So far my day has not been a success, although I did manage to get the brisket together and into the oven.

Worked 30 min now breaking for 5 minutes. Talked to dh and he thinks he will be home around 6:15. Perhaps I should consider cooking something this evening?

I got the dog poop picked up and cleaned up the kitchen from the brisket assembly...need to continue and empty/purge and wipe out refrigerator also.

Going again for 25, then will break for 5.

Afternoon ya'll..

I've been working on the house most of the day. Will finish up tomorrow because Sweetie and I are about to watch a movie

Twins...I haven't touched my genealogy stuff since I came home. Just got too burned out, but am about to pick it up again. I have several other sites that I use that may help you. Give me a day or two and I will PM you with it...unless anyone else is interested in it.

Think it will take me most of the day to finish the house...I am doing a fall cleaning, which takes longer than just a regular house blessing for me. Key will be getting up early and attacking at the hight of my enegery level. I sort of fall off by the time mid-afternoon shows up. Got to thinking about why it seemed to be so much easier to do an entire house when I was younger, and then realized I ususally started around 6 in the morning. That worked well for me, but its hard to do that now when Sweetie is still sleeping. In my other homes, the sleeping areas were at on side of the house, or on the second floor, so I could avoid waking people up while they slept. Can't really do that here...but I could let Sweetie know my plans the night before...he doesn't mind getting up early. Hummmm, need to think some more about that ...

I am going to have to do more cleaning in the rooms that have lights again now, so back to my bwp next week.

Got out one more small but hard to get to plant during half time h. Helped hold pokey branches out of the way but have a few scratches on my arms ouch. Time to put something on it.

When the baby is here she helps water with the kiddie waterer playing with the water putting iton plants and grass is fun for her while I use the hose.

I had to round up the hens & chicks and got them inside the back yd. Again. H. Is going to grill for dinner.

Got bs back in my target range again.

At church today I ended up becoming an official substitute song leader. So first Sunday will be next week. I hope it will be all right. The next time, a Sunday in October, our pianist will also have a substitute, so that will be interesting. Dd sings just about every week.

I am sorry to see this weekend come to an end. I feel as though the weekdays bring so many nagging responsibilities of phone calls I'm supposed to return, decisions I'm supposed to make, people disappointed that I'm not going along with their ideas, etc. So nice over the weekend to be "shed" of that.

I had placed a pair of shoes on hold at Kohl's and took dd to try them on this afternoon. Nope. Painful stiff heels meant that the cuteness of the shoe was useless. But she did find two others and very reasonable with a coupon.

Then later took her to youth group. This week we have 3 more church evening events. I just don't see how we can be much of a part - we would be racing home afterward just to quickly get ready for bed. I wish the school system could have acted more quickly on moving high school bell schedule back. They had to have a big committee, have surveys, a task force on specific issues, and wait and wait, while research just piled up and up, and by now everyone is going to a later schedule while we are "looking forward to a change, next school year".

Day is almost done. Only kitchen duty to finish up and this kitchen cleans up quickly.

Got off to church in plenty of time to set up the Sunday School room. Completely forgot that CM had declared this Sunday a Potluck Lunch so had nothing but the lunch I had made for myself. How ironic that it sat untouched and I ate assorted things that probably weren't healthy! I knew ds had several bags of chips at the house so that was our contribution to the 'pot.'

Sunday school went really smoothly. A little rough at the start but there were only 5 and the rambunctious one settled down because I was able to sit beside him and work with him until he was engrossed in the task. His mother was completely shocked to arrive and find him diligently working away.

We dropped stuff at the house and I worked on finding out what was smelling in the kitchen. No obvious culprit. Both the stove area and the fridge were areas with the highest concentration of the smell so I cleaned the stove top and tossed whatever I could from the fridge. I'll clean the fridge after ds moves out and then turn it off, leaving it with the door open.

Next stop was my service at the senior's residence. They were my delight as usual. Then on to the grocery store and home.

Ds was up and he headed off without bothering to meet our friends (he left during the apartment tour.) We had a delightful visit, good meal and the husband is an aspiring author and his book is in final edits now so he did a reading from it for us.

Now to clean up and head to bed. I'm exhausted but it was a very successful day.

Long day and there have been better. Dh and I went to church this morning. One of the first announcements was that there have been numerous break ins to cars during worship at nearby churches. So pastor advised anyone who had left cars unlocked or valuables fairly visible that then was a good time to go change those issues. Not that locking is stopping burglars -seems there's been a number of broken windows as well. Dh went to retrieve his cell phone which he usually leaves in the car. Soon another young man went out and didn't come back. Figured he got a call from work or something -oh no. When he went out to check their car a cycle went by at a very low speed. So he stayed out there and after several minutes the cycle came back, again at a low speed so he called 911. Actually dh was able to report before announcements were over (and before this incident) that the local police were out patrolling our parking lot as we spoke. Hopefully these person(s) will be caught soon. The expressway to the city ends about a block and a half down the street from our church. We had thefts before -years ago and a lot of physical damage so not unheard of. They did see things of this sort pick up after the expressway was built. That's been a while because I was still working there at that point.

Stayed after church for a while to help start emptying our sanctuary of all the bits & pieces and take apart the pews in preparation for them to be moved to our fellowship hall. This was our last Sunday for worship at our church. Next week we start utilizing a church about 2 miles down the road for the next 3 months or so. Work will commence a week from tomorrow on the roof and sanctuary. Want to get down there next week if I can and shoot some pictures. Sure I won't be the only one.

DD has gone back to FL -she texted they'd landed in Atlanta a while ago. Think she's due in FL about 10:30. She found out yesterday that she has jury duty tomorrow so no school for her tomorrow. Actually it's a day off for students and she had meetings so she's not unhappy about that.

Going to bed -just took two t ylenol and 2 ben adryl hoping I'll sleep. Have things on my mind that I'm trying to avoid thinking about. Wish me luck with that.

Hoping LO can magically be better tomorrow, LadyM. Do you know how hard it is to stop saying "Okay"?

Nice title for today, Kathryn . I enjoy reading about your new home & your new views from high above the ground. ((Hugs)) for your dson & all the family as I know how fond you all were of his girlfriend.

My main accomplishment this summer was cleaning out & decluttering the basement with dh help. While we have been chipping away at it for years, so much was done this summer.

No preparations are being made here for the change of seasons, although I have been thinking about when I'll put up some fall decorations. When we were at S ams last week they had huge bins of beautiful pumpkins but I just wasn't ready yet.

It is hard to narrow down my favorite parts of autumn, so I'll list my top 3: cooler temps, all the different leaf colors, & the sound of dry leaves crunching when you walk on them.

Lady Maverick, I'm so glad LO is doing well, & thought the story about his new abilities was both sweet & funny.

Hi Feline Friend. Yes, I was able to finish the project on the dining room table. I had taken a big basket of misc makeup products from the closet & organized them after tossing some that were old. Now they are in smaller stackable containers with lids, separated by type: eyes, face, lips & nail polishes. It will be so much easier to find what I need now.

I had a coupon for B arnes & N oble, & dh & I took a drive today to one we have not been in before. It was crazy busy, starting in the parking lot. I reminded dh that this is why we try not to shop on weekends . Had a nice time browsing, & on the way home we stopped for burgers for dinner & then at L owes to check out cabinets & counters for the laundry room (which will be part of the basement renovation). Found a flyer with all the cabinets listed by size, along with pictures, which was very helpful. We will do some more measuring this week & figure out how to arrange the space. I'm really looking forward to having all that storage, plus a big counter to fold on.
