Weather is turning foul here but I'll still take the bus. I need to be tough!

Dh is out on the balcony figuring a way to bungee down the chairs so they won't rattle in the wind which is getting quite gusty.

I've made my lunch, started dinner in the crock pot, run the dishwasher and washed my bathing suit.

Next up, plan my bus route and then get ready to go. I'll be leaving insanely early because I can't believe it will only take 30 minutes and hate to be late. Plus it is a big church (the closest thing we have to a cathedral) and it will take me time to figure out where I'm going once inside.

BTW: washing-up means hand washing the dishes in England. You'd say, "I'm doing the washing-up" instead of "I'm doing the dishes." Dh and I refer to washing-up liquid and dishwashing liquid. The first is used in the sink, the second in the dishwasher.

No toddler here today so made other plans in a bit. Meat pies for dinner. Posting from ex. Bike now. Casted on sts for a hat for dgs while on here too, half done with my miles. Cornbread is done. Multitasking whiz!

Election results coming in our ballots take longer to count bc of mail in. Light rain. Need to check and see if I made the bed yet.

Dee, I am so glad that you mentioned cleaning the fridge again. When you mentioned it yesterday, it reminded me that I need to clean out the freezer side of our side by side. I had intended to do it first thing this morning so that I would have the throwaways in the dumpster by the time they come. So I ran out and checked the dumpster after reading your post and it was still waiting. So I brought 2 laundry baskets upstairs and grabbed a garbage bag and went to pulling everything out, sorting as it came out. Everything that needs to be thrown out, is in the dumpster. That freezer was packed full. I needed to make room to put a plastic bag with ice in it with easy access. We have an ice maker with on the door ice delivery. If it gets too full, then it jams up and is a pain. I am so sick of dh gripping about it, every time he gets ice that I came up with this solution. I have a plastic scoop for him to use. This method will have to do for now. Somewhere we have the plastic ice container for our other fridge that I can use, when I find it. I have seen it around but it is hiding now.

We also have a chest freezer in the basement. I would like to sort thru it before dh retires. There is getting to be ice buildup on the sides. When dd2 took what she wanted after she moved from here, I used ice chests to hold what little she had left. I defrosted it then. Now almost 3 years later, it needs it again. I know there is stuff that needs to go from there.

I better eat lunch and get busy..............

It's been almost an hour since I last posted and all I've done is to email dd and get together info from bank. Finally got it from prez instead of going through temple office mgr. Since prez is at temple now he can sign cks this week and I don't have to go by there.

I might blow off running errands and play this afternoon. The only one pressing is to get to the post office, but that could wait another day also.

Hi Gals! I woke up still tired. I can always feel when I work way late in the evening, even if it's just paperwork. Clouds above, hoping any rain holds off till DH is done with his outside work.

Went to post office and mailed 3 fat statements. Went to Up S to mail out old broken shock absorber. They have lifetime guarantees and the co. finally sent us a label to mail it back.

Couple phone calls made. Need to see if I can order a part online and look at another product and there's a new project needing organized. I have all my washing-up done and dinner thawing out.

Oh, I bought a nice turkey to make. I'll split it with us and my friend Sandi. I doubt whether her husband and son will have any turkey this Nov. unless someone brings it.

Hi, all, I still haven't s2s-ed or made the bed, etc. I poked around and joined a couple of Fitbit groups and uploaded a generic photo (the sunset I have on Facebook) and joined a couple of discussions within the groups.

Also posted a reminder on the temple Facebook about tonight's event with a link to a local newspaper article about the subjects of the event to stimulate some interest. The other gal who managed the Facebook page mainly posts notices straight from the temple emails. I've long felt that we don't do a very good job with communications - wasn't able to do much while president but this is one small way to build other communications avenues. I posted a link yesterday that has reached over 300 and was reposted by a local education foundation - considering we only have 200 or so "likes" for our page, at least we are cultivating a community presence.

I'll consider this to be a shortened errand day. We don't need much from store especially since dh is out of town a lot of the next week.

