Good for you, Kathryn. I'm second guessing just going out to get the mail -it's quite cool here (for FL) -would seem balmy there.

Ewwww....just pulled a plastic jar of parmesan (large size) out of the back of the fridge. Won't buy that again -it's already blue throughout. Thought we were saving money...hah! At least I have the ground kind in a shaker jar. Need it for the That's Amore Soup. Will make that later this afternoon. DD didn't see the turkey sausage on the grocery list Sunday, so I pulled a J Dean Italian sausage roll out of the freezer yesterday. We ended up cleaning up the leftovers last night. It's cool enough that soup will really taste good to us tonight. I had dd buy enough to double the recipe this time so will have some leftovers from that.

Dh and I just finished lunch. I'm trying very hard to take as many 'extra' steps as I can to get my count up. My aim is at least 6,000 -more than that would be just plain 'ducky'. I know I should aim for 10,000 but it's hard to get that many in when I'm inside all day. A walk around W mart helps a lot in the count but don't plan to go there today.

Just finished folding the lol. Will put it away when dh comes out of the bathroom. Did a load of 'whites' and they all are stored in drawers in the bath.

Dsonil was supposed to hear one way or the other if he got the job at c oke co la yesterday. However, he and 1 other are so close in the running that they called and said they will make a decision by Friday. Praying for him to get this job as his one in Tampa is apparently very short lived.

Focusing on doing 90-minutes of housework today, tackling paper clutter in 2 offices and trying to complete a "challenging" Empire dress for DGD-2. The dress is done, for the bodice, I'm weaving in loose ends now, and the skirt's next. It's going to be very cute.

Just worked on my calendar, need to go log exercise/activity from yesterday, and check more emails. DH is watching a loud movie, he doesn't have his hearing aids in yet, so with my office door closed, the TV's blaring. As soon as he s2s, he puts them in.

Home from PT. I can get my left hand into a a pretty decent fist now, but I can feel an uncomfortable stretch still in pinkie finger. I think I only have two or three more sessions left?

Dcousin just emailed about DNA testing and I sent off a long reply, now have to pkg up the test and get it ready to send. Am also sending a note and photo of mother and a favorite cousin here.

I checked in for my flight tomorrow and printed the boarding passes.

Still haven't walked dogs, altho they have been in and out in the back yard.

When I head out, need to go to JCC to p/u meals for dmom, then to temple to sign cks, then to mother's. Haven't heard from dog sitter gal about meeting her later.

I seem to have taken a step back. I know I need to eat, and that is one of the problems making me feel weaker than normal, but food just all looks yucky to me. I took my last antibiotic today.

Another big project / statement done, emailed off, and I need to go to post office to mail package.

Good afternoon! Yes... 1:00 pm here in the sunny South... and 47 degrees, looks like. I might make an effort to get out and walk a little. Got my new yoga pants in from B elk yesterday and they feel so good! I wouldn't wear them out anywhere, b/c they are too "clingy" -- but here in the house, or just for walking, they will be perfect.

DS called and talked for over an hour. He had just finished spraying the basement of dmil's house w/bleach, to get the mold/mildew out. He said contractor friend told him to spray it, leave a fan running, and spray again in 2 weeks. Then they are going to tear out the old paneling and seal the block. Contractor friend said that would be the best route, and he could paint over the sealant. DH agrees, b/c paneling, sheetrock, all have been failed attempts as far as solving the mildew problem. Contractor advised ds to run a fan down there 24/7. The basement is very small, and its only use will be for storage, shelter from a storm, and possibly a playroom for dgs when he is older. But it's never going to be a "public" space that has to look nice.

