Re: Gracious Friday
Twins: Did you blow the shofar 100 times? (That's what my guide said was to happen! At dawn!!!!)
Attended to the washer and dryer. Went to the mail room for the flyers but they still aren't there. Sigh... Last week they were put in around 9 p.m. This week we went at 7 and then this morning. The cleaning staff recycle them fast so you really only have a couple of hours before they are taken away, plus there aren't enough for everyone so if you aren't there immediately, you won't get a full set (some people leave the ones they don't want behind.) Very frustrating since our closest store will price match so having the flyers is very convenient.
I want to go out now but will wait for ds. He just called to say he'll be here in 45 minutes. He was calling from the new apartment! He went to sign the lease and they gave him the keys and said he could move in whenever he wanted, they wouldn't charge him for the extra 5 days. He sounds so happy.
He was going to come here to live for the last week because the house is so depressing. Now we can move him in there instead. I'll find extra clean sheets for his bed and I bet he'll be in there tonight (actually tomorrow since he has a shift tonight) since his bed breaks down and goes in his car. I don't want him making up the bed with dirty sheets and I know he won't clean them today!
Still need to book a truck but now that he can get in early, I'll wait until he gets here and see which date is best.

Re: Gracious Friday
And Now We Do The Dance Of Joy!
My baby boy called, just as ordinary as can be.
"Hey. Whatcha doin'?"
"Cleaning up a little. What are you doin'?"
"Ohhhh.... fighting traffic. Say, some of the guys were wondering what it would be like to have 6 grandchildren. So I told them I'd ask my Mom."
"What? Well, I know each one of you seemed like two at a time, but you weren't really that bad... .."
"No, No. Not children, GRANDCHILDREN."
"Well (realization dawning)... the more the merrier.... merry, merry merry ..."
"Well, we're pregnant! We just had the Doppler and the day is April 11."
I put the phone down toward my feet and tapped out The Dance Of Joy !!! And asked if he could hear it. Ddil hiding on speakerphone said yes she could!
Doppler must be fancy careful ultrasound? Whatever it is it's a good thing.
I'm allowed to tell ya'll and dcousinMary and otherwise keep my happy mouth shut as they call around!

Happy Dance for Harriet!!! (And ds and ddil!)
Ds is on the phone now. It is harder to find a truck for the first of the month than he expected. I'm not surprised. Perhaps deluded (I should have booked something the moment he signed a lease) but not surprised.
If we can get a van with unlimited mileage, then we'll just make lots of trips.
Got a van for Monday. George works overnight Sun/Mon so it will be a rough day for him. I'm telling him to get packed and stuff staged in the garage. He'll go to the apartment Monday morning (around 6:30) and sleep. We'll pick up the rental truck at 8 and take it out to the house - load up as much as we can into the truck and car and then drive to ds's. He should get about 4 hours sleep. After unloading, we'll go get the captain's bed from dd's and then after unloading that, back out to the house for everything else.
Need to go buy a tarp now for the bedroom floor at ds's place.

Sounds like a plan, Kathryn!
Harriet, what great news! Do you think you'll get a girl grandbaby this time? LOL! How wonderful for ds and ddil and your whole family.
I still didn't get s2s so will do that next and then head out to dmom's. Might do some back patio straightening up before I leave too. Then the view from the front door will be back to normal at least.

Re: Gracious Friday
Happy dancing here too, Harriet. Tell them congratulations from us when the time is right! Maybe you'll even get a granddaughter. Well, we'll see won't we.
Have to go back to the laundry room & get my clothes. Big snafu there but it produced an excellent idea (at least I think so) for the laundry rooms. Going to run it by dfriend/camp manager in a half hour or so. Think she'll like it.
Off I go -lunch is done, but the dishes still await.

