I do better when I take a few minutes each hour and regroup. I like to mark progress in OneNote journal and post here when time is available. Then I'm ready to start the next hour focus. Repeat. repeat.

This morning the phone has been busy with family/friends calling to check on LO. Only the closest to us know about his surgery so I'm having to repeat his current status to individuals instead of doing an information update message on FB. THIS IS ALL i HAVE TO WHINE ABOUT???? Yippppeeeeeee!!!!!

Whine is perfectly okay.

Dh and I went to E Jones to sign some papers and stopped at T im H Orton's on the way back for a quick lunch and something to drink. Back home now and I think I'll read for a little bit before I delve into my closet & dresser. Most likely I'll doze off -I usually do.

I never gave customs a thought, Kathryn. Not sure what the policy was with the shoe company. Durn -sounded like a good place for you.

Kathryn, sent you an email with the site on it if you decide you want to look. Actually I sent 2 because I forgot to add the site to the first email.

I decided to relax a bit. I watched the pilot episode of Madam Secretary while sorting medical paperwork.

Lunch was hot links, potato patties, green salad with homemade sweet/tangy dressing. DH and I put our feet up and watch an episode of Blue Blood while eating.

It has been a much needed break.

DD is txting her progress again. Either "he" turned the phone back on or the state of Wyoming is mostly a dead area for cell coverage. She is nearing Laramie and can use cell phone again. They have 982 miles (14 hours estimated) to go.

No news from LO school. THIS is good news!!! I mentally gave him 50% chance of making it through the day without a mishap. Although I'll remain ready to dash out the door, I'm starting to think he might make it through the entire day.

Had an on target # before lunch! Yippie.
Called the Rx place to ask a q on how long that dose lasts after I take it should have thought to do this before it lasts 8-12 hrs. Not 6 hrs. sheesh no wonder I was having a roller coaster of readings last week!

Lunch is done hens have been rounded up.
Laundry dry folded and put away.
Toy Hot spot doused.

Oh shades of "Mom"! I'm having a slice of canned brown bread with raisins. I can remember my Mom making just such a bread, baked in a can when I was young. Haven't had any in YEARS! I'm thoroughly enjoying it with some cream cheese. Wonder what ever happened to that recipe......

I read and snoozed for just a little while. Now I should get on with my plan from this morning>>>>>>>>>>>

Dee - Sounds so good! DH DGMother used to make pumpkin bread and bake it in a 1 lb coffee can. I haven't thought about it in a long time, but it does sound good!

As soon as I hit submit on my last post, the school called. I was ready to hear about LO having a mishap but instead it was them telling me today was LO snack day and I didn't send anything. YIKES! I haven't been watching the calendar events because we have basically cancelled everything while LO was recovering. Thankfully I had bought snacks and drinks a couple weeks ago and had them ready to go. I grabbed them and headed out the door to school. LO classmates (and teacher) was very appreciative.

DD just crossed into Colorado.

I brought LO backpack home loaded with school pictures, homework, weekly letters, fund raisers and a thick stack of homemade get-well cards from his classmates. Yug. Guessing about 100 pieces of paper to sort and deal with.

(((Dee))) I have a recipe for a yeast bread, baked in 1 lb. coffee cans. Once it is mixed up, you put it in the 2 greased coffee cans and put the plastic lids on. Once it has raised, it is then baked. The texture is dense but I love the flavor and it makes great toast. So I hoard the 6 coffee cans that I had collected before coffee was sold in plastic containers.

LadyMaverick, I will be relieved when you can tell us that your dd has safely arrived at her destination.

Dh and I were suppose to leave tomorrow for our 6 day trip. Last night we decided not to go. I am still having this cough even though I started taking C laritin. I don't know if it is contagious but I don't want to take it to dm, db, dsisil, daunt or anyone else. Daunt is taking chemo for lung cancer and as much as I want to see her, I can't in good conscience go with the cough. Dsisil's dm had an MRI last Friday. They told her they would know the results in a week. 2 hours later they called and set up an appt for today with a surgeon, so that she can have a biopsy on Thursday. She has had breast cancer twice. Dsisil said her mother is real bloated and looks like her grandma did when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I so wanted to be with dsisil while her dm has the biopsy but I can't take any chances.

I told dh that there was no reason he couldn't go, but he said he had lost interest in this bike trip but would have went so I could have the time with family. He did say he would go ahead and take the vacation time, so that he can do some stuff around here. He plans to work on the fascia of the house, so that we can get guttering.

I just remembered that I needed to cancel the hotel room for Wednesday and Thursday. That is now done.

I haven't seen dm for a year now. I have never went this long without seeing her. I told her today that the 2 little girls would be in "The Nutcracker" performed by their dance classes in Dec. She decided to come out for that. She will drive to her db's in the big city and take the bus from there. She doesn't want to venture out here because of the chance of snow. But riding the bus won't be such an issue.

Guess I better do some research on the bus service.

Today has been pretty much a loss so far. I did a few things this morning and was out the door for lunch w dfriend, then from there to pedicure. Somewhere along the way I developed a major headache and took ibuprofen on my way to the pedicure. Back home my head was still throbbing so I took tylenol and laid down for an hour. I think I'm a little better and hoping it doesn't come back on me.

I must get busy. Must.

Five more things:
-find pruners so I can trim some hydrangea stems for bouquets
-finish pantry closet clean up - I impulsively (i.e. sidetracked) pulled out stuff so I could clean the bottom of it
-bake up the cookie dough
-look for additional meds for ds and text him about getting them to him
-clear breakfast bar and kitchen counters as much as possible

I think we're dealing w/that here too, though dh won't admit it. Stubborn, stubborn man I have on my hands...

Well. Another day when I least I feel I managed SOMETHING. Posting w/out cuop...
Mammogram -- done.
Shopping for purse -- done.

I am not impressed w/the mammogram in farther location where doctor recommended this time. Doctor talked like I would leave there w/all questions confirmed, 100% all clear or a definite no, no, we have trouble. * sheesh * I left knowing nothing. "Get dressed and you are free to go; _____ will call you if there are any problems, if she needs more pictures or an ultrasound. If she doesn't call, you'll get a letter confirming that everything was fine." And they did say I would most likely hear from her within a day if there were any problems... but * sheesh * At the hospital in the nearer location, the radiologist reads the test immediately, and a local church provides soft drinks and cookies while you wait. I was very disappointed not to get my results today, and NO COOKIES for my trouble? * sheesh * I believe I will go back to the old location next time. * pout *

Purse -- I think it is slightly larger than my old one, which most people think is too large, but I sorta fell in love at first sight, especially with the price. Do y'all know designer purses now cost over $400??? Not for this girl... Ugh. I felt out of my element in Dillards. I didn't even step foot in Ann Taylor, Harriet. Just kept on walking... But at Belk in the larger city I found one (one of their store brands, maybe? New Directions is the brand name. Anyway -- at 30% off, it was only slightly over $60. So I was well pleased. So far, anyway. Haven't actually transferred my stuff.

Also called dbil and told him we had one additional ticket for ballgame Saturday. More on that in J&C.
