Service is done and in the printer now.

Dh is doing the cleaning up of the kitchen so I'll go help. We both cooked tonight so we both should clean up.

I need to write my friend to make sure he's coming.

The balloon festival has been a bust except for yesterday morning. Dinner time last night there were only 5 and they were in the distance. Nothing tonight (and dh said nothing this morning, although I was in bed so didn't look.)

There are fireworks tonight at 10:15 after a concert. There are all kinds of other activities along with the balloon so if the weather is uncooperative (and we think nothing tonight was because there was a bit of a breeze) the people still get value for their weekend passes.

Not sure I can stay awake until 10:15.

Yuggg. Working the booth was harder on me than I expected. Three hours non-stop on concrete in the sun. After two hours my feet hurt so much that I blocked it from my thoughts and just kept going. My clothes were soaking wet with sweat. Other than the misery from working so hard......I had a blast! We were raising about $200 an hour clear (all profit) and the children were having a good time. Win - Win.

I had someone come ask me to consider running for school board in the spring. Hum......that is a bucket of worms that I'm not sure I want to delve into. I've thought about it in the past but keep talking myself out of it.

DH just left to start on MPB PM chores. Late start tonight so it will be in the early morning hours before he finishes.

Sweet Dreams

Nancy, thank you for the Soda Stream flavor suggestions. The cranberry sounds good to me.

I tried the root beer and DH tried the diet cola. We both agreed that once we figure out the combination of how much carbonation we want and how much flavor to add, we will like it. It's certainly easy to use. I'm looking forward to trying the ginger ale tomorrow.

After we got home and settled in to watch the ballgame, everything went fine, until later in the evening when I tried to get dgs to eat his supper. He threw another "terrible two" tantrum, and I just kinda forced him to sit down in the rocker/recliner with me and let me talk to him. When I started to let him down, he started down, and then started to crawl back up with me. So I started rocking him and he fell asleep almost instantly. This was around 6:30. We did not move until after 8:00. I think I slept a little, also, and it was just so peaceful and sweet to get to hold him like that -- b/c he almost NEVER lets me rock him or hold him for any length of time -- he is MUCH too busy for that sort of thing. :!:

Well... he woke up... finally...
I got another load of clothes done...
He did eat... (fed himself)
and meanwhile, I started the cookies for tomorrow... and...
then, when I was getting him out of the high chair, the tray slipped and we had ravioli sauce and peas/carrots/corn ALL OVER the kitchen.
Wow. Just wow. And of course, he had ravioli all over himself, too, LOL.
Cleaned him up... cleaned up the floor...
Finally finished the cookies...
Got the last load of clothes hanging to dry and all dishes washed except two sippy cups...
And if the sheets were back on the bed, I would feel I had been some kind of wonderful Nana today!

Our ballgame was delayed by lightning for over an hour... so my family is going to be late getting home, I guess. OTOH, ddil won some kind of contest they do each week, and she received a pair of diamond earrings. She got to go down on the field between quarters to receive them, also. I guess she didn't mind getting wet in the rain, all things considered.
Oh -- and we did win, so that probably made the trip worthwhile for the men.

RR's team won too...

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Harriet. It still makes me nervous. I do not like to be the center of attention.

LadyM -- you would make a GREAT school board member, but I don't know if I'd want to take on the extra responsibility either, if I were you.

We have church @ 11:00 tomorrow (instead of 9:00) for 5th Sunday. It should be a mostly song-service, but they said nothing to ds/dh about singing, and they are usually involved when we do our 5th Sunday services... so I don't know what to expect. I'm afraid dh is not going to feel like going, anyway. He felt miserable last night, and moaned and groaned about how he didn't know if he was going to feel like going to college town today -- but I knew if he was able to get out of bed, he would be going. However, by the time he gets home... he may not make it to church, and he certainly won't make it over to dcousin's house tomorrow evening.
Ddil has already said she is not going to dcousin's house b/c she will have to go in to work tomorrow night. Dmom says she is going to church at the old pastor's church, where she went last Sunday night. So that leaves ds, dgs, and me. Right now, I am too tired to think about going myself, but after the way I pouted on the 4th of July b/c I wasn't invited, you better believe I will go. I've spent over $30 on hotdogs, buns, and cookies, too... so now I have to go, LOL.
Dmom was kinda surprised dcousin wanted us to get together on Sunday anyway, and said duncle will be offended that she is planning this during church hours. DH & I don't go on Sunday nights anyway, so  we can't use that excuse, and I do enjoy my family so much when we're together. But... it's still kinda sad to me, since this will be the first time I've been at a gathering like this without dcousin who passed away in June. AND -- kinda awkward b/c one of her brothers wants football tickets so bad, and although we have 6 season tickets between us & dbil, they're all pretty much spoken for. * sigh *
And then dmom goes and says SHE wants to go to a game with us...
I'm feeling nauseated again.
That could be b/c I had enough dough for about 3 more cookies when the last dozen went in the oven... so I just ate it. Chocolate chip pecan. * sigh *

Re soda stream: 1 tablespoon of flavor is plenty for a lg tumbler / 20 oz. for us. I like more fizz than h. Does. He even adds unflavored like club soda just 1/4 cup unflavored to flat pop from over town.

I am happy to say I found some good recipe ideas in the booklet that came with my crock pot. I had been wondering how to make mac n cheese in it and had a recipe for that using evaporated milk I think my granny used that. I will try to use hot pepper cheese and sliced sausage cheese dogs. The kids and h. Will like it I think if not hens will eat it.

HI everyone!

CUE HALLELUJIAH CHORUS LOUD!!! Elizabeth's Own Appliance Repair has FIXED MY PRINTER!!! Since a printer is necessary to print and copy résumés, I was resigned to buying a new one. I did get it hand-me-down, so I could not complain too badly if it quit working, but I really am happy not to have the expense of a new one. After that, I went to the knit/crochet group and was able to stay later because cat clinic was cancelled for the holiday weekend. However, on Monday, I will need to take Pikachu and Charmander to meet some potential new people, but that's ok. I think tonight is the last night of William's eye meds. This coming week, I must take my car back to the shop, my check engine light is on. That, by itself, does not always mean there is a problem, but it is having definite symptoms as well. I'm hoping it is not a fuel pump.

Snark alert! The X asked for DD12 this weekend a while back and I agreed to it. However, there was an autism society event tonight that DD was planning on attending with me. No problem - I just gave the info to the X and told him that it was for families, and her stepbrother would be welcome there. It is an event at a spray park, and I know that is not something he or the other woman likes very well (although stepbrother will). And, of course, I sent him the info for church youth group. Apparently, DD is dead set on going there, so he is stuck with that as well. He doesn't like going to the church because it is the one we all went to and no one there approves of him and the other woman. Also, she is an atheist, so I am sure she just loves taking time out of her day to set foot in a church! Hee hee hee!
