Still have not made the bed or folded that laundry, but needed to stop for a break and for lunch. Now I am going again, trying to get stuff done today. The papers on my desk have been whittled down!

-make the bed
-fold three lol
-walk the dogs
-brush teeth, wash up (probably before walking dogs
-ck for needed light bulbs for Master bath

I've finished the payroll tax submission and have the amount I owe ready to paid when I go out this afternoon.

Have printed off the tax chits and filed them in our personal tax chit file. At this time of year, the chits are coming in fast and furious so I need a place to keep it all. I have a file for it in my drawer but now's the time to keep it out on my desk so I don't let the chits pile up (and potentially get lost.) Out of sight, out of mind for me so it is now added to the mess on my desk.

I had no idea how late it was - time to have some lunch. I had a large snack at 11 so that's why I'm not starving now.

At our Church, an Episcopal Church, the men cook pancakes for Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper and also CLEAN UP! It's so wonderful for the females, teens and kids, too. I enjoyed reading the post, Kathryn.

Also, Kathryn, how many vitamins does your vitamins dispenser hold? Is it a small pill organizer or is it one, which stands up and it's taller, than a horizontal pill holder? Oh, I guess it wouldn't work for me, even if we found a vitamin dispenser, because I have 3 or 4 vitamins, which are all reddish footballs!

DH has 7 friends, with another friend, in New Orleans, renting a house together, to celebrate Mardi Gras there, but it's about 10 degrees warmer, here at home, in WA State, than it is in New Orleans right now! But on TV, everybody's bundled up in long pants, hoodies, coats, and hats. They seem to be milling around and enjoying themselves. (But DH said he does NOT think ANY women will be going topless to "flash", like some do, because it's too COLD!) I laughed at him!

I decided to read an over-500-years-old book by Thomas A. Kempis, called "The Imitation of Christ," for my Lent. It's translation is by William C. Creasy, and right above his name, on the cover, it states: "A Timeless Classic for Contemporary Readers," too.

I woke up at 6:20 a.m.! I D2s, etc.... got up, saw 2 HUGE bucks, crossing in back, going into the neighbor's woods. Later, I saw twin yearlings and a doe, go around our house, and go to the neighbor's woods, on the same trail. Oh, my! These bucks were magnificent to see, in the early dawn light, too. ♥ The birds are in a high number, too. It'll be about 57* today, but rain's slowly on its way. We can use more moisture.

I'm doing a LOL, I'm writing a letter to an R. N. friend, and I've written in my journal and read my meditation book, by Stephen R. Covey. I've turned on the local radio AM show, which turns out to be a Christian one, which surprises me a bit. I've never heard them broadcast a program like this before. It's very well done. I believe he said he was in Ohio or South of Ohio. He's answering calls, by people who have difficulties with family. Like elderly parents, which are impatient, discipline of children, etc.. It's like this man's a male form of "Dear Abby," and his replies are so good! It's a very good show and I only turned it on here, because my local FM station had static, from my washer machine going! This AM station has no static, and they're both from the same city, only about 2 miles away from each other. I "wonder" if the one station's radio tower's taller. Could be.

Hi everyone! I have been getting all kinds of code deployment issues at payroll, so I am doing a complete reinstall of Visual Studio. Just the uninstall is taking forever, so I updated my daily log. I STILL have time to wait, so I am here. Today is a day of meetings, installations, and testing some changes. Also tracking down a potential bug. I had to walk to my office in snow, did NOT expect that today.

Last night, not much got done, because I got distracted by computer Scrabble. I did wrap as many of DD's gifts as I had wrapping paper for, synched my calendar, emailed the lawyer, and rechecked a library book. I had to eat out because I had a killer migraine and knew that there was insufficient type and quantity of food ready made at home. Right now, I am wondering if I left the cat with the prescription diet in the bathroom. Not a crisis if I did, there is food, water, and a catbox, but she will be very BORED.

Tonight, DD13 and I will be helping clean up at the youth group's pancake dinner fundraiser. That will probably take all our time together. After that, I need to return a different library book, get more wrapping paper from the dollar store, get groceries, and, if time, get to the pet food store. When I get back, it's time for wrapping DD's gifts and church webwork.

There is much short term pending stuff if I have enough time: thank you note, pictures and upload of baby dress and Anna dress, child support paperwork, anchor cabinet. Longer term pending list is too long to post!

The uninstall has finished and I have started the reinstall (also long process). I need to call my financial adviser now.

Feline Friend My vitamin dispenser is the kinds with 7 'days', each with 4 compartments (Morn, Noon, Eve, Bed.) I put mine in Morn and Eve and dh uses Noon and Bed, so when I fill the dispenser, it is good for 2 weeks, morning pills only. Our bedtime vitamins are in the bedroom, this sits on the kitchen counter. Each of the days is a removable unit so, if we are away for just a few days, I take just a few of the units with us, instead of the whole tray.

I had lunch, washed up the morning and lunch dishes and then did the weekly kitchen chores. Now to clean the bathrooms.

Bathrooms cleaned and their floors and the kitchen floor are mopped. I electric broomed the rest of the apartment, it was vacuumed last week and only needed a touch-up.

Now we are off to dd's.

I just s2s, shaved my neckline, because it is a very low-growing one in back, near the bottom of my neck, and it looks "odd" when I wear buns or ponytails. It's wispy, fine white hair, too. I think it looks silly hanging out of my hair clips and buns, etc... DH bought me a chignon today, which is now known as a bun maker. I thought it was funny, because chignon is French, which sounds more sophisticated to me, than a regular run-of-the-mill bun maker. The clerk told DH, at the grocery store, "Don't tell me this is for you?!" He said, "No, but if I don't come home with one, I won't have ANY hair left!"

