d Harmony I am glad you are feeling a little better but praying that you and your dh get back to square one in feeling better fast. I am amazed at your desk area... that is exactly what I want - to be organized in this area where i don't feel like a failure when I can't find the necessary files etc.
I still struggle on the filing system items on what I need and don't need. my desk is still in limbo as I declutter and make things accessible. My problem also was what to do with additional materials but I think I am getting a hold of that. Putting like things together at first was hard but I am getting through the piles of things.

d b is sweet good for you for taking a day when you know it is needed. That will help your spirit recuperate!

I used to keep all receipts for the whole year especially with my credit cards but I don't anymore (except important ones such as cameras, house repairs, new equipment, insurance until warranty is done or next months payment is paid) because everything is online and as I look online and the purchase/whatever is there the receipt leaves (esp. debit). Dh no longer keeps checks because it is online. He keeps a year of statements in a binder and then when January of the next year comes he shreds the previous year. (he has been doing this for years - that's why he is organized when it comes to paying bills lol. ) All of his used check books are shredded when the entire check book clears - ahhh to be organized )

I had kept all of my used check books and when I looked back at them I couldn't read what the check was for.

house is surface messy... papers are in dining room but many shredded. Dh and I are still working to get this set. My desk...

what has been fun.. dd younger has been bored (today school would have started) - she figured out a system on multiplying any large or small number by 9 - very clever.. I will have to share it with you. Simple but brilliant in my mind. we have had lots of fun with this.. yes I am a nerd. and am having fun with her on this. dd older finds this hysterical. so we have had lots of laughs this morning already.. gosh it's been fun having them both home even though I know it's temporary I am loving every minute.

Good morning everyone! I stayed up too late last night finishing a novel. Then, the two newest foster cats got very upset and started yowling. Turns out they wanted attention from me. They don't like the fact that I sleep in my bedroom rather in the sewing room with them. The door to the sewing room is never closed, they can choose anywhere they want. They briefly visited the MBR, but decided not to take on the three other cats glaring at them from the bed.

DD12 will not be able to make the summer mission trip, though not because the X objected. They are going on a cruise that leaves the day after DD would return. While that does not appear to be an overlap, because we live in the desert, there is some travel time to get to the cruise departure point! Yesterday, after church, I could not find my keys. A long time ago, we put a lock box on my car with a spare, but I could not find it. I realized that when they replaced my bumper years ago, they did not give it to me. Fortunately, a side door to the church was not locked yet, and the Sunday school room had not been locked, so I was able to get home. Gotta get a new key and lockbox tonight.

There is more kitchen work waiting for me at home, but I should be able to get it done (assuming I don't get sidetracked by another novel or computer Scrabble). The current FlyLady zone is bathroom + one extra room. The guest bath is ok, I cleaned it really well recently for a house guest. So, I will substitute the master bathroom (a disaster that also needs attention from Elizabeth's Own Plumbing Company), and do stuff in different rooms for the extra room. Kitchen, den, and MBR are what really need it. Need to do church website work as well, but when? The paperwork in the kitchen is extremely pressing.

where do you put your return address labels..
passwords for computer - I have so many different places where I have different passwords. is there an easy way to keep track of them. dd younger said: I just remember.. lol I don't

photos you take.. I have lost so many photos on my phone and computer when they died. dd's use their phones but much is lost - how do you keep track and up to .date on your photos... I am not - do you put them on computer disc and where do you store them and how? I am struggling in this department

I keep address labels in my planner that I mostly use as an address book. P-wrds are kept together off line in a special
place. Card file would be great for those! Saidmshe who has called the internet cable provider for it more than once! LOL!

Found knitting needles for thicker yarn SO happy!
4 apples for today are peeled cored sliced and flash freezing now.
cleared needle and cro. Hook containers off the desk thanks for the insp. Yesterday! Just 1 mag and 3-4 books on desk now.

I keep all my passwords in a book purchased specifically for that. I bought it at C hapters/I ndigo whatever it's called currently. We have three names here with C oles being the tiniest version of this particular store group. It's a small black book with a black elastic around the cover part. I don't think there is a name on the exterior, but the interior looks like an alphabetical phone book, but each area on every page allows for e mail and password instead of country and postal code.

I put the new bedskirt on the bed. It needed to be ir on ed, so I did that.

