Hello everyone.
MT, that is tough watching others decline. It's good you were there to help your dsister.
Today is desk clean-up day. I've gone through my 2 inboxes which are catchalls for waiting projects or stuff I haven't figured out what to do with. I have one biggish project for the end of the year still to do and I'm working on that next. That will get rid of a large pile of stuff. I've decided on a way to change our office form to make it easier to keep track of this stuff in the future. I always make notes on the form, but last time I looked at it was Nov. 11 and now I don't understand my notes so have to start over. I'm going to change the form and I won't have to look at notes again.
DH did a couple hours work this morning. He's still feeling poorly.
Brought in a red ripe tomato from the garden. They are doing unusually well this year.

Re: FIRST FRIDAY
About forgotten things - Whatever the meds are, Emptynester, might be the explanation as to why she doesn't appear as confused until she's without them. I'm glad she is home and back to usual routines.
Forgotten here by 30-somethings, btw - dd34's family's "bumbleseat" for baby, small treat bag (full) for the boy on trip home, grocery items bought for dsonil. I doubt it is possible to go on a trip without forgetting some items.
Poor Dakata, getting used to a bunch of folks and then wondering where they went. Btw, how is Dakota's skin now?
I'm enjoying gathering together ideas for recordkeeping and checkoff charts, etc. Printables for hard copy systems like mine are also convertible for tech/computer. The internet has blossomed with ideas (most free) for creating pages that help organize, and January's the time to see what's doin'.
So I've added a new "Adapting Forms to Our Systems" thread to our Household Notebook/Planner, and PocketMod forum within the Organizational Tools and Skills section of our board index. I'll link there to some ideas I've found to chat about. If you've found something bright out there in the way of a form that's helping you, let us know.

Re: FIRST FRIDAY
Hello Dear Ladies,
Raining here and the temps rise and fall around the freezing mark so it freezes sometimes.
Have a cold!
Think it was irritated also by handling a returned shirt that was worn by a smoker. It usually sets something off inside me. Wish they would quit taking returns from smokers. Apology to those who smoke but clothing that has been worn by a smoker or left in their car or house come back reeking and we can't sell them so we have to throw them away. Maybe we could set up a shop just for used smoker clothes.
I should sweep the floor but I'm just taking it easy today. Trying to rest as much as I can as it is work day for me. Can't miss time or my insurance will be gone. Have to work a minimum of 30 hours so makes it hard to take a day off.
Great day to all!

Re: FIRST FRIDAY
Good afternoon everyone!
My friend and I did go to the two-museum event and had a good time. New Year's Day, we did lunch, movie, dinner, then she returned home. At dinner, I was queried on whether I would date the person she has been trying to fix me up with. Nope. Not happening. To me, dating is something you do when you are looking for a partner. It is a filtering mechanism to separate keepers from not-a-matchers. I am not interested in marrying again and I will not live with anyone. Also not interested in casual flings, friends with benefits, or similar arrangements. Finally, though I did not tell her this, I am seeing a giant red flag waving in the wind. This guy can get comped hotel rooms in Vegas because he is a member of casino clubs. On New Years Eve. How much gambling does one have to do to get a comped hotel room in Vegas on New Years Eve? More than I am comfortable with, that's for sure. What am I looking for? Friends. Nice and simple.
At payroll, I can finally get the reports dealt with. The data cube finally deployed properly. I need to call a friend for dinner before she returns to FL. I would like to see her tonight, but since a meeting has been called that will last until 5 pm (maybe), I may end up with a later train home. Guess I could try meeting her after that train, but it will be kind of late.
Things I should get around to tonight:
library book return
groceries
email check
bring cat crates inside (unless email check reveals cancellation of adoption clinic)
Christmas card check (did I get everyone?)
thank you notes
find crochet pattern
Styx tickets
I found out that HMS Pinafore and Midsummer Night's Dream are coming, must plan that for DD12 and I.
I hope that LadyMaverick has heat now.

Re: FIRST FRIDAY
Really, really, sleepy but still making progress here.
Did the kitchen weekly chores and removed the kitchen Christmas decorations. (All of a sudden I'm 'over' Christmas and ready to pull down almost all the decorations but I'm not well enough to do it today.)
I also did two loads of laundry and the mending.
Watched 2 or 3 episodes of my tv show, one while under a blanket with a heated bean bag.
We needed milk so I walked to the store with dh. Put on extra clothes and used my Buff over my mouth and nose so was breathing warm, moist air, not cold, dry air. That helped a lot. I was prepared to turn back if I couldn't do the walk but it wasn't an issue. Really, it takes about 12 minutes to get to the store now that my speed is returning. Chatted with a member of the fitbit walking group on the way back (she was just walking home from work.) I like the fact that we are starting to meet people here.
Dh is having store-prepared ribs and I'll have a lasagna for dinner tonight. Much easier than having to cook a dinner when I don't really feel like eating.
I'm going to watch another episode of the show and then start my dinner.

Re: FIRST FRIDAY
I'd just signed in here, earlier today, but had an alert pop up, how my anti-virus wasn't "there" anymore, it had expired, but I'd just put it on my laptop, so had to take care of that, ran a scan, and no problems. Everything's normal once again.
I have "The New Year Crud."
So far, done:
- Did breakfast, etc...
- Made our bed,
- Put dirty LOL in the utility room laundry basket,
- Did 1 LOL, dried it and put it away,
- Put away my clothes I'd gotten out for a DMV + Walmart trip. (Got postponed b/c of being so sick.)
- Put away some calendar crochet pages, I found in a drawer, filed them in their proper places in the main office,
- Got out a. m. clothes, for tomorrow, since I'm so sick, at least I'll be dressed!
- Found the Mentholatum, put some on, took off my cross, as I didn't want it laying in Mentholatum,
- Decorated for Valentine's Day, ♥ ♥
- Read my meditaion,
- Ran scans,
- Did 1 email,
- Got a free e-book,
- Cleaned my desktop again,
- Gave a co-worker story info, for him to log in the database,
- Sorted the mail, purged junk, read mine, put what I need to reply to, in my office.
To Do Yet:
- Wash my Peak Flow Meter,
- Write in my journal,
- Read on my 1 book, which was a gift from DD,
- Do a journal exercise,
- Drink some cranberry juice and some more Gypsy Cold Care Tea,
- Delete e-books I've read or have no intention of reading or re-reading,
- Wipe my plastic QVAR canister holder's mouthpiece,
- Write 3 letters- if I'm up to it,
- Finish reading my new "Crochet World," magazine.
It's light showers here, it's grey outdoors, and DH just came in from the store with Children's Elixir, for colds. I need to run and take some, which helps.
Have a GR8 day, Everybody! Happy First Friday to you ALL!

Re: FIRST FRIDAY
Well my first Friday went out the window
my girls are arguing with each other calling me from florida - ---- mmmm ...to much togetherness and too many people.
Dear visitors are not paying for anything (paid for one small parking) - I should have had a talk before everyone left about money and expectations and realities. No planning on visitors side of cash needed even thought we gave them a heads up. A bit frustrating for my d mom but she is still handling it well.
dh did all my dishes - what a sweet man.
