The chance that someone could figure out that a certain person they know is posting here is remote. Even my children have had a little trouble figuring out "where" I was here. I don't think there's much worry. According to the US Census, there are more than 87,000 people who spell their name like my handle in US, even though mine is not common. Then you get into the different spellings. More common handles/names would mean even more people have the same one. So, I feel pretty good about being anonymous.

I also got one of those bad calls from bank and, of all people, it was about my ddad. They cleared it up right away but that made us so mad. It was not even a "real" card but the card number that was associated with his acct!! Good grief! The lady said that most are computer generated guesses. They just guess and guess at numbers until something works.

Across the Cafe Table is for everyone and has a lot of introductions in it when someone joins or comes back. That's where Reading is.

d Nancy I am so sorry you feel you have to do that ... I don't think this site hurts your credit cards... I know by us Barnes and NObles had their card swipers stolen and caused so many problems. My bank got hit and then they cancelled all their card holders cards and gave us new ones. I do think that religious or any book discussions couldn't be part of a book discussion. such as posting under the book title so that others reading the same book can partake in it without offending anyone who doesn't want to be part of that discussion.. actually sounds like fun. is there a book discussion board here? don't remember. but it could be like how I do my bwp budget. separate from the other things but in the same realm of keeping balanced and organized thus raising awareness (if anyone doesn't want to see it they don't have to - it just keeps me honest and extremely aware of my habits.

dharmony you made me giggle at too much girl hair!

today I heard from the landscaper who told me the work would be in one realm and then said I owed an additional $3,000 more that was not listed . I need to pull out my estimate and make sure they get that.

I agree with d Harriet... when it has happened to us it has been through target and bank attacks. I feel very good that I am anonymous here but also feel very known as a person here without letting go of personal information that could affect my bank account (what little is there right now lol) .

((()))
I am needing an attack plan on my linen closet which is almost empty of items - I have a plan of what I want for the space but now I need to really think of how I need to execute it. So paper in hand ... so I don't spin my wheels (my tendency)

I google my handles (I have multiple ones) every once in a while to see how likely someone is to link me in real life. It was much quicker on the older boards than now.

Dh is still amazed that I thought to respond to my handle in the grocery store the other day. He's not used to me being called anything but my real name but the fitbit group and my facebook name are different from my real name.

I'm making some progress on the clothes but not a lot. Sorting by what fits and tossing more that doesn't fit. I never toss jeans that are in good shape and too small since when I do fit them again it is nice to have them as a stop-gap measure until I buy new smaller jeans. Found a pair that barely fit but will do as my current jeans are fast wearing out. I found more blankets too so will give those to ds who is freezing at his apartment. He has to pay for heat (electric) so hasn't turned it on yet. He asked if I had any hot water bottles for his bed. I told him to borrow a bean bag but those require electricity to heat up. Hot water is free for him so he wanted a hot water bottle. I'll buy him one because I'm pleased he thought that through. I'm also giving him our feather bed as we are unlikely to need it. Plus a flannel sheet.

I'm exhausted for some reason and ready for a nap. I've just had some popcorn for lunch so should eat something a bit more filling.

ROFLOL!!! * and *
If you google lucylee, you get a porn star. Y'all, I PROMISE I am not a porn star!!! Oh my... now y'all will think that was the sin I was speaking of... ROFLOL....
Oh my...
But it certainly makes me feel more "incognito" here in our little village.

And (((Nancy))) if you are talking about sensitive subjects re: religion, etc, I think (AM I RIGHT, Moderators?) I think we are free to start a thread on any topic in the members only section. Then people can look at it not. Also, as far as I know, only J&C and the other section marked Members Only ARE "members only" -- right? Check Board Index. It will say if it is MO.

(BTW -- my biggest guilt trip is over the grief I caused my dmom when I was 15, 16, and determined that yes I was going to see dh, etc etc etc. For those who don't know, he is 10 years older than me, and yes, in hindsight, if I had a 15, 16 year old daughter in the same situation, I'd probably have a heart attack and then -- when I recovered -- I would lock her in her room till she was 21. But, after 35 years and the amazing way ds has turned out, we figure the Lord was looking out for fools and children at the time. I tell people I was the child; they can figure out the rest. ;) )

I have walked w/ds this morning and brrrr... it is COLD. But nothing like as cold as some of y'all are facing. I know I say that a LOT. But it's true, and it makes me appreciate our relatively mild winters so much more!

I also have written the monthly check for tv (directv) and made two phone calls, one re: an order for meds dh has not received yet, and one re: direct deposit of dh's ss check. I always like to call and make SURE it's there, you know.
STILL have not heard from dmom...

