Hi everyone!

It's a misc day here for me. I spent the morning doing a lot of pickup & put away. Still have a project spread out on the dining room table, but I hope to finish that later this afternoon. I'm doing laundry, too, and decided to come here for my tea break while the dryer spins. Still need to empty the dishwasher & put away breakfast dishes. Dh went out to try & find corn & tomatoes -- the farm stand we normally use closed down last week so he is driving to another one in the next town.

When he comes home we will work together in the basement. We have made so much progress down there , decluttering, donating, & boxing up what we want to save. We should be ready to call the contractor by the end of the month for his estimate. We have a running list on the kitchen counter of all the things we want changed down there. We picked out a beautiful gas fireplace last week, & flooring, too. I can picture what it will look like when finished & am getting excited to begin the demo.

Ew, Twins, that's gross!

Kathryn and MT now my head is spinning thinking about all that. Started thinking why we are so concerned about other people's path in life. Each of us has our own path of progress or non-progress. Lots to consider.

Trying to get to that conga. Finished at my desk, bank statement reconciled, bills to the mail. Remembered to print off one statement very late last night and I only had a few days to get that one paid. All very well and good to get one's bills online, but I must remember to actually go to that site and print it off.

Here's my to-do:
finish tidying kitchen, lr, 2 bedrooms, dining room
run sweeper
mop floors
dust furniture
clean 3 bathrooms
sweep front and back porches - da__ frogs!
hang up LOL twirling now
clean leather furniture in family room

Off I go.

Morning ya'll...

My house is smelling good... Spaghetti sauce is cooking away. It's Sweeties favorite. I had to run to the grocery store early this morning because I didn't have any tomato sauce like I thought. Utah peaches are in... They are treasured much like the Ga ones are. I am going to make min-peach pies for Sweetie. A big one would be way to much temptation for me.

In between I will do some dusting and I need to unload my dish washer. Later to day I'll put on my crimson team shirt and turn the game on. I love Fall Sat. because I usually just piddle through the day doing whatever. I love to cook big meals and freeze them while watching football. We may go to a car show tonight now that the weather is cooler. I haven't hung out with our friends in a while so it will be fun to catch up.

Harmony: thinking is good. It is another sign you're on the right side of the grass! Gotta tell you, my seniors, because they don't have a lot of other things they have to do put a lot of time into thinking and challenging me. I love it!

Sermon is done. Still need to get the prayers of the people done and then the service is finished.

Ds woke up and I made him a lunch so I'd know he ate. He's been skipping meals like crazy (too tired to cook something when he wakes up and before he knows it, it is time to head off for work.) He'll be back here for supper too. I think we'll just do homemade shake & bake.

I just had a brownie. No good reason for that transgression which I now regret. It isn't like I just grabbed one, I had to pull it from the freezer and then let it defrost before eating.

I'm anxious to get the kitchen cleaned up but am waiting to finish the service. Off to see if I have prayers from another year that can be rewritten. *poof*

Oooh, spaghetti sauce smells so good. I rarely have time for anything other than the jar.
I do add my own meatballs.

Grey and cloudy and so far about 3 heavy rains. I'm working with bunch of lights on inside and it looks weird.

DH is back from his volunteer work at church. They took down a wall and rebuilt another. Water damage.

I sent him to store on way back from seeing customer, gave him a list, had to explain everything, different stuff than what he usually gets. We'll see what he brings back. Some is for small group tomorrow night. I don't care if it's the right stuff. My heart isn't in this. It'll be 6 weeks in a row, and that's very hard for me to keep up with, and I don't like the subject matter the church picked either.

So far:
One room completely picked up, furniture wiped, sheets and blanket in washer.
Emptied dryer, need to fold that.
Much pickup done in 3 rooms.

I'm not good at focusing on one spot at a time. But overall it's looking better.

I'm ADD-ing like mad today but the service is finally on the printer. I'm going to allow myself 15 of bouncing around, literally handling one item at a time, and then I'll try and focus on the kitchen for 45 minutes.

Hello, Everyone!

My 10-minute session is focusing on finishing my Seattle Seahawks' colors beaded necklace. I might make some silver wires earrings and a Memory Wire bracelet to match, too. I have snail mail to catch up on, would like to make a few Happy Autumn cards, and finish my childhood scrapbook. Edit: I'm stringing the beads onto a black string from my jewelry kit, but now I'm afraid it'll fray and break. Somehow, I'll "see" if I can re-string it on the metal wire or Tiger's Tail. It would be stronger.

I was up at 5:30 a.m., stayed up until 7 a.m. and slept until 10 a.m., but I've walked 1 mile already, and it was nice to get out into the fresh air/sunshine. Leaves have turned and fallen on the ground, with more to come.

I washed the pastels/whites and DH put them in the dryer, while I was resting. I dust mopped the 2 offices, bunny room, hall and part of the great room. I laid down to rest, when DH sprayed some orange polish or something like that, on a Swiffer dust mop sheet. He dust mopped our bedroom & closet, the great room, other hall and dining room and kitchen. We have fir floors in those rooms. I'm so glad he helped. Fleece blankets are washing now and then I'll do darks, if there's enough of a load. I want to wash dark towels, I know, for one thing, and put clean sheets on the bed from the linen cupboard. I wanted to do the counters and sinks in the kitchen and bathrooms, too. Ah... might as well hit the utility room while I'm at it, right? I don't know if I'll get to counters/sinks today, because of bad allergies and feeling drained. I can always do them on Sunday or this evening, if I feel better.

