My day got off to a good start. Getting those first 3 hours in seems to make the rest of the day flow smoothly.

I'm frustrated and a bit confused. Went to my second eye exam this year. They tested my eyes again and I came up with 20/25. They said I really didn't need glasses, but if I wanted them they would write me a prescription to get them. NO WAY! However, I don't understand though. They do the eye test with the chart 10 feet away. I don't have problem seeing that distance, it is 300' away on the highway that I have trouble seeing what the sign says. I have to wait until the sign gets close to the vehicle before I can read it…..as I'm doing 75 mph past it. It is frustrating! When I ask the eye technician about this, we always get sidetracked into discussing the scars from the multiple surgeries on my eyes. I have solved (mostly) the scar problem by only driving tall vehicles which puts me at an angle that limits the star effects from the oncoming lights. But not being able to read the signs until they get very close to the vehicle IS a problem that I don't have a solution for. They gave me eye drops and said to make sure my eyes stay moist. Maybe I am a hypochondriac because 20/25 eyesight without glasses should be plenty good.

DH took me to my eye appoint in case they dilated me. While I had DH in town, I took him to buy boots. His work boots are literally falling apart which is especially crazy because he frequent works in water so his feet stay wet. DH buys the same brand/style boot over and over so I asked him to buy 2 pair today so he will have a spare pair.

We did a Sam's list buying run. We had list for MPB, another lists for church and another list for home. By the time we finished all 3 lists, we had a flatbed cart and a regular shopping cart piled high. On the way home we went by the church and unloaded those supplies. DH just left to unload the MPB supplies (1000 lb of salt).

I have 4 minutes until time to do the school pickup run. So much for my break.

Did you see the llama on the news? Glad I am not the only one sick of middle E. focused stories and snowmgadon. There is snow all around us.

Loaded the stuff I bagges up to declutter in the car trunk.
ToddlerN is not coming her ma is ill.
Did some knitting.
Folded a load of laundry.
Napped a bit after lunch.
Rounded up bags not in use for projects.

Listening to the end if a movie 'arthur' on netflicks now that it is going again.

We are raining here. It's cool-ish and chilly. I was looking at some ice pictures of Tennessee, it was pretty bad with wires down all over.

We were out on the island. Freaky experience. First time I've gone over on the ferry in a vehicle. Other time, I walked on, sat on a bench on the barge, walked off and enjoyed the ride. This time I got dizzy really quickly. The sides are cyclone fence and there is no bouncing around, no waves, but all of a sudden it's moving - but because it's so still and smooth it gives one the sensation that all is moving around me and I'm sitting still. Just weird. Did the same thing coming back. I had to shut my eyes.

I've slogged through a bunch of work at my desk and got things semi-orderly again.

I think DH's bad day threw me into a tailspin. I haven't recovered and I'm so stressed. Of course DH doesn't understand as he doesn't have my temperament. Thank goodness we're both not like this. I've worked myself up into a big nasty headache and my body is aching and stiff too. I'm going to take something and go lay down and hope the world will turn nice by the time I get up.

LadyM, I have the same problems reading signs. That's how I know my eyes need a checkup. I would suspect they don't have your distance reading right. Or perhaps it has something to do with your scarring. Seems puzzling to me.

Sunny, do the boys know they're getting the trains yet?

I can't picture Lucylee with that much snow. Isn't this very unusual for you?

Home again with Moses - his paw is sore, but couldn't find anything seriously wrong with it. Going to try a round a Deramax and keep him off of it for a few days and see if he improves. Also needed annual shots and fecal, where they found a parasite, but not in great numbers, so he gets additional meds for that. Discussed Macs, he needs to get in for his bloodwork and annual exam and shots and they'll know to look for the parasite with him also. So I need to set up appt for him also.

Need to make a list for tomorrow - will be busy day.

