Harmony, I had responded the other day to Sunny who said the same thing. We don't get them.

((Hugs)) all 'round for those who had poor sleep. HRH did, too. I found him on the couch shivering after my alarm went off this a.m. I told him, if you're going to go to the couch for my benefit, thanks but please take a blanket!

I get sidetracked, too, Kathryn - can see myself doing that (walking a few steps from pills and then forgetting pills). When I go in search of scissors I make a scissors motion with my hand absentmindedly, and I think it's to keep from forgetting what I was after. Obviously, my brain has great responsibility and can't be bothered with incidentals.

I went back to my chores and
:) finished all the laundry through to put-away or drip-dry.
:) started on the counters with a deep clean and got all the way from stove to sink.
 took the window apart and cleaned, even the bugs on the outer sill

had a morning cup of coffee with heavy cream
had a noon lunch of egg, bacon and cheese made myself.

The only thing that breakfast misses from my FAVORITE breakfast out, is the croissant from a BK croissan-wich. And I don't have to drive anywhere. (seriously considering buying croissants, though. No, No! Bad! Mustn't do it.)

HRH got an email from a friend's wife. He was so impressed by her concern for her husband that he is immediately taking time from his day and heading over to their house to check on friend. Friend has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, which in our experience is often a precursor to decades of monitoring or procedures, but not immediate alarm. Friend's wife is usually quite laid-back and simply rolls her eyes at her dh most of the time, in just about any situation, but she is alarmed today. So HRH is going over there to hang out and pretend he's not aware of wife's upset, and see if there's anything he can do or add or reassure.

Next up, rearranging the front bathroom floor cabinet space.

What does it say about my attitude today that I assumed that meant LM played solitaire on the computer for 5 hours (and did well!)

My hair is coloured and looking much nicer in my opinion (dh prefers the grey but my self-confidence/attitude isn't back to the point where I can leave the grey.) Of course, I smell awful because henna really stinks. It will be a few days for the smell to go away (possibly faster if I go swimming since it will be replaced with chlorine!) Still not sure what the pool water will do to my hair colour. The first couple of swims seemed to strip the blonde out faster. Stripping blonde is ok, turning it another colour isn't and I'm not sure what will happen. I think my next time in the pool might be an aquafit class where I don't have to get my head in the pool.

Harriet: don't forget to tell us what HRH finds out. I'd hate to be left hanging.

The day started lovely and is now overcast and I see water drops on the window. Sigh...

I need to make myself a lunch of some sort. We have eggs and bacon so I won't starve but I'm still short a lot of food in the fridge. Tomorrow we have the paperwork signing at the lawyers for 11 which means leaving here at 10:30 so I need to have our luncheon food all set and the apartment ready to receive guests by then. We'll drive straight from the lawyer to the airport.

MOJO? What is this mojo y'all speak of? I don't know if I have ever had any. Hmmm... I'll keep looking.

Monday morning so far --
I have talked to car dealership. DH broke the handle off the car seat Saturday, the lever that reclines the seat. So right, I'm the one who has to take the car over there and get it repaired. They said to come tomorrow.
Also need to take the car today to express oil change place, even though we have a coupon to get it done for $9.95 @ the dealership. DH is so OCD that he cannot wait one more day, "It's 100 miles past time now," yada yada yada.
And yes... I am the one doing all this. * sheesh * If there is any truth to recent complaints that a certain YOUNG man doesn't do _____ at their house... well, I guess it is a learned behavior."
DH thinks he DOES stuff here. He thinks he is busy all the time. Talk about living on Fantasy Island.

Oh my... I think that mojo stuff is moving even farther and farther away.

Anyway, since car dealership can't see me till tomorrow, I plan to do my walking... and then s2s and get the oil changed. I also need to do another load of laundry. And dgs will be here around 4:00/4:30 for an hour or so while ds gives banjo lessons.
I think dh is going to take me to see Gone Girl tonight. That will redeem him a bit in my eyes. I have been talking about this movie ever since I finished the book. I cannot wait to see it!
Tomorrow, I'll get the lever fixed and return my purse to B elk. Maybe shop some more for a better replacement.
MAYBE have lunch w/dxsisil -- she told me at the ballgame, for the second time -- to call her sometime when I am over there (in next town) and we would have lunch.

Thinking of HRH's dfriend and family... in our experience, prostate cancer has been the very best cancer to have, if that makes any sense. Ddad had an excellent result from his surgery, as did quite a few of his dfriends, and duncle's prognosis is very good. Ddad's leukemia was not related to the prostate cancer in any way. Prostate cancer surgery probably does leave men with some side-effects that they'd prefer not to discuss with us ladies, but it seems a small price to pay for being told one is cancer-free.

