Good morning!
Twins, when you mentioned the vet making a house call in the future, it reminds me of the hard part of having pets. (((DMacs)))
I haven't mentioned this lately but remember dd1s dog that was partially paralyzed late summer and fall? Ruby is walking again. They do keep pet diapers on her in the house, I don't know if this will be permanent. I keep forgetting to ask dd1 what the vet said when they took her to the vet for shots recently. He thought she should be put down and gave them no hope.
I was able to get the SUV washed yesterday. Dh wanted to help me chamois it but he wasn't feeling good. He had a few good days last week and then hasn't felt very good for the last several days. I hope we find some answers with the CT scan he will have on Thursday.
Today it is suppose to be around 50. As long as it is above freezing for the next week, maybe the ice will finally melt that is in the street in front of our house. I have chipped away at it the last few days but the boxwood bushes that are along the sidewalk keep it shaded so that is why it has been so slow to melt.
Dh has warned me that if he gets grouchy this afternoon, it is because he is trying to go a day without cigarettes. Our governor is trying to raise the tax on cigarettes from .79 a pack to 2.29 a pack. That will raise the cost of cigarettes at least $15.00 a carton. I have noticed that since dh retired, he doesn't smoke as much as he did while working. It always drives me crazy that even as sick as he has been, he still drug himself to the garage to smoke.
I need to balance the checkbook today. I am trying to stay on top of it.

d uncle has lung cancer.. it's official .. they took a wedge of his upper left lung out and took a lymph node that looked suspicious. if the lymph node is cancerous they will go in again. - I had a feeling that this was exactly what it is. He will have to have chemo and radiation which I don't think he will have. So now my job is to be supportive and help where I can. I feel bad for him because he is alone (he lost his wife around January last hear after she was bed ridden for 13 years where he took good care of her). I am worried. I feel bad saying this but he has not always been a man with upstanding character. He would defend his family no matter what but his thinking process of what is right and wrong is different than my own and the rest of the family. so saying prayers for him. He has a distant relationship with his daughter who has a hurt soul.

I haven't been using the pool enough to justify the cost ($68 a month.) At best I'm only getting there once a week so that works out to $17 a visit. Even if I double that, it won't be much more than the public pool (better pool facility, lousy change rooms) and I don't have to pay for the times I'm not there. I liked the change rooms (and made sure to stress that to both the manager and on the exit survey.)
My membership, of course, also paid for unlimited classes except I misunderstood the sign up procedure. I wanted to do the senior yoga but the form had 2 asterisks for it which indicates a heart recovery program, instead of 1 (requires registration). I felt it needed 3 asterisks (2 for heart, 1 for register) and because it didn't have that, I missed out. And I'd miss out next term because I'll be away during the sign up period. So, despite belonging for 5 months, I couldn't do classes even when I wanted to. Finally, you are paying for the cardio and weight machines. But I have that at home (at least cardio and am not interested in weight.)
I'd rejoin Curves or a similar circuit program but there isn't one in the area so I'll pass on that and just look for a pool. I'll be driving farther but paying less and getting a much better pool. I'm sure it will be more crowded but when the altercation took place yesterday there were only four of us in the pool. The problem is the serious swimmers felt the others had no right to be in the pool. He actually ran into me at the narrowest point (15' wide there with just the two lanes marked.) I was swimming in the lane he took over (he passed me) so even if he wasn't looking, mentally he should have known I was there.
I guess that's why Curves appeals to me. Men can be totally engrossed with themselves and don't pay attention to how their actions are affecting those around them. Occasionally that is true with women as well but in general, because of our evolutionary responsibility to watch out for children, we naturally are aware of what is going on around us and avoid impacting others when it is easy to do so. If someone is going slowly in front of us, we'll either slow down or circle around, we won't run the slow-mover down.
As for the tone, I'm playing classical music now and that is helping in that the music doesn't cause as much tension in me as the tone. I'll go with dh to his hair appointment just to get out of the apartment.
The boiler valve is to be replaced tomorrow. Hopefully that is the problem and we'll be relieved of the noise. If not, I don't know what I'll do. I can't stand being with myself right now because of how I'm behaving and the stress I feel when I note the tone is likely the source of my mood.

DMacs was happy to go for a short walk. We've had so many illnesses with him that we thought might be the end - beginning three years back but he keeps bouncing back somehow. Vet and PT both have said they would have bet against him making it this long, so we certainly can't count him out, either.
I got through a decent stack of paper, more than 10 I think.
The thing I need to work on next is the temple financial stmt for the meeting tomorrow evening. Will work to the TOTH on this...