DS is also sooo frustrated with dbil's slow pace. DS said, "I could be doing so much, if I knew that he wasn't going to come in later and say, 'Where's my ____???'" DS (and all of us) feel that virtually, dbil has forfeited his rights to the house, but we also know he has a claim to certain personal items of his own, of course, and that he and dh need to go through personal items of their parents. DDIL is so frustrated and so overwhelmed with their own crowded living quarters that she said she was going to have to go spend some time with her parents if the house move does not start showing some progress in the next month or so.
So. I told ds we would pick a night when dh is able to go with us, and we will tell dbil we are going over there to clean out closets, kitchen cabinets, etc, and if he could meet us for an hour or so, that would be great. Then maybe we could at least box up his stuff and MAYBE he and dh could make decisions re: family Bibles, letters, etc.
DS said, "If I just had ONE room that I knew everything had been cleared out that I wasn't keeping, then I could start making some moves... but I don't want to (for example) take a bunch of my stuff out there, say, Granddaddy Lucylee's suits and stuff, and then have dbil start going through the closet and saying 'Oh hey, I didn't know Daddy had this; I can wear this!'" LOL... Like Grandaddy MR. Lee would have ever owned a Ralph Lauren sportcoat... * shaking my head * (But Granddaddy Lucylee had one that the tags were never removed from, and he and ds were just about the same size.) Granddaddy Mr. Lee was more of a coveralls kind of man. I can't remember the last time dmil got him a new suit -- but ds, who loves all things old, is actually wearing some of his old suits now, which dmil gave ds a few years ago.

Oh well... dh says all this has to wait until he gets back from the doctor tomorrow... he is always in such a tizzy before his annual check-up.

Nancy, thanks for the good start to the day. I know those grands will LOVE seeing the new baby chicks!

Hello dear ladies,

Another beautiful day here for us with temps in the upper 70s.

I had been praying for weather like this to help dh ,he's working on an outside project that has a deadline of February 1st. So the warm weather has helped immensely.

Need to unload the dishwasher and wash the pots and pans from lunch.

Dson who works at Walmart will be here just in time me to head out to work. He'll babysit dogs and dbrothef while dh and other dsons work on project.

Off to those dishes.

We did get to go. We took a side trip on the way there so that I could talk to them by phone and make sure there were no problems. We stopped off at a Tractor Supply, I called to make sure we were a "go" and we picked up feed and kept traveling. We made great time of just over 1.5 hours on the way back because we left when traffic was low. That was good timing.

HRH's gifts were a big hit - he was delighted about that and spent some time going over various instruction sheets with dbil.

We had a tour of the kitchen in its new set-up, saw the fine new juicer, which is in use 3 to 4 times every morning, watched them as they made their daily pot of vegetable soup - very good and totally dependent upon herbs for extra flavor, no salt. I also tasted the homemade super-simple dairy products they make - similar to cottage cheese and frozen yogurt - that he is able to eat. Amazed at their refrigerator inside. Neat and perfect, it has only, from top down, foods prepared for the day (tossed salad, potato salad w/ no mayo, soup, milk from organic dairy), then a variety of bright colored juices jarred that morning, then in the bins new veggies just arrived not yet processed.

There were a couple moments things almost got emotional but we all pulled that back and stayed upbeat. Very glad we went. It was hard to pull away and stop chatting but they are truly busy-busy.

Well I got that envelope of stuff to the post office, weighed and mailed. Also got to the bank.

Wish I felt good enough to do something else around here, but it'll all just have to wait.

I have to take DH to jobsite to get a truck. He got a job for tomorrow. CPA has called and we had that conversation.... and DH's feelings are hurt (I guess he feels criticized) that he said we need to get more money for our jobs. Well, all the illegal workers around here will just get everything then. This economy around here is brutal. At least we are supporting ourselves. So many out-of-work people just doing their own thing, legal or not, and those of us with licenses and insurances to pay and permit fees...well we're the ones having a rough time. sigh...

Roo woke me @ 4:15 a.m. today so tonight begins the training him in the separate inclosure helping it will muffle the crowing.
Wish me luck . I wil ise corn and oats for a bribe.

Got a butternut squash cooked in the crock pot made for some yummy lunch for me.

ToddlerN has a nose cold resting on the couch now.

I worked on some knitting this am getting the rib in the right guage again. .
