Changed out of church clothes, put on my fitbit (forgot to transfer from my nightgown to bra this morning) and phoned TeleHealth Ontario about the tick bite. Also read Harriet's link which is a bit comforting. The nurse at TeleHealth says to go to the doctor or a clinic in the morning. The link says antibiotics are effective if taken within 72 hours of removal and I'll be at the 48 hour mark in the morning so there is no reason to rush there today. My only other symptom is queasiness and that's more if I think about the bite.

I need to figure out a supper. I'm not hungry (queasiness + large lunch.)

Oh, ((Kathryn)). I just read about the tick bite. Dh once had a bite that looked suspicious about a week after he got it. The Dr. wasn't sure if it was dangerous or not but prescribed antibiotics just in case. Maybe going to a clinic is worth it to put your mind at ease?

DH and I had a good day - we called ds this morning and drove down to take him out for lunch. Beautiful day and we went to a favorite "Jewish style" deli and ate very well. He got groceries at the P unlix next door so that saved him a bus trip later in the week. We also all talked to dd via phone while with him, so almost like having my family all together.

I'm getting a lot of practice going out with the black eye. We ate out last night w dfriends then watched part of football game w then. The DH went to ND while dh went to fl state.

Tomorrow is supposed to be closing for dsis' house; not sure whether ut will happen but we are showing up.

Helia - I think everyone has the blood rule equally applied these days/last 2 decades, and your DH would have been pulled out of the race for a patchup before being allowed to continue - if they had seen him earlier.. His time is impressive.

My Sunday had many social interactions - even with strangers as I walked ddog saying hello - so that was nice. Real conversations with 2 at church, 1 at grocery store, and talked an age to old friend who was driving and I met at a corner as I walked ddog.

Just finally got my computer hooked up after some difficulty getting it to recognize dd's Wi-Fi. Just checking in and letting you know I've made it to FL (last night) safe 'n sound, but I'm oh so tired! Will try to cuop and make some rational replies tomorrow. Been busy today with 1 LOL, housework, holiday crochet. Tomorrow a book arrives in the a.m., so will want to read it ASAP, too. It is called "Crochet Saved my Life: The Mental & Physical Health Benefits of Crochet," by Kathryn Vercillo with Julie Michelle as the photographer. 12 women are featured with PSTD, depression, chronic pain, etc...

Lynlee, My Dsis was having difficulty sleeping b/c of stress over getting her home ready to be appraised, etc... The house is in Oregon and they now live in Utah. DSis tried Melatonin, for sleep, said it worked well, for her, and I wondered if you've ever considered trying it for sleep, too. I read on the later part of yesterday's PWYC, how you mentioned your sleep. I've never taken it, but I've heard other people report how it's helped them.

We just finished watching "America's Funniest Home Videos." Sure was good tonight.

Now, I'm off to s2s and write my tomorrow's "hit" list. I've set the dawn simulator already and got my clothes out this afternoon, for tomorrow morning. I plan on reading tomorrow, on that new book when it arrives between 9 a.m. - noon, UPS emailed me about. DH goes to Costco and 2 grocery stores tomorrow.

Perhaps I'll finish crocheting the 2nd holiday potholder tomorrow, too. It's sure pretty. It's for a Dneighbor-friend's kitchen. I used solid red, variegated red-white and white. Her kitchen accent colors are red and white. I'm planning on doing only the 1 pair, as DH gets her DH's (my DH's buddy), a box of Aplet & Cotlets candies, from Eastern WA State. They're fruited candies with nuts in them. They're rectangle-shaped with powdered sugar coating. We also give them to 3 other elderly Dfriends, too. And sometimes the mail carrier, too. This past holiday season, in 2013, we gave the mail carrier and gold tin of gourmet hot chocolate. He really liked it.

Our church today was all about love. Several people write parts of the service and the Pastor writes his own, of course. Another chooses the songs. Without talking to one another the theme was Love. And the big surprise is that yesterday two in our congregation were the first same-sex couple to be married in our county as the ban was lifted here in AZ.

It made for a very emotional but happy day.

After that it was football. Poor Dakota was crossing her legs waiting for the end of the game, but just as DH was going to take her for a walk the skies opened up and we received a downpour. It was only .2 but in the desert that is a lot. It made the ditches run. After the rain stopped, I also went on the walk. It was fun to stand on the culvert and watch the water make it down the ditch from the culvert about 1/4 mile away. It came down surprisingly fast. I can see how a real downpour in the mountains can end up being a flash flood in the valley.

It is now after 9 pm so I'd better hike to bed. DH has an ear Dr. appointment in the city tomorrow so we have to get going early.

Hi everyone! I am winding down from a chaotic weekend. Saturday afternoon, DD12 and I went to a 5 yo birthday party. It really should have been called a 'track down, chase down, turn the birthday boy around' party. It was at a park and he kept leaving the party area toward the slides. Except for the time he went the other direction and I chased him down. His mom wanted him to sit and open presents. I advised her to do that at home and let him slide. He is autistic and was coming close to fit-pitching stage. Fortunately, after two presents, she agreed. This made DD happy as she wanted to swing. All other party kids thought the playground was a fine idea.

Saturday evening, DD and I went to a going away party. The X and the other woman were there, bleah. Snark alert! I couldn't help noticing that she ended up sitting on a sofa by herself for a rather long time, while I never lacked for company. Of course, I was polite. When we got home, I started reorganizing the sewing room. I was having trouble getting to the new foster, and wanted to at least clear a path. We still haven't found his brother (sister?).

Sunday was church, animal org emergency meeting (where I got homework), then DD's youth group and my Bible study. When I took DD back to the X's, we discussed her college fund. I won't bore you with the details, but the X is a jack, not like Kathryn's uncles, but more like the jacka$$. When I got home, I finished the animal org homework (type minutes, notes, and a letter), caught up on my emails, sorted my church website emails into 'to do' and 'done', and unsubscribed from a bunch of job alert emails.

Next up: snack and reading, cat care, bed. Tomorrow, I have a doctor's appointment at 930, so staying up until all hours is not an option. However, I do need to spend some time with the new foster, who is in isolation until he can be tested for diseases and shows himself clear of respiratory infection. He doesn't like to be held, but does like laps. He is friendly, affectionate, and the skinniest thing I have seen since a friend's cat developed malabsorption issues. However, this one is able (and quite willing) to eat. His provisional name is Briggs, and I would like to call his brother Stratton. Briggs and Stratton make lawn mower engines, and Briggs purrs a lot. Probably because someone is feeding him.