Back from lunch (our chip wagon wasn't there so I grabbed a sandwich at a donut shop), dh's hair cut and grocery shopping. We did the errands downtown with 5 minutes to spare so only had to pay one fare each on the bus. Groceries are put away. I picked up the mail before coming upstairs. Dh walked up (with 10 lbs of veggies on his back and about 5lb of other things in a bag) and found it exhausting. Lately he did the 20 flights in under 4 minutes which is often faster than the elevator if you get on a milk run or have to wait for it to come. He was so much longer than me (going to the mail room first) that I had all my outdoor layers off and was just tying my inside shoes when he came out of the stairwell. This is part of his training for Kilimanjaro in case you want to know why he's doing the stairs. I really need to start doing them too but will have to work up to his fitness level and I'm not sure that is possible.
I cleaned the bathrooms before leaving but need to start washing the towels now. I'm tired though so may take a nap while the washer is on.
For now, the tone is gone so it is blessedly quiet here again, just the slight hum of the traffic.

Kathryn, if the tone continues, could you mention it to management? It's possible they might be able to soundproof the room with more insulation...and you sure shouldn't have to put up with that noise into your apartment.
(blessed) so sorry for DUncle's diagnosis. You are so wonderful to be there for him and take him to hospital (so early too!)
(Twins) wanted to say I was sorry about DMacs injury. You have certainly taken the best care of him all these years and I'm sure that is why he's lasted this long. Hopefully a little while longer...
I slept in this morning on purpose to make sure pain reliever had taken effect before I attempted to get up. Pain reliever is 3x/day but it doesn't last that long. The hour or so in between was really difficult. Perhaps I am getting better, cough is less and pain so far today has been less. Tylenol helps.
Funny how things are around here now. I've had to rely more on DH and that's a whole long job of explanations and notes. Today I gave him the top to a plastic container so he would know what I wanted from the store...and told him where to find it...yesterday when he was picking up Rx he got some other things and came home...happy that his Olive oil purchase was the cheapest - but it was a combination of Olive Oil and Canola...which is why I use Olive Oil so I don't have to use Canola...
But I don't ever tell him he's doing things wrong. He is trying his best, but so used to me being charge of all these details. Two days of driving back and forth, he finally took my library book to drop in the outside bin along his way; I put it in the car on the dash so he wouldn't forget. At least he's trying!
Hoping the weakness I feel in my legs goes away and doesn't negate all the progress I was making with leg exercises.

~~~waving HI to all~~~~
I am loosing track of time. I need to check when the last time I posted here. I do come a couple times a day and CUOP because I ***NEED*** my SHE fix to stay sane.
DGD3 is down for her nap so I have some down time. Hum....I can't remember if I told you that you that DD sent DGD3 to visit us again. I'm not sure how long DGD3 will be here. DGD3 starts speech therapy in 2 weeks so I know DD will come get her sometime in the next 2 weeks. I've learned to not ask DD questions because the answer is not reliable. I have found that it is better to not have information than to have wrong information. I continue in my effort to maintain "High Hopes and Low Expectations" with DD. It seems to be a good combination in our continual effort to rebuilding our relationship. I consider it a miracle that we have made this much progress in a relative short time. We have a L-O-N-G way to go but I am pleased about the progress we have made in the last few months.
This morning two handy-men fellows worked in my kitchen. They switched the location of the refrigerator & stove, removed a build in microwave and installed a vent hood over the stove.
Which required building a cabinet over the vent hood. I am sooooooo pleased to have the stove in the correct location now. I am looking forward to cooking meals with a simplified work-flow.
Now the stove is located next to my food prep counter.
I had to call plumber AGAIN. DGD3 put something down the toilet AGAIN. When it overflowed I asked her if she put something in it and she said something about a toy and I know the T-paper roll was also all gone (I put a new roll yesterday). When it happened, I was standing less than 5' from the bathroom door. The handyman asked me a question about the changes he was making so my attention was diverted for a few minutes. ARRRggghhhh.......
LO is home ***POOF***
Hello Dear Ladies,
Finally got here today.
Cooler weather again for us. don't need heat today but maybe tonight we will.
Yesterday I worked on laundry and did NC son's taxes.
Today is kitchen clean-up. Have made lunch, cleaned fridge and ran a load of dishes.
Worked with DH over budget woes. He isn't getting paid when he thought he was and needs $ for next project. So we do some more juggling again.
think I might nap and then work in kitchen some more.
great day to all!