I am exhausted & dh should be more so. Fell asleep in the recliner & when I got up all Icould say was OMG!!!! Water was up over my shoes. Something happened with the toilet and (clean) water must haveflowed for way over an hour dh emptied tub after tub from shop vac. I'm trying to dry lots that was in tote bags or boxes. Dd is in Orlando so will ask her soon if she has a hair dryer home so afraid some pages will stick together. Somewhat concerned about mold as carpet underlay is of course soaked too

I was away all day and am exhausted now. Would be happy to go to bed but it is only 6:19.

The service this morning (not mine) at the retirement home was fun. I like to get to sit with them instead of standing in front of them.

Then we had a quick lunch at IKEA and I dropped dh and the guitar off at home and headed off to run errands. Numbers 1 & 2 went fine. Walmart was successful but expensive (individual prices weren't bad, it was the accumulation!) I got several tops, a nightgown, jeans and capris. I had 2 coupons for $10 off if I bought $25 of Hasbro toys so I bought $52 of toys. We'll take 3 of the games with us to Africa to give to the children at the SOS Children's Village, along with stickers and hair clips for the little girls. The rest will stay here for when I have little ones visit.

I restocked our meds but decided to wait until Australia to pick up hand lotion, sunscreen and bug spray. Easier to buy there than to pack and carry with me.

I was so exhausted I had to stop mid-shopping and sit at the pharmacy waiting area to recover my strength. Then I bought a banana, a Nutella snack and club soda. Normally I would have picked up something at the McD's but have given up coke and candy (except chocolate) for Lent.

From there I went on to buy a new pair of walking shoes. That took an hour, but is done. It took a new pair of orthotics to get this brand to fit me but I didn't feel ripped off since I knew the brand he is selling is much better than the ones I already had. And it did take them to get the shoes to fit me properly.

I stopped in at the library on the way home and picked up the first of two books that are part of the book club on the ship. It is nice and short so I'll be able to read it on the way to the ship. There is another on its way to me from another branch.

When I got home I lay down for a few minutes but a neighbour came to visit so I got up. I still need to put proper walking shoes on. My feet and legs are exhausted from Walmart's hard floors.

Dh is cooking dinner now. I'm looking forward to it. After, I'll make up the dessert for tomorrow night. And the corn bread.

I had hoped to get home earlier and get more done around the apartment today but that won't happen. I still have to put away all the shopping as well.

Hello all! I don't think I was here earlier today. I had my standard Thursday: out all morning for moms group, home for 40 minutes, then out again for a little over 3 hours to payroll. I made dinner early, ate with dd16, and then drove her to the big orchestra concert - all the school orchestras in town are performing. I'm not going to the concert since I need to make a quiz for tomorrow, a moms group steer. comm. meeting agenda for tomorrow, and a devotional for tomorrow. I am also not going to book club tonight - just too many choices for tonight! LOL! Dd16 encouraged me not to go to her concert; they will be playing the same pieces at the judged festival this Saturday. I'll hear them then, plus the sightreading. . . .

First of all, I need to order bagels and coffee for tomorrow and finish cleaning up dinner. Then, I can get to work. . .I did just relax and watch an episode of a favorite TV show on Netflix.

I'm with Kathryn on being out of the house a lot. It was about 7 hours today, and one more trip to make to pick up dd16 - not so bad. I'm not so tired today. Tomorrow, I'll be out 8:30 - 12-ish and then again from 12:50-ish to likely close to 9 pm - so I really won't have any time at home tomorrow. No housework will occur. I'll run the moms group leaders meeting in the morning, teach my class in the afternoon, and then immediately go tutor my tutee A in the late afternoon. By the time I go meet dh (he's supposed to arrive home some time tomorrow - I don't know when, precisely) and some friends for dinner downtown at 6:15, I'll probably just want to sit silently and let others do the talking and being in charge. . .Also, I will need to get rid of some of the dog hair in the van by tomorrow evening because Saturday at 4:15 a.m. (yes, a.m.), I will be at S and R's home to help transport the students from S' student group that are going to Guyana for a spring break missions trip, including my ds, to the airport.
