Re: TENDER TUESDAY
Good morning all! It's nice to see you here again, MT. You sure have had a lot going on.
I'm having a slow-ish morning. Haven't really played on the computer until now, though.
Done:
- QT
- dog care
- s2s
- reclaimed kitchen
- lots of emails, mostly church-related - most of those moms group related
- gathered laundry and started a load of darks
- wrapped small gift to send with dh for ds; they have lunch/coffee every Tuesday
- gathered other items for ds that he has left here/that have come in the mail for him
- made a small list for Walgreens shopping
- found address to send sympathy card
- found address to send check for dd19's summer missions trip to Guatemala - with E and C's church in Austin! We were surprised they accepted her long-distance application.
- lunch
Next:
- prep card for mail
- prep check for mail
- errands: return volunteer literacy books; Walgreens; post office box
Later:
- keep laundry going
- meeting with supervisor around 3 pm
- jog afterward (it is cold but above freeing)
- supper early so dd16 can get to her band festival on time
- say good bye to dh who is off on an overnight work trip - to DC?? (not sure where)
- go to watch dd16's band; they are the last band playing and I fully intend to show up not much before their performance
- prep for class tomorrow??
Oh, crud - the director of the school just called and wants me to take 2 classes, 16 classroom hours/week. Dh will adamantly be against that. . .. I told him I'd call him back. Not sure what I should do?

Re: TENDER TUESDAY
Good luck making that decision, Helia!
Really nice having MT with us today!
So sorry to read Twins news about Moses. Poor guy.
(Dee) hoping for DH to have safe safe trip.
We went back to the SS office today for scheduled appointment. This is the 3rd time we've been up there. Bad information given the first 2 times. Gal in the back, gave us proper information, said those up front are only techs and really should not be giving anybody information. So just what are their jobs? And why are they the people we are sent to when we have questions? Anyway, because I had done a ton of research, hours and hours of reading things, I knew what to ask. She had not suggested what I did. When she looked it up and printed off the information, she said yes that works. That's very very good for us, but we must go back one more time in a couple months. I am a happy camper today. My recommendation to anybody nearing retirement age is to NOT register online, but to do some research and then go to someone at some office who actually knows how to do the filing.
I need to get busy around here. Need to go to supply house later for DH when he figures out what he needs... and I need to pick up blueprints... and I need to drop off donations at GW. I've paid bills this morning before our appointment. I have a bank statement there to reconcile too.

Re: TENDER TUESDAY
Hello Dear Ladies,
Another sunny warm day here.
So good to hear from Emptynester!
DH and the two sons that work with him have gone out on a service call. So it is dbrother and me here at home, along with dogs and the cat.
Dbrother's clothes are in the dryer and I'll get them in just a bit and help him hang them in the closet.
One dson cooked last night and I need to clean the kitchen from that. The dishwasher is running and there are pots and pans to do by hand, counters to clean.... in other words clean the kitchen. Won't complain about the mess, because at least he cooked.
Still have a couple of forms to fill out for dson-N's taxes. Oldest dson-D always waits to the very last minute to get his info to me so will have that to do sometime.
Dsisinlaw from NY text to me that she will call sometime today. We usually chat at least once a week.
And I want to read some today too.
So that's the adventures for me.

Re: TENDER TUESDAY
Good morning. (Ha ha. It is 1:00 pm here.)
I awoke to a sinus headache which has NOT gone away yet, after Tylenol and diet coke and breakfast.
DH blames the pollen. I know that is part of it, but I figure 3 hours packing dishes didn't do me any good either.
Does anyone here get F lylady emails? Does anyone know if she links to our site in any way? Kathryn-- Do you have any knowledge of this? (See MO for more info on this question.) If you search "forums" on F lylady's site, she mentions someone who manages the Flylady Forums and "SHE forums" -- what is she talking about? I can't find any other reference to anything like that, except that Flylady chose her name when she registered w/she's in touch. There is a Flylady Chat page, so what is she talking about with forums?
Today's PODA...
Try to do as well as I did yesterday? (Followed my "plan" almost perfectly.)
Main thing I must do is get s2s and go to the local jewelry store to get dgs' painted Easter egg.
Already called grocery store for more boxes, but they have none today. I asked them to save some on Thursday for me.
Hoping Mr. Dee has a safe, pleasant trip north. * Hope he feels better soon, too!
Sooo good to hear from MT!!! I've missed you!!! Sorry you've been under the weather, too! Hope you are back to 100% health soon!
That was nice of your ds to cook, Sadie. Your boys sound so sweet.
Sorry you're having computer problems, Rose. BTDT!
(((Harmony))) re: SS woes. When do you sign up for Medicare? DH will be 65 next year. Is that the time? Ugh. I do dread it. Seems like it was always so confusing when I was dealing w/dinlaws' rx's.
(((helia))) I don't envy you the decision-making process re: additional classes.
(((Sunny))) and (((Lilac))) -- remembering you and your families during these difficult days.
Waving to Harriet, Twins, and of course, The Most Important Person!

Re: TENDER TUESDAY
Lucylee, your DH should sign up for Medicare 3 months before he turns 65. I was 65 the end of last Aug - they don't care about the date, just the month. So 3 months before Aug was May, I signed up that first week of May. For social security retirement benefits, you can't sign up before 3 months before you want to collect, 62 for early retirement (reduced) or up to whatever full retirement age is for you guys. Our full retirement age is 66. I must go back in May or June to apply for mine. She said June was early enough. I did our medicares online. It wasn't very hard at all, and worked very nicely. I wouldn't do social security retirement online because there's too many ways to do it and we had too many questions but some people do.
Oh, for the Medicare, I had to arrange for a drug program and supplemental insurance to start Aug 1st also. It's a lot to get straightened out. I had an insurance agent we'd been using help me with all that...and I knew what I wanted anyway...and he actually gave me the link to apply for Medicare.

Re: TENDER TUESDAY
Okay -- I need to put that in my card file. DH will need to sign up for Medicare next May (2016).
Oh crud... that reminds me I've got to fill out some more online stuff for our insurance this year also.
DH started drawing his SS @ 62, so that is taken care of.

Re: TENDER TUESDAY
I did a store run, decided I did not have enough umph to do knitting meeting as well. I am focusing on getting things back on track around here with chore cards got up at five ran out of steam mid morning. Wrote mom a letter. Got one other one mailed today. It has been rainy and winds have started in now.
