Wednesday Optimism and clarity

My day started well. I have been up and going for almost 4 hours. LO had an successful start to his day and I dropped him off at school in an good mood with all his things in backpack accounted for and organized. DH is fed/launched to MPB. DGD3 has been snuggled, dressed, fed and is now watching cartoons. LO isn't a TV watcher so I find myself feeling strange at DGD3 sitting in front of a TV for 30 minutes without making a sound or moving. Two handy-men are currently working in our garage replacing the attic ladder. I've been told the attic in this house is completely finished with lights and flooring but I have never been up there because the previous ladder had a broken hinge (wasn't able to buy parts to repair it) I'm looking forward to seeing what the attic area looks like and thinking how that area can be utilized (or not).

I am taking great joy in completing the repairs to some of current owies. The Birthday House heater messed up during the cold spell and the repairman thought it was due to pipe freezing so a thermostat controlled pipe warmer was added......but we couldn't know for sure until it was warm enough for anything frozen to thaw. Today we took off our temporary fix and tried the heater AND IT WORKED!!

There is still a long list of things to fix but we can't work on them all at the same time. Currently we are working on -
** my vehicle is at repair shop ( struts & air suspension system)
** MPB - someone completely tore out the plumbing in a bay. Grrrr...DH is having to rebuild it from the equipment room through the attic into the bay.....
** MPB - spot free motor burned up. Can't get same motor so wiring has to be changed to accomdate the replacement motor. (DH is working with 2 suppliers on this)
** attic ladder - in progress
** RO faucet added in BH kitchen - in progress . Parts are on order and should arrive in 5-7 days
** Toilet stopped up (DGD3 strikes again!!!). Plumber has been called and should be here today.
** sheetrock repaired in laundry area and in guest bedroom closet.....in progress. Should be finished today
** two doors cut off and adjusted . Should be finished today

Once these repairs are finished we can start more that are waiting for attention.....

Good morning.

I had to drag myself out of bed because customer was coming to pick up big box of locks for her new doors. I had to bring them in from the shop and it was a heavy box. Sheesh, I have no strength any more.

She was here and I had to sit and talk with her a bit. Her project is coming along. Just another couple weeks at most and we will have her house all done. She told me DH was calmer recently now that the project is almost done. Ya think? She was mean about him being sick and didn't want him to take off and stay home. Some people...

Dee, glad it's working out for your dson. I know how that is. We are our own "bank" here and if there's not enough business $ we have to bail ourselves out and then refund it later. That's tough. But, we've never been as far in as your dson. People should pay their bills! DH generally takes their bill right to them, instead of my mailing them, because we get better results that way.

I've done some work in the kitchen. Not all. I've done some work at my desk. Not all. But bills are paid and to the box. I will do more when I've picked up some strength. I'm shaky weak right now. Going to go lay down. I'm still in nightgown & duster.

Today I am looking forward to getting to work with some new fibers. I have a half bag left from before I will work it up into yarn and the I can start on the new stuff, I have requested some from the gal that has a fiber processing business. This year will be up doing some grey with colors in it.

Got the sheets washed yesterday. The gkids & dd seem to be fighting colds. H was better today. I felt great yesterday so did toddlerN.

Another foggy morning here looking forward to the 56* degree weather this weekend in the forecast.

Yes, you're right, Harmony. I know he does a lot of calling at times to get people to pay their bills. A lot of his accounts are commercial and Dec/Jan are notoriously late! Of course there's Christmas/Hannukah, NY Sales Tax, Property taxes, looming income tax, etc, etc, -you know the excuses. Sure he had to 'hammer' to get some of his accounts to pay at least something. But as you know, overhead just keeps on a comin'.

I'm plodding along doing 'puttery' things, but making improvements as I go. DD called to say her computer was out on the truck for delivery. She just ordered it yesterday and they said delivery would be about the 28th but she could pay $15 for sooner delivery. She didn't and guess what -she's mighty glad she did not. Turns out the computer she wanted from (B B uy) was in Gainesville. That's probably less than 50 miles.

Thanks for that link, Twins. Pasted it where I can find it (what a concept) and will start trying those for a while to see if it helps. Have trouble with both hands. Middle fingers especially -both I have really hurt at different times down here and the result is low mobility and pain. Anything is better than nothing.

Good Morning, Villagers! Nice opener, Blessedw2!