We will get flu shots, but dh doesn't like to get them until mid-October. He fears they will "run out" too soon if we get them sooner.

Oh -- I definitely can take two steps away from an item and forget all about it, Kathryn. I spend a lot of time thinking about the hereafter. (You know, walking into a room and thinking, "Now what am I here after?"

How exciting for your ds to be on the sidelines at the ballgame, LadyM! I hope his team won!

All right... it's almost 12:30. I guess I better get moving.

Dear Dee, HOW did YOU KNOW- that last night, I put up my "MONDAY MOJO" daily focus card in my small office, to spur me on today? Wowie-Zowie, Gal! Your mind's in sync with mine! Cool! 8-) ;)

My "Monday Mojo" had me bleaching towels this a.m., DH is drying them, and I'm getting ready to wash dark towels now. I have more LOL to do, too, a bedroom, offices and bunny room to dust, etc... I was researching a story, but the website given on TV was a bust and not what I was looking for. I'll keep with my info from http://www.e-how.cominstead. Only need to outline and hand-write this 1 story. I have 1 story to log and this story (I'm about to outline) to log, too. Then I'll be done with the Jan. stories by the Oct. 24 deadline. :P I'll slowly get going on Feb. ones after that, focusing on Valentine's Day, but also keeping in mind, how I can make generic stories, about love, which can be any time of year. Am not feeling 100% today, so don't know how much "Mojo" I can muster. Something disagreed with me last night, (cereal), and my a.m. coffee disagreed with me, too. Allergies are here today, too. :( :? Just am going to baby-step the day and crochet on DGS-3.5's afghan, until I'm done! I have only 19 rows or less, to go before adding the dark teal blue border. Oh, my. DH and I believe it's very pretty. When the holidays crochet is done, I plan on making my own scap afghan using the same pattern as DGS-3.5's, which is 3 rows of color, throughout. It makes it so colorful, it's a warm stitch, and looks like a dream. I DO love this pattern. :P I used it for DGS-5.5's afghan and years ago, it was for DGS-17.5, in grey, black, burgundy and off-white. What a beautiful afghan it was. I'm not meaning to "toot my horn" or anything of the kind. I just thought maybe somebody else may want to knit, crochet or sew similar colors, because they're so rich and nice for a boy or man.

Lucylee, Gone Girl, looks so good on the ads on TV! LOVE Ben Afleck, too! :D You enjoy, Girl! :!:Lucky YOU! ;)

Harriet, I'm thinking of HRH's Dfriend and family, too. We had a Dfriend, who had surgery, and he overcame it, went into remission with a certain treatment and surgery. DH's Ddad passed away from the treatment they used to eradicate the prostate cancer, however, but we've known others who have beat it, too. All my best to HRH, too.

LadyM, I'm glad you're playing with heart. :)

Kathryn, Your hair sounds nice. :D You look so natural in your photos here, too. :)

Nancy, I'm doing a LOL day, too. :)

Harmony, Good going on getting so much done and getting the house into tip-top condition, too! WTG! :P

Waving at Twins' Mom and those who arrive after me. :D

I need to get "going" on the LOL again and plotting out and hand-writing the story, finishing the holiday afghan, and get started on finishing the assembly of DGS-21 months, Butterflies Granny afghan. 1 row is assembled. But I need to crochet more pink butterflies edged in raspberry and sew them onto bodies, sewn on the white Grannies. The pattern's at http://www.redheart.com There are 2 photos of it, one's a bit blurry. I didn't do their lacy white squares, as it was too holey. I did a Granny square instead, to make it warmer, easier to do by heart, and it turns out better-to-me, too. :) I'm doing 5 squares across and 6 squares down, making it roughly (with border) 40" x 50" or so, or 40" x 52". Good size for a little girl to grow in to. Oh, my. Last night- I GOT LOST ON THE COMPUTER!   I got totally "sidetracked" I got a bee in my bonnet, to crochet DGD a poncho for her gift, came across 4, but now I want to make her 2. 1 is like a caplet in pink with grey trim, but I want to do a pink one with off-white trim. The other one, I'm thinking about making in a variegated yarn (first meant for DGD's afghan border) for a poncho from Lion Brand. I tried and tried to print the pattern up last night, it kept saying "error", but FINALLY I "absorbed" into my small mind- the FAX MACHINE things were on and NOT printer! Dunno how that happened. It was just too funny, how long it took me to figure it out, too. Oh, my. What a dummy I was. But it was wonderful to leave crochet and baseball to get "lost on the Internet" for awhile. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. It was so much fun.

