the rocker/recliner with me and let me talk to him. When I started to let him down, he started down, and then started to crawl back up with me. So I started rocking him and he fell asleep almost instantly. This was around 6:30. We did not move until after 8:00. I think I slept a little, also, and it was just so peaceful and sweet to get to hold him like that -- b/c he almost NEVER lets me rock him or hold him for any length of time -- he is MUCH too busy for that sort of thing.
Well... he woke up... finally...
I got another load of clothes done...
He did eat... (fed himself)
and meanwhile, I started the cookies for tomorrow... and...
then, when I was getting him out of the high chair, the tray slipped and we had ravioli sauce and peas/carrots/corn ALL OVER the kitchen.
Wow. Just wow. And of course, he had ravioli all over himself, too, LOL.
Cleaned him up... cleaned up the floor...
Finally finished the cookies...
Got the last load of clothes hanging to dry and all dishes washed except two sippy cups...
And if the sheets were back on the bed, I would feel I had been some kind of wonderful Nana today!
Our ballgame was delayed by lightning for over an hour... so my family is going to be late getting home, I guess. OTOH, ddil won some kind of contest they do each week, and she received a pair of diamond earrings.

She got to go down on the field between quarters to receive them, also. I guess she didn't mind getting wet in the rain, all things considered.
Oh -- and we did win, so that probably made the trip worthwhile for the men.
RR's team won too...
Thanks for the vote of confidence,
Harriet. It still makes me nervous. I do not like to be the center of attention.
LadyM -- you would make a GREAT school board member, but I don't know if I'd want to take on the extra responsibility either, if I were you.
We have church @ 11:00 tomorrow (instead of 9:00) for 5th Sunday. It should be a mostly song-service, but they said nothing to ds/dh about singing, and they are usually involved when we do our 5th Sunday services... so I don't know what to expect. I'm afraid dh is not going to feel like going, anyway. He felt miserable last night, and moaned and groaned about how he didn't know if he was going to feel like going to college town today -- but I knew if he was able to get out of bed, he would be going. However, by the time he gets home... he may not make it to church, and he certainly won't make it over to dcousin's house tomorrow evening.
Ddil has already said she is not going to dcousin's house b/c she will have to go in to work tomorrow night. Dmom says she is going to church at the old pastor's church, where she went last Sunday night. So that leaves ds, dgs, and me. Right now, I am too tired to think about going myself, but after the way I pouted on the 4th of July b/c I wasn't invited, you better believe I will go.

I've spent over $30 on hotdogs, buns, and cookies, too... so now I
have to go, LOL.
Dmom was kinda surprised dcousin wanted us to get together on Sunday anyway, and said duncle will be offended that she is planning this during church hours. DH & I don't go on Sunday nights anyway, so

we can't use that excuse, and I do enjoy my family so much when we're together. But... it's still kinda sad to me, since this will be the first time I've been at a gathering like this without dcousin who passed away in June. AND -- kinda awkward b/c one of her brothers wants football tickets so bad, and although we have 6 season tickets between us & dbil, they're all pretty much spoken for. * sigh *
And then dmom goes and says SHE wants to go to a game with us...
I'm feeling nauseated again.
That could be b/c I had enough dough for about 3 more cookies when the last dozen went in the oven... so I just ate it. Chocolate chip pecan. * sigh *