Thanks for all the tips... * whew * I need to make a list of all these and work through them one by one. Just now am heading to the shower to try to baby body wash & shampoo. It's all the same -- use it on body and hair. The vinegar... do you just run it through your hair in the final rinse? Neither dh nor I can stand the smell of vinegar. It had better go away quickly. I am interested in the lemon-tasting thing Twins mentioned, too.
Boy... what IS it with all this excema??? Seems like it is a very common complaint. I never realized that before.

Dmom is now trying to get in touch w/my daunt (the one who is widowed and whose daughter passed away this summer.) She says she's going to see if daunt will do Thanksgiving and then dmom will do Christmas. * sheesh * (DH said that was a bad idea, dmom will be no better prepared for Christmas than she is Thanksgiving, that she should just do it and get it over with. DS says it's a bad idea b/c they will be coming in on us before we finish our breakfast. * more sheesh * I'm just saying... whatever.)

After s2s, dh and I are going to CVS and our regular drug store to get my rx's, and MAYBE I will start getting some relief.

Wading through projects here. 1 thing ordered...computer ordering wouldn't work so I called it in...

Working on our clock, have batteries out...read the booklet... it's one of those indoor/outdoor temp., time things that automatically updates...and I really notice how much I look at it to keep my day going since it's been off the wall. DH was changing battery in outside sensor and dropped the sensor. I am trying the new batteries once more, taking out to reset, etc. and if I can't get it going I will try to order a new sensor. I am lost without it.

Got a new mileage log all set up, new mileages all written in the back...wouldn't have to do this is the odometer worked... but old log will be completely full by end of the year.

Out to work on the clock again..

Washed up a couple of pans today.
Back from errands got yarn I have been drooling over on sale. Replacement bug bulb has been installed. Got my yarn swift. Saw so e friends for lunch that joined me a fun time talking over issues projects and more.

S2S... I think I like the baby shampoo pretty well. It has a little bit different smell, not unpleasant though... just kinda odd. Not like J&J baby shampoo, I don't think.

Waiting on dh to get dressed, etc.

Discussing dmom's holiday plans... what dbil will have in mind for that side of the family -- we have always done Christmas Eve at dmil's, and dh would like to continue to do that. We always -- at least since dfil got sick -- ordered bar-b-que, so at least the meal is not much trouble. Just pick it up and set it out. We would have to bring paper plates and cups, etc, b/c we packed up all her dishes... AND... we have one problem -- the kitchen table is now at dbil's house. However, there is a round table that would seat 5 if necessary, and a dining room table that probably seats at least 6-8. There's only 8 of us, and that counts dgs... and there is a kitchen bar that would seat 3 or 4. So it's not really a problem, just needs someone (us, I imagine) to go over there and rearrange things a bit.
Also, I'm sure none of us want to go to the trouble of setting up a Christmas tree there, but I don't think that really matters. The tree has always sat in the entry foyer, and we never spent any time in there anyway.
DH said if dbil doesn't want to do it there, he can have it at his house; "We're not having it here," dh said. I think hosting both sides of the family last year was just about enough for him, LOL.

And dmom... the more I think about it the crazier I think she is... and I know whatever she does is going to involve me to some extent... but (and I can hardly believe I heard myself saying this) I just told dh, "Well, whatever. It'll all work out, things usually do." * sigh *

Dmil had one of those time/temperature clocks, Harmony. The battery is dead on it though, and I guess dbil will take it -- they gave it to dmil.

Ddil is afraid dbil wants to use Christmas Eve to divide property, and she fears we/the brothers will fuss. It's not the best time, I guess, to try to do all that, but OTOH, if dbil is insistent that dniece and dnephew are there when we do this, it's about the only time we will have. I'm sure neither of them will be home more than a week at Christmas, and part of that time they will have to spend with their mother and her side of the family. Plus dnephew has two "Little Brothers" in college town, and he'll want to see them, too, I imagine. He usually does. And ds/ddil/dgs will be leaving right after Christmas to go to her family celebration.
