You can stop tapping your foot, Norma. I'm at the doctor's office in the waiting room now.

Lilac, I think the holidays bring out a lot of repressed emotions and issues and memories of past slights and concerns. If it's any comfort, it's the type of thing I also hear from dd with regard to her brother. I don't favor him - but he is easier to get along with generally. I hope it's a great holiday for each family.
I need to also "Move it" today - usually Monday can be a quiet day but there are things I need to get done today. Tomorrow will be busy - we will have Hanukkah dinner here at home.
PODA/OMM for today
-groceries
-bonuses for temple employees (I told office manager I couldn't get to bank etc. until after Hanukkah dinner)
-routines around here - need to catch up on laundry
-buy bagels at Panera
-list of meds and print off last year's blood work in prep for new doc visit tomorrow
-verify time of doc appt and body work appt for tomorrow
-ck on ordered gift for dmom
-find and wrap already purchased hostess gift for Christmas eve, buy baby and child gift for the two kids there?
-what else I haven't thought of?
For now, I need to unstick my tushie from this chair:
-meds/vitamins, and refill container also
-kitchen counters
-empty the dishwasher
-s2s
-walk the ddogs
Glad Lucylee is at the doctor's office this morning.
Oh, I am so cold right now!

Good morning, villagers ~
This morning I have been alternating, in roughly 15 minutes increments, working in the kitchen with reading a blog and watching videos by an English gardener.
Our weather has been very dark and gloomy for a few days in a row. These are the kind of days when I like watching shows that are set in blazing hot sunshine. The reverse is true as well, in the hottest part of summer here is when I like to watch Ice Road Truckers and such.
Blessedw2 ~ If this is a travel day for your relatives, I wouldn't worry about planning a lot of activity. Let them settle in, unpack, and deal with jet lag. They may be dehydrated, too. They might enjoy a walk around your neighborhood?
Emptynester ~ Yes, I organize the dishes in the sink because I always start by soaking them for awhile. If they aren't "organized" they won't fit and it also takes more water to cover them. I try whenever possible to conserve water by washing the dishes in a dishpan instead of filling the whole sink. The only way that works is to reach the balance of nesting things to conserve space while still allowing the soapy water to get to each dish. (Yes, there is a science to washing dishes!

)
Break time is over. It's time to put the ham & potato casserole in the crock pot.

No time to cuop.
This is my only free day between now and the 29th.
Meant to go swimming but got caught up making up a file folder with all a smattering of pictures from 2014. That took almost 2 hours. First step was proof of concept that if they were on a USB stick, they'd play on the living room tv. That was successful so then it was choosing the pictures. It has been a busy year so that took a while!
Then breakfast, then washing up dishes, then remade the bed with fresh sheets and started the laundry.
I'm still not s2s.
Dh got an email from the Senate officially telling us that we were reevaluated and thus lost the contract. But mentioned that they will not be going to any of the other bidders but rewriting the RFP to reword and re-weight the technical requirements and putting it out again in January. So we may still have a shot at this after all. Sigh....
A quick off my mind to-do list for today:
1. Set table for tomorrow
2. Tidy apartrment
3. keep up with laundry - I need clothes for all the 'performances' this week (I'm spending a lot of time in front of crowds.)
4. Help dh come up with a set list for tomorrow
5. Learn Italian (or at least one or two carols in Italian!)
6. Rewrite the meal plans and make up a detailed shopping list. For instance, I'm bringing carrots and a jellied carrot salad to Christmas dinner so I need more carrots and more jello. And potatoes. I need tons and tons of potatoes and a pork tenderloin!
7. Come up with a centrepiece for the table. Maybe buy or scavenge some greens to make into something pretty. Will see what is lying around the ground where Christmas trees are sold.
8. (Added) wrap presents
Poof!

