I was up late this morning; was up several times during the night comforting Moses. At 4:30 I was up about an hour - rubbed him, talked to him, got him up to go out and potty, he had water and pain meds and it took a long time for me to settle back down. I was up at least two other times just rubbing him and talking to him as he whined about how bad he felt. Poor guy. Yesterday he had the large growth between two front toes removed, and an area of his shoulder shaved and a bone biopsy done. I told him he has "bling" i.e. staples showing on the shaved area. The paw is bandaged heavily but since it's wet outside has to be covered in a bag when he goes out, and he's wearing the "cone of shame" which makes it hard to get around and get comfortable by itself. I basically dropped everything after I got him home last night and sat with him or next to him.
Today's PODA, off the top of my head:
-grocery
-cleaners
-temple to sign checks
-mammogram appt near temple at 2 p.m.
-what other errands?
---I might see if I can p/u meals for mother late this afternoon to save myself a trip tomorrow in predicted not so good weather
For right now:
-breakfast
-s2s
-clean up kitchen counters
-meds/vitamins, me + ddogs
-walk Macs

Twins' Mom, that's ideal time spent.
Yes, Nebraska, Dee. It is the city of Snyder, near the Iowa border. There is a big manufacturing company there that is famous for building fire engines and other apparatus to the custom needs of communities. Ds is going armed with all the "specs" his dept will require - hundreds of little decisions all over and around the very complicated vehicles. I'm sure Mr. DeeClutter can imagine.
His committee of six had spent many meetings, over months, deciding what was needed, so ds is also carrying all their questions and reminders. They are buying two engines at approx half a million each, which is surely sticker shock to anyone who's been in town meetings in the past, hearing about equipment costs. Ds is the training officer, so the committee decided he goes on this trip in which he'll explain needs and consider last-minute advice, and equipment expert will go on the future trip to inspect the completed engines.
I am working from front door on, thinking of dcousin and just wanting to provide calm spaces in our living areas after her trip. Her dh wants a hotel room for the evening, very understandable since, although he gets along with cousins-in-law like HRH and other men fine, he really wants to relax by himself some. I know that dcousin is worried about other family members who are struggling with clutter - she speaks of it often and I recognize that she has genuine loving concern. We've talked about a family tendency toward sidetracking, toward collecting and getting paralyzed.
So, I do want to reassure her that I'm not going completely down the clutter tubes myself. As you can imagine (and she probably can, too) this results in at least some stash-and-dash. I am comfortable with my balance!

Wow for you, Harriet. Yes dh CAN imagine. DS-A, now deputy chief, understands fully as well.
WOW for me!!
I've just made 3 DPC's -one to change appointment with eye surgeon, one to change appointment with my Dr. and one to change the date of our mail forwarding. DONE, FINE'. 3 things off my (growing) list.
Back to work on the closet and bookcase. Also need to go to the garage to see if I can possibly find the lids to some plastic bins.

Re: Wowing ourselves on Wednesday
I'm in a waiting period. Dh is on his last conference call of the day. Then we decide if he is going to lunch with or without me (and I'll have lunch elsewhere.)
I have to pick up my sari blouse and then have a meeting in one direction. In between those two errands is a bank I need to go into to close an account and I'm pretty sure I need dh with me for that (he's named on the account.) So we may be making multiple trips out today. The driving is fine so it is just that I hate taking the car out unnecessarily (we can walk for bagels), plus parking at the bagel shop is iffy.
Dh desperately needs dress shoes as well but I doubt that will happen today.

We are hoping that our wow for the day will be 2 bedrooms carpeted by evening. They called at 9:30 and said he was running late but should be here by 10:30.

Re: Wowing ourselves on Wednesday
Good morning all! I got my taxes done and did not have the rude awakening I feared. In fact, I am getting 2k back. Of course, that means I really gave the government an interest free loan. It was very hard to plan withholding in an uncertain year, so I will not feel bad about it. Taxes for 2015 should be more straightforward now that I have a steady income. Getting the paperwork done for the taxes forced me to get my filing caught up too! Tax appointment made me late for picking up DD13, but I had already told her what was going on. We still had our Chinese take out, then called my Dad. It seems that he will not be able to have his usual birthday celebration of attending a Styx concert with my brother and his fiancee. They are not in his area. Because they are in our area! We invited him (and mom, and brother, and fiancee), and he just might do it! Other stuff accomplished: LOLs done and mostly put away, sheets and mattress cover on bed changed, downloaded bank statement. I did not do any Bible study, but I got most of it done on the train this morning. I will be able to finish it on the evening commute.
Here are the home things I want to get done today:
LadyMaverick: I would suggest not buying a car to cover a few months time period. The pain in the tailbone would be horrific with the buying and selling arrangements. There is also a large potential for losing a lot of money. Would it be possible to rent for a few months?
Kathryn: Brilliant idea for the defective binoculars!
helia: Sedona is a marvelous place! For the absolute best view, eat at the airport restaurant. Be sure to get reservations. I know it sounds strange to be recommending eating at the airport, but the food was good, and even at 4:00 when we went, we got the last table. The hotel nearest the airport allows dogs. The limitations are that you can only bring two, and they must be smaller than 70 pounds. I understand the view there is good too, but I have never been there.
Here are the home things I want to get done today:
- File reimbursement paperwork
Write letter to friend
Write letter and print pictures for aunt
DR cleanup (my DR is really part of my kitchen, I still have the Christmas table cloth!)
Balance checkbook
- Child support paperwork
Check on an investment account
Type minutes for animal org (annual meeting and special meeting)
Email mom some pictures
Order tickets for Midsummer Night's Dream

Re: Wowing ourselves on Wednesday
Got covers from the garage ( a couple anyway), have been putting our photo albums and boxes on the closet shelf. Hope to have that bookcase cleared off by the time dd gets home today. May not move it yet, but at least it will be cleared.!!
Have 2 empty bins/w covers that I can store some things in. Think I have some "too small"" things in my dresser that can go in there for now -if they don't fit by fall when we come back they can go to charity. I have way too many of those.
12:15 -Taking a break to rest my back. Slowly moving photo things to closet. Now I'm motivated to get this bookcase emptied. DD wanted to build shelves in the closet in the 'craft' room -dsonil said no. Hmmmm, wonder if this unit will fit in there............have to measure & see.
