I was very stiff and sore from all this week's work. The house got cold and I got up to put something warm on and put the blanket back on the bed.

Church this morning. Then I stopped at grocery store with my list. Finally I've been keeping a list. I have a todo pad with magnet on the side of the refrigerator. It reminded me of several things I would have forgotten. Dropped my books at the library drop-off on the way.

I am inclined to get busy with something...but forcing myself to take a rest. I haven't had much down time all week.

Watched This is Where I Leave You while having dinner. The pizza here isn't too bad but I couldn't eat it all because I'm not really hungry.

Tomorrow we have to be ready to leave by 8:30 so heading off to bed now.

I have the bag of toys and school supplies for the SOS Children's Village ready. Not sure what to wear tomorrow because I'm not sure what work we'll be doing there. I guess I'll wear the same outfit as today.

I dug out some plants to prep an area for planting toms. Carrots and sunflowes, in the side yard. Hens will work it im a bit. I have decorative dwarf red sun flowers for another area in the front. A couple of cages to keep the chickems out of a couple areas. I watered and put fresh sand for grit in the coop and ru. And I found oyster shell at the store so put some of that out for them too. I am gradually reducing their time out of of be run so the lawn can recover.

Forgot the book I wanted to stop at Joann's for. It had a pattern in it so I hope that I can find that pattern on the net.

Bday dinner went well that was a relief. I got a few things at the store and picked up my pills.

Yay, I took my usual nap following the big weekend visit, and I had no pain in my throat at all when I awakened. I'm thinking that if I didn't have pain while truly "zonked out" for hours horizontally, my throat is really no longer reacting. Still don't feel 100 percent but am greatly encouraged that I didn't "catch" anything, just "got into" something. Whether a blooming something or a dusty something I'm not sure - blooming probably, since we have a headline about that.

HRH took the call from dd35's family that they had arrived safely home.

He took me out for veggie Egg Fu Yung (sp) this evening while dd studied for mid-terms, and he had Singapore noodles or something - something made with thin rice noodles and veggies only, to stick with his eating plan.

We came back and I looked at ... ... the kitchen. (Cue The March To the Gallows, slowly.) Trying to decide if I feel virtuous enough to tackle that tonight. Maybe I'll set a 10 minute timer, and see how inspired I am after 10 minutes at it.

Oh crud... just lost post... and I am just wiped out...
LONG day -- but ended pleasantly, went to church some distance away to hear ds and group sing. Very nice.
But lots of stressful stuff hovering around our weekend and I'm trying to keep from "spinning"!

Lilac, my dmom has a treadmill but very seldom uses it. I wonder if she would see improvement w/her back issues if she would be more consistent with it.

But who am I to suggest anything resembling consistency??? Good grief. My "walk away the pounds" log is just ridiculous, for last month and this month. Probably Jan. as well. Between dmom and ds/ddil/dgs/their house, life is just crazy around here. I have simply got to find some time to devote to ME.
* sigh * I know y'all think, What IS she talking about??? She sleeps all morning and does nothing all afternoon... her whole day is devoted to her...


OH -- I almost forgot -- I do have a very good question for y'all --
What do you do about outdoor patio furniture cushions? I mean -- I brought home a very nice metal chaise lounge from dmil's, with a very nice cushion, which is water resistant, but not waterproof. Right now, I am in the situation of having to put the cushion in the carport when it rains, which is often this time of year, and then it falls right into the path of the car... and it's just a lot of trouble.
Do y'all recommend any of those R ubbermaid type boxes, or vinyl covers for patio furniture, or WHAT? The situation right now is very annoying.

Hello, villagers ~
This is the end of a successful friends & family day for me.

This morning I met 5 friends/acquaintances for coffee to remember the eccentric friend who connected us all. We spent a couple of hours chatting and reminiscing.

DH sent a text to an old friend last night asking if he and his SO wanted to meet us at the movies. We don't live that many miles apart, but for 1 reason or another we haven't been able to get together since last summer. The friend finally replied just before noon saying that yes, they wanted to see that movie, could we make it to the 12:50 show? It was a scramble, but we made it. Saw the movie and then went out together to a new-to-us restaurant.

The movie was The Imitation Game with Benedict Cumberbatch. It was a good show. However, I was disappointed when I got back home and read the Wikipedia page about how many of the events in the movie were either exaggerated or outright fiction for dramatic effect. Oh well, I'll just convert the whole thing in my head to an interesting story like Saving Private Ryan.

I'm working on clearing time on my dvr, so this evening I watched 2 old episodes of Castle. I pinned fabric pieces together while watching the shows, so next time I sit down to watch tv I can sew what is pinned.

Tomorrow I must spend some long blocks of time on desk work.
