And another round...

-clear longer back counter in the kitchen, wipe down and put things back together
-load up anything that can go in the dishwasher
-start on clearing the front of set of kitchen counters

For those on Facebook, a guest last night posted some photos - you can see in the outside photos what a fabulous view we have. The firepit is in the background of a couple of the photos.

Will probably need to leave in the not-so-distant future to go with dh.

Thanks, Twins' Mom. This is not my favorite annual task.
You made the better choice by napping with your sweet pup. WTG on the tidying too.

Hi everyone!

I did a lot on Friday morning. Very little needs to be done or actually gets done on the weekends.

This weekend was, of course, the most vastly different one we have ever had. We weren't even home yesterday morning and ate very little while we were here. Out for breakfast and dinner.

Today we went for a very nice drive through the Niagara region looking at a few houses from the outside to get even more of an idea of what we both want. We plan on moving in the early fall.

No swimming, no teatime, no writing and no show but the rest of the list was done. Although the manicure is looking shabby already (sigh....) Haven't looked at the pedicure. Dressing for dinner took 2.5 hours because of the shower and manicure.

Sari went over well. Our room stewardess is Indian (we thought she was Indonesian so were surprised) and she was thrilled I'd choose to wear her country's clothing and that I tied it myself.

Dinner was interesting although one long story by one of the table mates. Seriously, it took over an hour for him to tell the saga but it was interesting so we didn't care!

The time goes back another hour tonight so I won't lose as much sleep as I could. I still have to do a round of physio and ice my knee once more.

We have to be in the lounge at 7:30 tomorrow morning. So I won't have time to ice before we head out. Breakfast has been moved back to 6:30 (from 7:30) so at least we'll get a full breakfast.

BTW: no place to buy poles until Capetown where I won't need them. I should have bought them in Perth, the nordic poles are useless for hiking. Could have got them in Mauritius or Reunion but was on tour so no time.

(This had to wait until the morning to be posted due to internet on board.)

We will leave in the morning by 8 to go to the town where dsisil younger lived. We will meet dsisil older and her dh there. She made our reservations because she wanted us to be at the same hotel and have rooms as close together as possible. Dd1 and her dd18 made their reservations there also. The visitation is tomorrow from 4- 8. The graveside service will be at noon on Tuesday. After that we are having a meal at the church.

Dd2 and the kids got home yesterday about 6 from their Denver trip. We went over there at 8:30 for dgs11s birthday party. Dd2 is taking all 5 kids with her,for the funeral. Her dh is still dealing with calving. Dd1s head about spun off when she heard they were all going. Dd2 told her that her 3 back-up people, me, dd1 and dgd18 would all be going and she couldn't leave him with 4 kids. So dd1 is doing her usual act that she has when we are around extended family for anything. She is so jealous of dd2 and I guess she thinks all the kids take the attention away from her and her dd18. It is just ridiculous and drives dh and I crazy. DD1 does this every single time.

I don't know where dd2 ended up getting hotel rooms. Our first choice was full. She was interested in the expensive one with a water park.

Right now my priorities are dh and his dsis. She is having a really hard time with this and I want to be there for her. This is the first day that we haven't been on the phone multiple times.

I am having to stay up because my bs was low enough that I have had to snack.

I have our clothes, ironed and hanging up in the back of the SUV. The other things are packed. All that needs to be packed is dh's toiletries and cpap machine. Plus I need to pack my hair and makeup items, as I use them.

I have finally gotten my basement put back together. I needed to keep busy. Part of dh's closet items are still in a corner in the living room. He needs to sand the door frames to the closetsso he can paint them white. He will put new trim around the doors, windows and floor, after the bi-fold doors come and he gets them installed.

Dh has really been babying his back. He plans to go to the chiropractor later this week, to make sure it's still in place.

My dm, db1 and dsisil are coming to the funeral. The twin brothers that are, our longtime hometown friends are planning to come also.

Guess I better get off of here and check my bs. It never fails, that it will be low when I need to get to bed.

Thinking of you as you hike and tour about today Kathryn.

Little sleep last night, but some good dozing I think.
It was hard for me to get going today.
home helper came.
I dropped a bottle of sorboline sp? which cracked and went everywhere when prepping for her cleaning, so extra to do for both of us. 2 loads of washing today.
clean sheets. Organised a filing box, just nothing is filed yet.

(((Lilac))) prayers for you and your family.
May dG*d prepare the way for ddil's funeral day, that all people may be respectful .... , and younger children are able to cope with the day also.