I've been up awhile, s2s, shampooed, and am on my way to work on a list I need to get done, with dates on it, and need to put everything into chronological order. At least, on my sample page, which is NOT in order, I've got everything dated and numbered, in the order they shall appear upon the final copy. In other words, in my seemingly sounding disorganized, I AM organized! Do you know what I mean? It's like when WE understand something we are doing, but NOBODY ELSE DOES! Oh, that got a chuckle, out loud, out of me just now!

The showers will move in on Thursday, afternoon, I believe. I don't know if they're turning to heavier rains on Thursday or on Friday. It was extremely foggy here this morning, too.

Good morning all! Annoying news: I don't think I fixed my faucet. I did catch up on all my emails (~100) and got church website caught up. I had my car yesterday at payroll and left in time to get DD12 about 15 minutes early. On the way home there was a 10 mile back up, so instead I didn't get there until 730. Normally, I get there at 630. I have to return her at 800. I called to tell her to eat, but she still wanted Chinese as well. We took it home, and she stayed an extra 10 minutes so she could finish. She wants to have a Mardi Gras tree (Christmas tree decorated Mardi Gras style), so I took down all the Christmas ornaments and put them in a box. We listened to The Grand Illusion (long ago Styx) and she promised to wear her concert shirt today. I found out she got star-points for telling her Dropkick Murphys concert experience to the class. (Star-points are redeemed for raffle tickets, where she can win a stuffed animal. Two classes have this system. Last week, she won the animal in both classes.)

I am in dire need of black pants. I cannot get the cat hair and my hair out of these. Hate, hate, HATE polyester, and last year that was what mom gave me for Christmas. Of course, I did not know I hated it until too late. Never used it before. I guess it would work for someone who has no animals and has dark hair that won't show on black pants. (I don't get light color pants because they invariably stain). I don't think I will do that tonight.

I guess this is what I will do tonight: finish the dreaded scrapbook, thank you note to xSIL, letter to friend, take apart faucet so I will have parts to show hardware store people, MBR - put away suitcase and LOLs, Java book study. A rather ambitious plan, so probably not all will get done. However, by writing it down, I can keep it in mind.

Soon, I must call my investment company to find out why they have not (after months) credited my account, then call the life insurance company to find out why they continue to send me a bill that belongs to the X.

DeeClutter: What do you mean 'non-discerning' birds? Don't you know they have a point system? Your freshly washed car is now worth twice its previous value.

Dh is going to the church's annual meeting (here) by himself today. I've decided I'm staying home and probably taking a nap.

Dd's computer was delivered about 20 minutes ago so don't have to watch for that any more. She's using a new Sil houette cutter she got for Christmas and downloads tons of things from their site. But just as soon as she decided to use dsonil's computer -that's when he wants it. Besides she wanted to download things on it for this summer up north. She will truly like having her own computer again at home.

Found out yesterday that gd16 was given a Tablet (box) for Christmas -with nothing inside. She was told she could earn it when she shows respect for belongings (hers and others) and when she can show responsibility. Needless to say they still have it. She has no electronics whatsoever right now and probably won't for at least the forseeable future. Oh how I pray she 'gets it' and soon. She is now 16 1/2 (or will be in 3 days) so that leaves her 18 months till she's 18 and can legally 'walk out the door'.

Oh, my! That's too funny about "disconcerting birds".

I got my itemized chronological list done, quickly. I highlighted, underlined, and boldfaced the dates, above each grouping of things, by date. It went a lot quicker, than I'd previously imagined. Whew!

I need to see if there's a LOL to do and need to write tomorrow's PODA, so it's not hitting me later tonight.

I got a $20 Target gift card yesterday, from a cousin-in-law, in CO, and told her I'd go shopping next week. I'm uncertain if I want a purse, an angel, or something for my office or dining room table, to be reminded of her by. We've known and loved and have supported each other for 44.5 years. We're closer than my half-sister and I have ever been. We're closer in ages, too, and maybe that makes it different. Also, her DH's cousin's kids and grandchildren, are our kids' and grandkids' cousins. Dsis has no children.

I'd better run. I just remembered, I need to use my QVAR! I totally forgot. I'll check the laundry basket, too.

I've done all but temple f/s. While procrastinating on getting to it (btw, I can process a lot of paper while I put something else off) I decided that I am definitely out as treasurer of the synagogue at the end of this fiscal year which is April 30. I've given "notice" that I will continue one year only with religious school, mainly because I want to support the friend who will be chair next year and not leave him in a lurch. I'm going to send an email to temple president right now....
