Morning ya'll...
What I learned from P&P that changed my life and still use today.
Clean up the kitchen right after dinner, before I sat down
Set up a weekly schedulel for running the house.
Monday - House Blessing, laundry and change bedding
Tue - Free day
Wed - Desk day, mow the lawn
Thur - Grocery and errands
Friday - Misc... usually I revacuumned the living areas and did extra laundry
When I was working I had to adjust it a bit, but now that I am retired I have reverted back to this schedule, unless I am called in to sub.
Enter room, clean left to right.
Put basket...usually my laundry basket... in front of door so I can put articles that belong in other parts of the house in there instead of leaving the room to place them in other rooms. That way I didn't get sidetracked. That was HUGE for me and really cut down on my cleaning time.
Find homes for everything and put them back as soon as they are used.
Let go of emotions when decluttering
Nothing takes as long as you think it will, so just start and do it
Once I started following their plan, my house hummed. Back then I was up by 5:00 am for my quiet time, and found I could get much of my work done by 9:00
I learned much more using P&P's system...When I was working I did the same as Kathryn, I had my clothes ready the night before. And sometimes on Sunday nights I would hang a weeks worth of clothes according to the day. Made life a breeze.
I also adopted and brought the sister's system into my classroom. Many teachers loved how well my classroom ran and used it with their own rooms. I even gave workshops on how to use the sister's system using their desk as the sink.
Like I said the Sister's system was life changing for me.
I recently bought a food saver. Several of my friends have one and love them. Today I plan to make my spagetti sauce and will make a double batch. That way I will be able to freeze enough for another dinner. I like cooking that way and the food saver will allow me to keep my frozen foods for a longer time without getting freezer burned. I hate wasting food. I can also use it with foods I keep in my refridge. That way my fresh herbs will last longer and not go to waste. Will take me a while to learn how to use the food saver, but I'm looking forwards to using it.
Like Dee, I always make my bed as soon as I get up, unless Sweetie is still sleeping in it....but as soon as I know he is up I am in there doing it. However this is a habit I have always done.