Re: Gracious Friday
Morning ya'll...
Harriet...you can dance your Happpy dance to this Happy song
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-GLuydiMe4
(now I'm gonna be singing this song all day in my head
)
I am having a lazy day. Got up and read my new Southern Living mag with my coffee. Then I picked up footprints and did my morning routines.
Have a dental appointment later this afternoon...no NOT happy about that. I have very sensitive teeth and hate going to the dentist. Am having the resident orthodontics look at my teeth. For some reason during my ahmmm, elder years my top teeth are shifting causing the right side tooth next to my front one to slide under it. If it keeps going I am going to end up with a buck tooth.
I do not like entertaining the thought of braces at my age. Seems kind of silly, so I am hoping the dentist can come up with a reasonable and affordable way to remedy the situation.
Somebody mentioned library books which reminded me of a book I have due today. My library is an opposite drive from the dentist...so I need to allow time for that, plus I can never just drop off a book, I have to go inside to see what is new. I've loved going to the library since I was in 3rd grade and by chance discovered the Little House on the Praire series. By pure accident I happened to pick out "Little House in the Big Woods" ...perhaps it was divine intervention ... and that began my love for reading. Not knowing a thing about how libraries worked, I figured if I went back to the same place on the same shelf that perhaps the book sitting next to the one I had just read would be good too. Of course you know what happened after that.
After school, while others raced home with their friends on their bikes, I would head to the library. I lived in a small town and it was just around the corner from the school. Spent many happy hours crusin' that small, in the basement, musty smelling place that opened my world in ways I never dreamed were possible. I still get that same feeling when I enter any library.
Off to do something with my wild "lion" hair. I let it dry natural yesterday and now I need to do a bit of taming
BTW...I love the mental image of Lucylee sitting on the back of a convertable waving to the crowds...that must have been a sight to see ...
Ya'll have a great day....cya'll

Re: Gracious Friday
Oh how I love the "Little House" books. I have a complete set and am anxious to introduce 5 year old ggd to them. Funny, but once in awhile I drag them out and re-read them. In elementary school in a very small town in Eastern Oregon I hung around the town library a lot and became really good friends with the elderly librarian, Mrs. Green. I loved her like a Grandmother and she introduced me to so many books. Most of my collection of Nancy Drew books were given to me by her when the library would get new ones. I treasure them.
Harriet, so happy for you and your news. I am hoping you get your baby girl this time around. It has to happen soon for you.
Mr. Guy and I went for breakfast at a new place we recently found. The Huevo Rancheros are to die for. (A little hot for me, but I can manage.)
We awoke this morning to rain.
We are so dry and need it so badly. Just over the Sierras we have a huge fire going that has already destroyed thousands of acres. They have been fighting it for weeks now and I know they enjoyed that rain last night. Supposedly the higher reaches around us will be getting 4" of snow tonight. We shall see!
Sometimes it just doesn't happen.

Re: Gracious Friday
Also -- so glad things went so well with your party, Twins! That was such a sweet note from your dfriend.
Loved the Little House books, too, Norma.
Glad to hear your day is off to a better start, Nancy!!!
(((RR))) You know they have the Invisilign (sp???) braces now that really are almost invisible. Hope you can get a good solution soon. My dmom has battled this sort of problem for so long.
First library I ever used was in the damp, musty basement of our courthouse... fun memories.
Gotta s2s and tame my hair again, too... seeing a lot of classmates at part one of our reunion tonight. DS is going to sit w/dh and I will try to sit with my lifelong best friend and her husband w/our classmates. She and I live less than 5 miles apart, but we go to different churches and our lives have taken such different paths -- she is childless and is still working, while I've retired and life revolves around ds/ddil/dgs... but still --- whenever we meet, it's like we just parted yesterday. We probably met in the church nursery as toddlers, but I know we started kindergarten together and we were pretty much inseparable till after college. So nice to have connections like that, that last a lifetime. Our class had 128 members, and most of us started together at least by 1st grade, so really, we all know each other, and a good part of us still live here in the general area -- so I don't mind so much missing part two, the dinner tomorrow night.
* Also OMM * Y'all cross your fingers for me here (say a prayer) -- DH would really like to go the local fair w/dgs this year, so I asked ds to ask ddil if we'd be "horning in" too much if we accompanied them. They didn't even take dgs last year (!) but they went themselves, alone! DS said he would run this idea by ddil, and he thought it would probably be fine with her -- if we wouldn't be attached at the hip to them, they could go off and do their own thing after letting dgs ride the stuff he could ride, and we could watch him, so it could be the best of both worlds, date night for them and dgs fun for us. I told him to remind her we are giving her her "space" next week, b/c we are taking dgs to the festival (along w/ds) while she works W-F. That's going to be a tough 3 days, I'm afraid.
Waving to Dee... Kathryn... (good luck w/the truck/van!)... waving to ALL!!!
Must * MUST * get s2s and get this day underway!!!