We don't use flannel sheets, b/c dh can't stand them, and I'm sure if I tried them I would feel the same as he does. Woke up completely in a sweat this morning. (Had HORRIBLE dreams, too, btw, sorta like a state government takeover/Hunger Games sorta scenario... shaking my head -- b/c my candidate WON the governor's election, so why would I dream he was the bad guy? Shaking my head...)

Considering ordering flannel lined jeans from L L B ean... * Has anyone tried these? They're kinda expensive, and I'd probably only wear them for occasional ballgames, just a few times a year at most, but they look so nice.

I need a trim, too... skipped last week when dh went, which was probably six weeks since last trim, but my flakiness (physical, I mean, with this skin condition) was so bad I didn't even want dbeautician to have to deal with it. But y'all, it is SOOO much better!!! Just after a week, it has cleared up sooo much!!! So I called her yesterday, left a message, but she hasn't called me back.

Dee, I have heard that it is very common to develop new allergies later in life. I'm thinking that I had a reaction to shampoo, actually, and I had used the same brand forever.

Oh -- Dee -- how will this work if dd gets her new job and dsil gets HIS new job in T ampa?

Speaking of geneology... we are going out to a cemetery this afternoon. DS is all fired up since he got some new software for his birthday and he wants to go photograph tombstones of dh's great-great-I don't know how many greats. We're all going; ddil loves cemeteries too.

I would love to have a view of water. I have a beautiful view of a very pretty field and trees/forest/mountains in the distance... but I must have inherited some sort of love of the water from my parents and dfather's parents. I would love a river or ocean view.

Must end this stream of consciousness rambling and s2s! Hope you're all having a great day!

Well, LucyLee, it looks like dsonil's job in Tampa is pretty much a 'done deal'. He still will have to stop by the Plant City plant to check on things. But he'll have more hours and higher pay. If DD gets the job she covets, she'll be working on the west side of Lakeland and they'll probably look for housing somewhere halfway between so neither has an extra long commute. Though I sure wouldn't want dsonil's -the new plant is out by the Tampa airport. Not a ride Sunny, Harmony or I would enjoy! Am I right, girls?

At least they shouldn't have to worry about buying a house with gd16 in mind. They do insist on looking for a place with us in mind, however. Not sure how we feel about all that. Except we're not sure what we would do at this point in our lives different from what we're doing. Sometimes I wonder if we painted ourselves into a corner. ;)

Went to the bank, the post office and to W mart. I had planned on a couple of other stops but I was spent. Just finished putting things away. No one else is home yet. Not sure what time anyone will be coming.

Dh has a Trustee meeting tomorrow at church so I'll probably run up with him and maybe get Friday's bulletin started.

Bought some Lysine for fever blisters, though small -they still hurt. I've never had them before. I'm getting too old for this. The ointment seems to be doing a good job as of right now. Praying to be wholly well this week, long before our cruise. I sometimes have visions of dd and dh going without me. I'm not sick but know I'm not really all well either.

Think I'll go read for a while. We're just having left overs for dinner so don't have to cook. We have chili, goulash or beef stroganoff. Or a combination of all 3. :D Guess it's a "mustgo" night.

Lucylee: one of my handles belongs to an exotic dancer so I'm happy using that one for anonymity!

BTW: if you want to see what non members see, just check out the board index when you are NOT signed in. That's what people see who discover us by accident.

I'm still digging out the bedroom. Have given up on trying on clothes. In total, a green garbage bag of things will go out of the room, plus the feather bed and blankets.

I napped for a bit and got distracted by the second and third movies so haven't worked as fast as I could. I recommend Austenland and Prada to Nada as light movies but not void of any content.

Back from our (very chilly!) visit to three cemeteries. After the first one, ddil and dgs stayed in the SUV while dh, ds, and I searched for particular graves. After the second one, I gave ds the camera and told him to take pictures of anything he wanted to.

Home now and we're about to eat supper. The cold temps have my teeth feeling more sensitive, too.

Kathryn, I enjoyed Austenland, too! DH definitely felt he'd done his duty in the "chick flick" category after that one, though. ;)

Post and run....I may post more in members only but there are a lot of Twins' Mom references out there on the internet.

Sucessful errand run - I think there were nine stops in all. I haven't put away groceries yet but I also need to get supper started. This biz with dh coming home earlier leaves me cooking more - he just called to say he's leaving the office. I hope he won't be disappointed with tomato/wild rice soup with a grilled cheese. He looks in the refrigerator and grouses that we have "nothing to eat." OTOH, he never puts anything on the grocery list and I try to stick to healthy stuff. :D

8800 steps so far and I will need to walk ddogs later so I'll get to 10K steps. I'm comfortably third from the bottom on my step challenge so I'm satisfied with myself. I wouldn't want to try to increase steps too fast too soon anyway.