I am SLOWLY setting up a card file for passwords, b/c they change so often, you know. For one reason or another, you'll be asked to "Please change your password," etc. So cards seem to be the most practical solution. BUT... I have a bunch on a 5x8 card, and I haven't transferred them to individual cards yet.

Peppermint - I like peppermint cocoa very much. There's a mint variety of the Land O Lakes packets that is so tasty, although that falls into category of a rare treat. I still have not perfected homemade stevia cocoa yet, but when I do, I think a drop or two of peppermint flavoring would be delightful. I believe one of the fast food places offered a peppermint frappe during holidays.

Decluttering started in bathrooms today. Sounds simple but requires lots of thought!
Cleaning is the bedroom, where last week's declutter could have used more time!

"Listening out" for dd, who was sick (tummy) this morning to the point she had no time for a shower and just threw on clothes right before school run time. She had had a tall glass of milk upon returning from youth group last evening. This was lactose-free milk. Still, she was tossing in the night and awakened sick. I am wondering if this indicates a true dairy allergy, or indicates that the Walmart brand of lactose-free we'd picked up this time is not as certain as others. So far, she hasn't called or emailed.

Reading just a bit on the net, it could have been the relatively large amount of milk. No dairy milk can be gotten 100 percent free of lactose, and most people can handle some small amount of lactose even if they are lactose intolerant. One thing I read that has me confused is that you must inherit from BOTH parents the inability to digest lactose, and I simply have never had a problem with even large quantities of milk and neither did either of my parents, also no family lore about it at all.

I agree with Nancy's cardfile idea for keeping any numbers/usernames etc.

Hello everyone....I like Mondays also. It is good for me to have a quiet day after a usually busy weekend of weekly routine cleaning and company here Saturday and Sunday. With the house neat and clean I can breeze through daily chores quickly then settle down for Desk Day. Harmony, I like your office set-up. Sounds like it works well. I try to pay most bills online and have a file for each account, including insurance, utility, credit card etc. I used to print out receipts but that adds double to the paper so I write the date, amt paid and reference # on the bill and in my checkbook for a record.

Happy Birthday to Nancy's dmom. Today is also one of my dh's nephews birthday. We celebrated our dgd13's birthday yesterday when dfam#2 came for dinner; hers was on the 7th Jan. Her dsis's birthday is on the 17th - this Saturday. Jan. is a busy month!

Ddil made a meal of sausage and peppers and teriyaki chicken and brought them for our dinner yesterday. We made the rice and green beans to go with, and we had a birthday cake for dgd13 for dessert. I sent the left over chicken, rice and string beans and most of the cake home with them.

Today is a rainy, dull day here - a cool 73*. A good day to straighten up my desk, take care of a couple of items, check emails then curl up with a good book! Have a good afternoon, everyone!

Good afternoon, I am finally back among the living! With the peppermint hot choc talk, I am making myself a mocha - coffee with a little hot chocolate mix added to warm myself up.

We had a delightful weekend with these "long lost cousins." Or maybe we were the long lost cousins. The 83 y/o matriarch is a first cousin to dh's dmom, making dh and her kids (our contemporaries) second cousins. A very eclectic interesting group: they have all lived in Israel, the male cousin is married to a lovely Asian woman and they have three kids, and we may to to their daughter's bat mitzvah in NJ next year. The one who originally contacted dh is very orthodox and lives in Israel with her dh and young son - we didn't meet her until after sundown on Sat because don't drive or ride in car on Shabbat. She wore a wig as hair covering. The daughter we had dinner w on Friday night is married to an Irish Jew by choice, who chanted Torah with a Moroccan trope, or melody. And the fourth daughter is a university professor of Judaic studies whom we may consult (with dd) in regard to dd's career choices. Fun, but exhausting travel and weekend.

I need to get busy and I'm not even sure where to start. I need to mail a package to dd today but may have to wait until tomorrow. I must do some Excel schedules for the religious school and for dsis' money. Should do some clean up here - the house was pristine when we came in yesterday, not now!

I need to p/u Moses between 3 and 6:30 today. Vet left a message that all went well and he is recovering.

-call doc about OT which she wanted for me when I was there for ck up on Dec 23
-start the work for religious school - we have meeting tomorrow evening - set timer and work for 30 min
-clear/wipe down kitchen counters
-brush and floss my teeth - while I'm in there straighten up the MBath