HAPPY MONDAY MOJO DAY, EVERYONE! :D

I refused to get the flu shot for several years but our family doctor is insistent that we had to start getting them when we turned 60 (aka elderly). We decided a few years ago that we would quit fighting our Doc on this matter. Either we trust him to make best medical decision or we don't. With LO we did whatever his pediatrican said to keep his medical record clean that was part of the court record. This year we do have the option of LO not getting flu mist since he isn't in the court system anymore, but will go ahead and follow his doc's recommendation. Again, it comes down to....either we trust his doc or we don't. Both of these doctors are not just our medical doctor but also consider them friends. One we have known for 30+ years and treats multiple generations of our family. DH attended school with other doctor so we have known over him over 50+ years. Thirty some years ago, he was our pediatric doc when our "old" kids were little. I'm not sure I would have same trust in any other medical doctors.

Playing solitaire for hours? What a delicious thought! Maybe someday I will do it.

Second load of clothes hanging out on "make do"clothesline. I will be soo glad when I have working LOL equipment again.

About 4 lbs of pork is processed to freezer. I cooked it slowly in BBQ sauce and it came out so tender and favorable. The other 8 lbs are still cooking. I don't have time to let it cool down before leaving so I will let it cook until I get home tonight.

Next up
** Get LO out of school
** LO pediatrician for flu mist
** My doc for flu shot
** LO to audiologist for hearing test
** followed by exam by ENT doc to make sure all is well with ear tubes
** LO to Karate class

YIKES! 4 medical visits this afternoon. No wonder I have such a hard time keeping up with our medical records. I am sooo far behind but already have over 100 medical occurrences recorded this year. I noticed last week that LO yearly medical cost has already exceeded $33k this year!!!! Thank goodness for good insurance! So far this year we are averaging 9% out of pocket.

Guess it was mental telepathy, FF. Great minds do think alike you know!

Just got back from a fairly lengthy trip to get those slacks. Went to town 14 miles away and they didn't have any but found the peanut butter wafer cookies dh wanted so got him 3 packages. Those will have to last him. :D Also got a package of sugar free French vanilla non-refrigerated creamers to take with me. From there I went to the town that's 22 miles from me -all for a pair of $8.94 slacks. I looked & looked & was on my way out and spied the slacks of the type I was looking for -wallah! Just one pair in my size -grabbed it, left and paid for them and was on my way.

Did that round of tasks, and also cleared out the cabinet where I keep pots and pans, and did some purging and got everything back in and organized. Our drawer under the oven doubles as a second oven and we had used it for Rosh Hashanah warming, so I got some flat pans back into there. Also a leisurely lunch looking at stamping supplies and ideas online. :D
MOJO? What is this mojo y'all speak of? I don't know if I have ever had any. Hmmm... I'll keep looking.
I'm right there with Lucylee for today.

I just sent a lengthy email to the temple secretary. The issue was something she should have done some digging on before emailing all the rest of us as she had all the materials and correspondence.

I'm trying to figure out what to do next....give it up for the day and relax or actually try to finish a.m. routine.

Hi everyone! Today started with Monday MOPE not mojo. That phone interview at 1130? That was 1130 EASTERN time!!! Come 930, while I am studying the back of my eyelids, THERE SHE IS!!! What I usually do on phone interviews is re-study the job posting, take another look at the resume and cover letter I sent, and just get my brain in gear with how to approach it. This one was in my pajamas and looking for my glasses. YIKES!!! NOT my best interview, but she is still referring my resume to the hiring manager. I applied for C++ Developer, but she is also putting me in for a database position (same manager), so maybe it wasn't as bad as I thought. I should have gotten up and done something useful, but I was cross and mopey and went back to bed. Only to be woken up at 1130 with a different phone call.

This one got my blood pumping and my mojo running. An unofficial offer from the state. Salary is not as much as I was hoping, but more than enough to get by without having to live like a grad student. I would be starting Oct 27, conveniently AFTER the Halloween party. I have decided to treat myself to lunch.

I finished taking the measurements for my costume. DD12 had helped me yesterday, but one of her measurements looked funny. Arm length of 32", seemed a little high. I remeasured and found it should be 23", dyslexia rearing its ugly head.

It may not be an apron day here. I am thinking more of gloves for Elizabeth's Own Yard Maintenance. I am going to email transcripts off to the job, then get my lunch. I will also buy a purse since the zipper on mine has been broken for months and I have been too much of a cheapskate to get another. Now I must.
