Our server was down for a while seems ok now yea. I need to rememver to take it easy still fighting the cold. The three Ds are a perfect place to begin.
Got the compost pile moved filled on low spots in the back yard so I can see progress now! Happy we found a farm for the chickens that need to move out of the city.

Have fun planting your flowers, RRose. We got the mulch spread all across the front. It looks very nice.

Well I have so much more to do outside. Going to go work on another spot now. What I put in across the front is Japanese Boxwood. I have a couple of those around the side and they've thrived.

Nancy, do your colds seem to last longer since your diabetes diagnosis? Anytime I have a cold it really hits hard and the 3 D's are all I can count on accomplishing. Take care of yourself and rest as much as you can.

Harmony, we have boxwoods but I don't know what kind. I need to get more mulch on them.

Harmony, I tend to fall apart at the beginning of whatever the situation is. Then I can pull up those big girl panties and do what I have to. My dm is the opposite. She is strong all through whatever the situation is. When it is over, she completely falls apart. 39 years ago db2 was a passenger in a car with 5 occupants. They hit a train. 1 friend was killed. Our dad's then girlfriend/ now wife's 15 year old daughter was paralyzed and is a quadraplegic.
The other 3 were severely injured. Db2 was 17 at the time. He had severe head injuries and a back injury. He was in the hospital over a week. This happened an hour east of our hometown. My dm lived 30 minutes west of us. She had just started dating dstepdad and he brought her to our house and we took her to the hospital. Dd2 was 2 1/2 weeks old. That was the first time we had met dstepdad. He was only child and his late wife was an only child. They had 2 sons. He had never been around a baby girl and I have always thought it was love at first sight. The 2 of them had a bond that was beautiful to see. Well anyway, the day dm brought db2 home from the hospital, they came to our house. They both wanted to see the baby. My dm walked in and then just collapsed in my arms, with the most heart breaking sobs. I don't know which is the worst, before or after. I just know that I always do what has to be done, because I have loved ones that count on me.

I have a list going in my head of what needs done. Getting our taxes done and getting a cardiologist appt are at the top of the list. Also dh will need pj tops that button instead of being pulled over the head. He has 6 or 7 pairs of bottoms and if he wears them, he just uses a t-shirt for the top. His is not a pj person but will have to be while in the hospital. So I will get him some 2 piece, button down sets and a thin robe.

Dh always dresses before he leaves our bedroom. He either puts on what he wore yesterday until he showers or he showers and dresses before he leaves our room. Even though the girls are grown, he still does this. He is one of those people that always looks neat no matter what kind of clothes he has on.

Dd2 has always laughed about a guy"s dad she dated. They would go to his house and his dad would be watching TV in a white t shirt and his tighty-whities. Dd2 says my ddad never did that, so it was always a shock and the guy wasn't embarrassed at all.

I just talked to dsisil older, she said she will be there for the surgery. She said dsisil younger is upset that she won't be able to go. I told her we will go see dsisil2 either before the surgery or on the way home. I had thought about going through there on our way home, but dh has came down with a cold. She is on weekly chemo and can't be around him with a cold.

Yikes, the day is getting away, must get busy....................

I got the chicken chores done.
Had a phumoinia shot after getting my diab. Rx this cold does not seem any worse than before but I rarely got ill with flu or colds before.

We are going to have rain today here happy to stay home n side puttering taking it wasy with the 3 Ds. I have a plan for dinner.
Dishes next x. I cleaned off some of the counter so H was able to fix his own omlette.

Then Later - Round up laundry get it to the laundry zone this afternoon. X

helia, I don't know if colds or illnesses are worse with diabetes for everybody, but I know any cold I have gotten in the last 6 years has seemed to hang on longer than it should. I sure wish there was a quick fix for the common cold, because they can show up at the worst possible time, special occasions, trips, company, holidays, etc.

Dh's back is causing him problems since we moved that furniture. He plans to go to the chiropractor on Monday. We took the car, because it's/was clean inside and out. It was harder getting in and out of that, than the SUV.

I keep watching for FelineFriend to check in. I pray everything is alright with them.

I tried to find this site on my phone while waiting. I was using www. instead of bb., so I hope that is the problem. I hate to be cut off from everyone for more than a few days.

helia, was dd16s package being sent through the USPS? If so, that explains a lot. As I ranted the other day, service is getting sloppy.

I finished my planting. Mine are mostly containers. I have planted my new sunflowers but they too are in a pot. I need to work on their bedding which means I need to come up with a watering system...think I've already got on...work on the soil and then transplant the seedlings.

I now need a shower and do something with my nails. It was deadly hot outside today and I'm glad I started early. I am NOT ready for this heat Right now a nap sounds good...if only I could sleep when I lay down in the middle of the day.

Helia, how do you ever move a 100 lb. sack? Yikes!

Lilac, I echo Harriet at least about the flooring company. Google that and epa California, that should find the problem pretty quickly.

Here we've had lots of problems with Chin ese Dry wall. Dry wall made in China a few years back which turns toxic as it off-gasses and ruins plumbing, wiring, air conditioning coils. It's a real mess.

Harriet, hope the headache goes away.

I finished the front, the bigger area at the indent of the house as it makes the turn to the side... pulled that landscaping cloth out and moved a bush and got mulch there. I cleaned out the middle-of-the-yard island where my 3 palm trees are. Sunny gave me about 7 years ago a bucket of amaryllis bulbs. I couldn't understand how she could give so many up. Ha, now I know. They multiply like rabbits. We've thinned them out a couple times and need done again. They've recently bloomed and are just beautiful when that whole area is filled with orange. But, today I weeded and cut all the dead spent stalks and raked the ones that have dried and fallen off. Had a huge huge pile of stuff to pick up. That was a lot of work.

S2S again. I smelled like fresh mulch. Swept out the car and the garage. I'm pretty much done for the day. DH is still out pulling weeds in the yard.

DH's favorite clothes are his work shorts and white tshirts. Dress up is a polo shirt and jeans. 3rd favorite outfit is... nothing. No modesty at all. He does not do this when there's anyone around!
