So dreary, damp, and cold here. Temp in high 30s - we had rain/mist last night and cloudy (yet again) here today.

I am making real progress on the pile of papers on my desk. Slow, but progress. If I had a period of time that I could get a head of steam and just work on it and I could do some real damage.

This time:
-change clothes, brush teeth, etc. (not a shower day)
-walk ddogs
-reboot laundry (fold and put away two loads, hang delicates, start another load w tablecloth and cloth napkins
-schlep three or four scrapbooks from the garage upstairs (while looking for photos for dh last week, found a box of scrapbooks that needs to be upstairs, not in garage)
-clear breakfast bar

Good morning! At Girls' Night Out, after Chinese food and part 1 of homework, DD12 found that the book she wanted was out of print. (I had promised to take her to the bookstore with her Christmas gift card). Part 2 of homework was done at the bookstore cafe. Next, she wanted to go to the ice cream place, but they did not have her flavor. Fortunately, we found the book, used, at another location. also found a Flower Fairy book there. For some reason I have always loved the Flower Fairies.

After she left, I got the animal org minutes typed and sent and printed out all the stuff I need for the org board meeting tonight. I was supposed to fill out some of the paperwork this morning on the train, but I forgot. I will have to do it on the way home. I was hoping to find my lost library book in my office this morning, but it is not here. I will have to call the train office and see if I left it there. The mortgage company finally decided they have enough papers from me and are scheduling a meeting on Friday. They will come out to my office. I need to reserve a conference room.

Payroll plan: record two more training videos, investigate bug found in report while working on videos, get list of classes I would like to take.

Tonight's plan: animal org board meeting, get yarn if time (unlikely), webwork.

Here's a question for you ladies: I have a 'cold spot' on the top of my right ankle. It feels like I have a wet spot on my socks there (I do not). Sometimes it feels like there is a cold breeze hitting only that spot. This has been going on for two days now. WHY?

Harriet: Clothing stores will sell you the items right off the mannikin.

Kathryn: I didn't email anyone about the site being down, because I assumed the problem was on my end.

I'm productive but don't feel like I'm making progress.

Kitchen chores are done. Laundry is started (there will be three loads today and I put away a load from 2 days ago.)

Emailed the cruise line because there's conflicting information about the dining policy. My travel agent says that if I book a table for 8 the Maitre d' will fill the table, Cruise Critic forums says otherwise. So it is possible I still have no reservations (and their software update deleted the 5 out of 21 I had already made.) I will not sail Crystal again because dining is a highlight for dh and I, but on this cruise line we seem to be stuck with each other every night. I may as well be eating in the cabin then because for dh and I, it isn't about the food, it is about the company and if there's no company then I don't want a long, drawn out meal with lots of courses and fancy food.

I have one more email to send and then I'm done the planning for the trip (unless the dining reservations blow up.) I just have to confirm our days in Cape Town, specifically that we want a convertible for the second day. I'll have to assume that weather will be fine, otherwise I'm wasting money!

glad you have sunshine d nancy!

my desk area is clean for now :D
lets see in a month ;)

I am now in basement on put away duty.. woo hoo (I know you are jealous)

what is shocking me: I was so proud of myself, in the past, by not having too many projects going on at once.(which was huge for me) - but as with anything- pride goeth before the fall - more of a shock which made me trip into the fall - I realized i have had, in my mind projects that I dreamed of doing, that date back so many years that I haven't done because of lack of planning. "One day" has been my mantra when I come across the paper, item etc... I was a bit disappointed that I haven't done these things that I really wanted, and still, wanted to do. Without a plan of attack (manageable parts) nothing gets done for me. For me writing them on paper isn't enough because that system seems to be confusing and mind cluttering and inefficient. Binders with page protectors don't work. I am trying a project expandable folder with one project in each that need a plan of doing and then action. I have the system (i hope) now on my shelf in my office in an open file that lets it stand up. I am hoping I don't add to it and get things accomplished.

