hi d nancy!
frontroom is clean - wall paper rinsed, floor vacuumed and washed by hand, piano dusted and keys cleaned, dusted everything, cleaned under furniture, needles vacuumed. (I still have some ornaments to put up but that will be later.
dd younger I think got the bus going back to school - hoping she has a safe flight and a good final on Friday and a good trip back (safe and sound)
now for hallway.

Re: Way-to-Go & Happy Hanukkah Wednesday
It is foggy now and the apartment is shrouded. No view at all. Can't see the road below but know it is still there because I hear the occasional horn!
I finished up the cards to be mailed. I had done some yesterday so they were ready to be posted this morning. Pickup is at 10 at the box outside the building so I did that before I ate my breakfast. The walking is fine so I finished up the last (I hope) of the cards and had dh drop me at the post office (which has pickup at noon and 5 p.m.) when he was on his way to lunch. I then walked home. The walking was still fine but it was a damp walk with a Scotch fog. My coat is hung up to dry and my glasses ended up with an extra cleaning today!
The dishwasher is running so I think I'll keep working on the kitchen. Yesterday was kitchen chore day and I skipped those. Still need to fold towels too in order to finish off that load of laundry.

I have gotten the floors swept and mopped.
Counting chores for some ex.
Laundry is rounded up and going.
Found the mac n cheese recipe most like granny used to use on the inside of the box of Velveta. I can tweak it with white cheese.
Got a couple of things cut out to sew up.

Re: Way-to-Go & Happy Hanukkah Wednesday
Sigh....
Dh just got an email saying he didn't get the government contract after all. Get this, they failed to properly read his rate sheet which he included in the request for proposal. (My guess is that read per hour and thought per day.) He has been really upfront with them all the way through, talking about his rates and telling them to refer to his rate sheet, etc. etc.
I'm annoyed because I spent some of the money on Christmas present for the kids.
(Our European co-contractor on the NZ project just called to ask what the heck is going on? He had been sent notice last week that we got the contract and sent congrats. Today he got a request asking how soon he could start on the project since the contract was not being awarded to us. He wanted us to know that if someone had lodged a formal objection to us getting the project, it wasn't him. Ironically, if he gets the contract, all the money will leave Canada, if we get it, 100% is spent here and of that, 45% will be returned to governments in our taxes.)

I am heading to the airport soon with dd younger. a 5 hour drive there and 5 hour back for me or a 1/2 hour flight for dd younger.. she wants the flight.
it's an hour long bus ride for her then to school from the airport
vacuumed the front hall and stairs - everything is washed and decorated, mirror hung up again, dusted furniture and paintings, wiped finger prints. fixed hanging chandelier type thing

Re: Way-to-Go & Happy Hanukkah Wednesday
Really frustrated about today's happenings. Dd called to say she was sorry (dh emailed the kids.) Daddy thinks I should keep spending money, dd understands. I will still get the Christmas presents I planned for the kids. Thankfully, I hadn't bought anything big for us (the humidifier was both necessary and only $120) but it was close. I still have to buy the airline tickets for our March trip and had I opted for more expensive flights that would have been frustrating because they wouldn't have been refundable.
I've got the kitchen chores done except for washing the floors. I'll do the bathrooms next and then start in on the floors after I start dinner. Dh is singing tonight so we'll have an early dinner.

Re: Way-to-Go & Happy Hanukkah Wednesday
Hello Dear Ladies,
COLD Rain, sometimes can hear bits of ice in it.
Dson of the Carolina branch is doing well. Started a job at Cosco today. The two room mates work there too so boss says she will try to keep their schedules close to being the same. they can carpool together.
Am really trying to eat more healthier and exercise. I gained quite a bit between my shoulder surgery and being laid up before and after. Then went on some anti-depressants to deal with Dson's heart problem and Dson leaving. Handled situations but it put more weight on me. I also draw comfort from foods so of course I turned to it when things were to much to handle. Jumping starting 2015-it will be the year to lose this weight.
Am trying to get the house back in shape too. I do something every day and try to do one more thing. Like I cleaned off the washer and dryer today, I do that and bathrooms on Wednesdays, and I cleaned off one of the shelves back there too. Baby steps.
Work is busy, of course. Tomorrow we have a Christmas Dinner catered in for us.
Just one more week of business and then it goes back to normal.
Waving to all!

Re: Way-to-Go & Happy Hanukkah Wednesday
That is frustrating, ((Kathryn)). It sounds like someone didn't do their homework well.
Glad ds is doing well, Sadie. It is hard to lose weight this time of year.
Is your dd attending my downstate alma mater, blessed?
Well, I survived shopping. I found something for dfriends E and C, finished shopping for dd19's bday, which we're celebrating tomorrow (2 months late), got a couple things for dd16 - one is for her shoe. And I bought 2 cute tops and a pair of leggings at Baby Gap to round out baby J's gifts. Someone needs to buy her a ball since she loves them, but I think one of the kids can do that.
Once home, I found a large box that included a gift for dd16 in it (non-Amazon). Dd16 hadn't gotten home yet, so I quickly stowed it away in the basement. Then, I quickly started the breadmaker with whole wheat bread to go with dinner tonight. It will finish a little late, 6:45 pm, but I think we'll work with it. I've started a lol and had a snack (5 WW points), and now I'm going to have a cup of tea and look at the rest of my afternoon.
I don't know if ds is planning on my picking him up so he can borrow the car or if he is planning on getting here on his own.