I received a letter from a long-standing pen pal. We've become friends now. She mentioned her DD's father, being tall, like her DD is, but she's single now and has been for years. She's never mentioned him before. Another pal said she was divorced and once, I blindly asked "Are you a widow or are you divorced?" She wrote back to say "We all make our mistakes." I felt so bad, for asking her, because it wasn't bringing up good memories for her. Now, she's become sort of like a sister-friend. I have a new pen pal, who has cancer, she's got the BEST ATTITUDE! She's wonderful! I love her outlook on life. It's just great. One other gal, who is new, is married to a miner. I've never written to a miner's wife before and she's very sweet, too. I'll work on snail mail on and off today. It's so relaxing, I get to know others, about their areas, where they live, their families and opinions on things. Pen palling is fun. Yes, it can get frustrating, too, but everything has that with it, even if it's something worthwhile and enjoyable. Sometimes things don't work out, but the majority of the time, it does. I feel blessed by the people who write me. It's like having a Village member in an envelope. You all bless me, too!

15 minutes made no discernible difference so I started in on the kitchen which looks much better now. Changed the kitchen linens so that meant I could start the load of laundry. That's in the dryer now.

Neither dh nor I had left the apartment building in the past 48 hours so I suggested walking to the grocery store and buying a bbq chicken for dinner tonight. We also needed milk. He carried the milk in one insulated bag, I put the chicken in another that clips to the bottom of my big backpack. It was raining but not cold. In fact we both were sweating when we came home.

Ds just arrived back when we did. Dinner took another 40 minutes because I had to help ds with some laundry. He had run in a Spartan Race over 2 weeks ago and is now just getting around to cleaning the clothes. They smell! It will be a test of my washer. I have detergent, Oxy Clean and vinegar for the rinse. Hopefully that gets it clean enough for tomorrow. Apparently, he feels well enough to run a half marathon (which he hasn't trained for) after work an overnight shift. Sigh....

On top of it all, TGF broke up with him as I was getting dinner on the table. I could hear him saying he had to go eat and then go back to bed and I could hear she was upset but I didn't expect that. I immediately lost my appetite and wanted to have a soda. Thankfully, there was just one left in the apartment and ds took it.

I'm feeling very sick now with worry over ds. I remember Lucylee and Harriet going down this road. It is my turn now.

He's back in bed for 3 hours before leaving for work at the last possible moment.

In the meantime, also while I was trying to get dinner on the table (trying out a new recipe for bruschetta) we got word we'll be having guests for dinner tomorrow night too. So I have to get the apartment tidied up tonight and get the dinner all planned and table set before I leave for church in the morning.

Kathryn, maybe they'll work it out later?

I'm still at it. Mighty slow. Aching all over. Did the master bedroom and bathroom & closets, all the floors and furniture, shook out all the throw rugs and vacuumed the area rug. Did the hallway and laundry room, then had to redo them after dh came in.

It's been raining all afternoon, but has finally quit. Swales here are full and retention pond across the street is partially full. That was a bunch of rain! dh was in and out of the rain and he came home soaked and with muddy feet.

Working on the family room. 3/4 done. in back of furniture even. Need to clean up from dinner too, I stopped to cook tonight. I got most of the living room done too. This is too much work.

LM - how is our boy doing?

He is doing AWESOME! Except for that dratted YY(#)@&*)U@$Y* bandage won't finish coming off. We both are exhausted from working on it. Several times a day we get a few more strings pulled off. Each time we get a bit more of the bandage off, but it causes bleeding and pain. LO breaks out in a sweat - even on his upper lip. I feel so bad for him. My nerves are about shot from repeatedly working on it and a part of me just wants to throw my hands up and put my head in the sand and forget about doing it. I called the surgeon in the big city hospital and asked for his guidance. He said sometimes it is just hard to get off. He said to soak LO in warm bathwater and maybe the bandage will loosen up (post-op instructions were no soaking but the surgeon is over riding those instructions now).

TOTALLY TOO MUCH INFORMATION - SKIPPABLE!
The whole reason why LO had to have this surgery was he had reached a point where he could barely P. It was a TEENY-TINY little hole the urine could barely coming out. THE SURGERY WAS A COMPLETE SUCCESS IN SOLVING THAT!1 LO was very proud to report that he can now stand 10' or so away from the fence and P on the fence. I can't believe I'm sharing this information here but it caught me off guard and made me laugh when he came inside so excited and told me about his new ability. He has never been able to do this and the new ability has him totally fascinated with the height and distance he can now reach. Writing this down makes it seem weird or something, but I can only tell you this is BIG news to a little boy.

Whining..........I want my life back. One that doesn't deal with little boy parts. I was whining to DDIL about it and she encouraged me to hang in there. She assured me the hard part of the recovery will soon be over. I'm hanging on to those words and repeating them over and over. When we get the bandage off we are going to have a PARTY!