it's embarrassing how long I have kept these projects but with out a direction I can see why I didn't get them done.
christmas tree skirt (25 years), hanging up pictures in front hall going up the stairs - (3 years  ), fix dd olders doll quilt she made... (2" to sew) 18 years
putting really old photos of family in frame ornament holders (round circle 1/4 thick x 1-1/2") dream one, and more.

all projects in one file and individually marked in pencil

I am having a temporary moment of depression (even though not that age.. a little bit of erickson's theory - unproductive, feel guilt about our past, or feel that we did not accomplish our life goals as far as doing projects and health - I am not stagnant and it is silly to look at projects I didn't do as a reason to be down on myself.. thank Goodness it doesn't last long - time to take a break from seeing what I haven't done and looking at the positive.

There is always a next right thing to do around here!

Today I have worked on another set of spreadsheets, updated a couple and created a complicated one. Looking at it right now, I think there is a problem with a couple of the figures, but I have already gotten rid of the hand-written notes, so I don't know how I came up with those figures.

Yay, after typing the above, I had a thought and looked in another folder and found the notes and everything is just right. Ooooh, I get so confused! I am into the most confusing (complicated) part of getting my tax info ready.

Dealt with the mass marketing guy here this morning. We are trying something new this year.

LadyM, I'm glad you have a way to get around the light glare problem with your eyes. The glares for me at night are awful, not starbursts, just too much light that keeps me from seeing the lane markings, etc., especially when I'm making a turn and others' lights are in my eyes. It's hard for me to see the medians, etc. But, I am sitting up higher like you said, so maybe that helps.

My friend had her cataracts removed and had so much trouble because she chose those fancy lenses that are supposed to correct one's vision, and she had to have each eye done twice and she still has to wear readers. I'm used to my glasses, so I don't care about all that and I wouldn't put myself through double operations just so I wouldn't have to wear glasses. Plus those lenses are really expensive and not covered by medicare. I just have so much paperwork etc. all the time I can't imagine not being able to do what I need for the time I'm healing.

Might have to go out and rent a piece of equipment and take to jobsite. I hate doing this, but if I must...

And today I'm still coughing and my stomach is queasy. Oh, well...

Another check in. I am so aggravated with the refinance process. I spent hours and hours tracking down a document that we have gone round and round about, with two versions available, and neither quite they way they wanted it. Now, they tell me they don't need it after all and asked for an appointment to meet me and do the closing. All well and good, I thought and emailed them when/where/how info. Then, I get a message that there is a completely DIFFERENT document they really need (and of course I don't have it AT MY OFFICE!). They want to close Friday. I can't send the document until tomorrow IF I HAVE IT. Hate hate hate.

I have emailed the X about the child support document court snafu.

While planning my third training video, I found another bug, this one more serious. I can make the video without a fix, but we really do need to fix it before turning clients loose on it. I really AM a good software tester.

Before lunch, I will get the training list together and after lunch record the video. Then, I will need to work on the second one.

I am getting a sore throat and it is not being fixed by hot tea.

I did paperwork while watching Downton Abbey episode 2 online. I managed to process 43 papers while enjoying the show.

Then I went searching for a new web host for our church website. Yuck. I've put this off for so long ......hoping someone else would do it. I might of found a solution. I'm waiting to hear back from them.

Next up - lunch

I'm checking in late because I've been busy all morning.

Half the house is vacuumed, I did my hour on my gazelle, dusted and then straightened some closets and colored my hair. Just sitting down for a moment. Lunch is up next and then I will attack the rest of the house.

I'm thinking of you LadyM because I'm about to get my spin-mop out :D Gave myself a deadline to be done by 2:00. I have my fit group tonight and I am subbing for the next two days.

I just read an article that said dust is really composed of our dead skin cells, pet dander if one has a pet, dust mite and their poop. UCK to all of it. My d yson canister was filled to its brim this morning and I had only done half the house. Its not like its been awhile since I've vacuumed....did it five days ago....so its content truly disgusted me. Think I'll be doing this more often ...