Good Morning!
Waving ~~~ to
Lilac,
Cathy, Blessed, Helia, MT, Nancy, Lucylee, Twins, Bookie, Kathryn & all who stop by later.
Oh, &
HAPPY (belated)
BIRTHDAY to
Ellyphant
! I just remembered that I was cuop that night & my computer kept booting me off & I never did get to add my well wishes to you. I was so happy to see you had stopped by & posted.
I'm procrastinating on getting started on my PODA list, which is not good because the list is long! There are some catch up items from yesterday, but the main focus for today is cleaning & washing sheets & towels. I got a jump on clothes laundry yesterday & all is done except for a basket of socks & undies that needs to be put away. I finished wrapping gifts for dbro & family last night. Stayed up until almost midnight but I was on a roll & didn't want to stop. Plus I got a late start. It is nice not to have that on my To Do list for today.
Mmmm, this hot cocoa tastes so good. I've brought my laptop out to the dining room table so I can watch the birds, plus the natural light is better here than in the office this time of day. For the past week I've had to completely fill the birdbath every morning when I refill the seed. I think this means that the deer that wander through here have discovered it, because there are no cracks or leaks in it.
OK, time to get moving. First up, get caught up on leftover To Dos. Put away last load of clothes laundry, empty dishwasher, clean up breakfast & cocoa dishes. Then throw the towels into the washer (should have done that first), vacuum, strip the bed, clean the bathrooms & thaw salmon for dinner. I took care of some Desk Day chores earlier so at least faxing, filing & emails are done for the day.
Hope you all have a wonderful Move It Monday!

Still in the waiting room. Appt was at 9:45. It's 11:04 now.
See what I mean???
But when I get back there to see him, it will be like I am the only person in his whole world -- and he is the kindest, most patient, caring doctor you could ever hope for. So that's why we stick with him.

Wow! Another 6 loads of laundry. Most of it was already clean, but terribly wrinkled and some of the stuff on top had a layer of cat fur. The Laundromat was packed by the time I left. Looked like some people hadn't done laundry in a long time. Someone came in with 8 duffle bags and 4 baskets.
Now I just need to get this stuff away. It's mostly towels.

I like to MOVE IT MOVE IT!!!
Except I am having trouble moving, because my car is in the shop AGAIN. One of my coworkers suggested a new car, but they don't make them anymore (taurus wagon). Tonight, I will have to retrieve and pay for my car and return the rental. I made sure to put my GPS and satellite radio in it, because I have a long drive when I don't take the train.
Last night, I finished all the webwork that was needed before Christmas. Tonight, I am going to work on the more complicated pending stuff. At payroll, I have some reports due tomorrow and a calculation to program.
Stuff that needs to be done tonight, other than webwork: check cat supplies for the pet sitter, meet with pet sitter, LOLs to put away and plan packing, get supplies to do Christmas cards on the train tomorrow, set up crochet for travel.
Other pending stuff: sew snap on doll dress (must be done by 12/25), return library book.
Lilac: It is also possible that DD1 is annoyed with DD2 for getting a puppy after dumping her own dog on DD1! I am thoroughly disgusted with DD2, as well. She should take her own dog back instead. What will happen if DD2 moves again? Dump another dog on DD1?

Elizabeth, Dd2 offered to take back Ruby but dd1's family were too attached to her and didn't want to let her go.
I went to run errands. Then I was to call dd1 to meet me at dd2's. She had taken 2 carrot cakes to her inlaws yesterday. One was not touched so dd2 told me to have dd1 come over and get some. Wellllllllllllll I had dialed dd1 and as I was walking downstairs, I hit send. I missed at least the 2 bottom steps and fell, sliding at least 6 ft. and the phone flew out my hand.
My guardian angel was watching out for me, because I fell on my side and my head didn't hit the floor. Which is wood laminate over cement! When I crawled to the phone, dd1 was frantic, she had heard everything, including some choice words that also flew out of my mouth. My body feels like someone has shook my body like a ragdoll. I have taken A leve but it is slow in aleve-ing the pain. Nothing seems to be broke. I am always so careful and then I do this. Dd2 had borrowed queen size sheets and a queen blanket to use on their queen size air mattress, when they had company Saturday night. I had went downstairs to see if the sheets were down there. They were in a garbage bag (clean) that I sent them home in.
I need to clean but I decided to rest for awhile. Actually I want to wrap dd2's gifts. That way she can get them out of my way, sometime tomorrow.
Better get to wrapping.
Hope to hear what lucylee has soon.