I received 2 nice letters today. I wrote a business letter, too, to go out tomorrow. DH will get more postage stamps tomorrow, too. I got a magazine from the company, which I keep unsubscribing from on-line, so wrote "Please, Cancel this Subscription," on their form. On-line, they state I HAVE unsubscribed, too, and I "opted out" of their emails. I don't want to go to the trouble of phoning them, since I feel by snail mail and on-line should be enough. I already had to make a business call today. I'd love to stay off the phone! Eventually, they should get the "message." If another issue comes, next month, I'll phone them. It's a magazine, which I used to love, especially because they featured a white-haired woman, who I felt was very interesting. But they decided to take her out of their issues, then changed their issues, and it never was what it used to be, for me. I didn't want to receive it anymore, especially when they all-of-a-sudden said I'd automatically subscribed to them, when I had not. I decided last summer, to let them lapse, in the New Year, when my subscription was up, but to my surprise, I'd "automatically" subscribed? I don't think so. It's awful, too, because so many people fall for this tactic, and go ahead and pay, regardless of whether they actually renewed or not, because they think they're "forgetting". I know I didn't renew, and I refuse to be coerced into renewing, since I don't care for the path, the magazine's taken, since they re-structured everything. It seems, IMHO, they decided to gear their focus more towards younger women, who are career-minded and/or have preschool or school age children. Very seldom do I read much about retirees, or for women, ages 60+.

It's been pretty here all day. DH has gout, he refuses to go to the Dr. because DH says it's not "that bad," and he thinks drinking more water will take care of it, as long as he can refrain from eating legumes now. We'd had dogs and beans, with chili beans and baked beans in it, in our small crock pot with cut up hot dogs. Then, at Dson's/Ddil's, he had a crock pot taco salad, on Valentine's Day, with legumes in it. He gets gout, across the top of his right foot, where a 12" x 12" beam had fallen across it, when he was a teen working in a plywood place, his Ddad ran.

We're playing music, the dryer just beeped, so I must run to hang/put away laundry. Then it'll be all caught up, for a day or two or three.

Ever notice how many celebrations, holidays, spiritual days, etc. focus on food? It's no wonder we have problems!

Only thing I ever celebrated around pancakes was maple syrup festival. Once, we went to see my gf in rural Maryland where they make lots of syrup, and the firehouse was hosting a pancake breakfast. It was all about the syrup, not anything spiritual.

Did I mention that DH was driving by a building and there were a couple guys cutting down some oaks. He stopped and asked if they'd put the logs in his truck instead of their trailer to haul away. He made 2 trips and got enough firewood for another year! Good for us, and those guys were very happy not to have to haul all the wood away.

I'm happy to see everybody still electrified. I'd been worried about some of you.

I had a few chores at county offices today, then went to bank and stopped at library next because it is next door to the bank. I got a couple chord books for piano. DGSon will be here this weekend and wants me to teach him the piano. All in a couple days. Right. And I did not learn that way, with just chords. I learned to read music (classical). So, we'll see what we can accomplish. He plays guitar with his youth group and I suspect he wants to try the keyboard too.

Spent way too long looking for a new purse. Thought of Lucylee as I went from place to place...and I could give a long list of what is wrong with all of them. I do not want to wear somebody's name on my purse, like I'm bragging or something. I do not get enamored by what brand things are. Was a waste of time. Couldn't find something just right, with pocket on outside for my cell phone, enough room but not too big...no fringe, no chain handles, no double handles (2 lengths) ...though I was pleased to see the pretty pastel colors this time. I will try again.

Just as I got home and was putting dinner in the oven, got the call to go pickup DH and helper... and I quickly finished the spice rub I was doing on the pork. Twisted each spice cap off and set aside on the counter... then when I was done I realized I'd uncapped all 4 spices and didn't know which ones were which to put them back on. The names are just on the cap, not the bottles. So, I did the best I could by smelling and guessing... but after I got home I switched some because I'd changed my mind....who knows if I got them right or not! I'm not Marth a Ste wart, after all.

helia, today as I was getting my hair cut, your dcousin came in for a haircut. He always seems so nice on his broadcast and he was really nice to the gal cutting his hair. After he left, she said he is her only client, male or female that wrote a personal note in her Christmas card. I was really impressed with how friendly and down to earth he was.

This morning dh and I went to the dr. 50 miles from here and he received his first allergy shots and enough for 10 weeks. Once we were home someone from that drs office called to tell us when his appointment for his scan and biopsy are. The scan is on his carotid artery and I am not sure what the biopsy is on. He has to go off his baby aspirin for a week so that appointment is the 26th. This makes me nervous but dh is not worried at all.

In the morning between 8 and 9, the S ears guy will be here to do a yearly checkup on our washer, dryer and refrigerator. The w/d is over 3 years old and this is the first time they have been checked. The refrigerator is 4 years and it will be the first also.

Guess I better do some things around here because today we have been in and out several times and I haven't done a lot when I have been home.

Well my schedule is not changing as much as I thought was it would the other granny is getting better so will do more than I thought I would be able to.

No pancakes for me they give me gas. My mom used to make pancakes shaped lile bunnies with raisen eyes at easter time.
dgd loved the mittens took em home with her today after I did a crochet. Chain to keep em together! The next pr are not big enough sigh. I cannot gst the guage right on a sweater for a knit a long (kal). Learning a new cast on today.
