Errand day accomplished. I dropped off do donations when I picked up some to go food for dinner. Did W-mart run got a rose 50% off some purple yarn and chicken crumble. Found some tri colored sage. So after the heat of the day passes maybe dgd will help me plant these.
I did pop in to the knitting class a good a turnout.
ToddlerN will be here in a bit she is better and dgd soon after is coming as well.
I have spaded up an area for the new rose and plantings.

Things are looking much better here at home.
Thanks for reminding me to check the microwave, Harriet. I'd forgotten that DH mentioned he'd had a "soup explosion". Now it is nice and clean....even the "ceiling" where, hopefully, no one looks but me.
I even had time to give my hair its keratin treatment.

[ ] exercise
[x] s2s, color hair
[x] go buy cookie mix (dcousin called last night and asked me to make cookies for her son's graduation party)
[ ] nursing home tonight
So, making progress, I guess. Considered it a major Hooray that I got out of Wmart w/out having to talk to anyone. Can we say ANTI-SOCIAL???
I was just in a mood, I guess, b/c usually I talk waaay too much for dh's taste.
I decided to exercise later tonight; didn't want to put off the s2s any longer.

Asked to go to a movie tonight since dh doesn't have a conference call (a rare occurrence.)
We are rushing to get dinner cooked and eaten since the movie starts at 6:40. It is the cheap theatre and it is Tuesday so I think movies are $3 each. We off to see Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.
Fish and chips for dinner. I've done my food diary for the day and am allowed 9 chips. Will load up on salad for the rest of the meal. Fish is faux-fried in the oven so is low in calories.

Here's a tip for everyone to use with their microwave: go to a store and buy a small and a large microwave dish cover. They are flat dome shaped plastic covers with vent holes. I bought them and they sit on the counter next to the microwave area, we put them on all things going into the micro...just like magic no more
POP! explosions and food all over the inside. A quick rinse once in a while in the sink and the covers stay pretty clean and so does the microwave. Saves me a ton of time. Once in a while I wipe out the micro but it's usually just from steam...never anything stuck.
Errand day here too. After a couple hours of work here I ran out and did my 10 stops. Yes, 10. 7 went ok. 1 was the shoe repair place where instead of sewing a 1" stitch seam since last Thurs, he went to the dentist today and they weren't ready ... and this place is at the other end of the county. I was not happy.

Groceries were ok until I got the clerk who put cans on top of cookies etc. etc. and didn't advance the conveyer so I had to move everything up myself twice, grrrr. 3rd bad one was place with no customer service - bring in big machine and we'll fix when I wanted them to look at a chart or something and sell me a part DH could pop in...more grrrr.
Then I got home to very distressing phone call and have spent hours and hours trying to get everything "into compliance" and DH in a worry about said problem, planning on whole day of work tomorrow to do his part... mucho problems around here... and I haven't eaten dinner or finished the stacks of "compliance" paperwork on my desk...
I guess I better get back to it if I want to get any sleep tonight. DH is out at lumber place where he couldn't raise anyone on the phone first. Sigh...it's been a day alright.

Harmony - Did you get the pc fixed? I suspect the CMOS battery needs to be resetted or replaced. It is a fairly easy thing to replace the battery. The pc BIOS defaults have to be reset afterwards, but that takes just a couple minutes. There are youtube videos showing how to do it.
Nothing on the calendar for today! WhoooHOO!!!!
Just normal stuff -
LO to school (last Tuesday!)
DGD3 care
DH to MPB
Found bill and wrote check for water bill. Today (the 19th) is the last day to pay without penalty.
My desk is so far behind that I am paralyzed.
DD picked DGD3 up. She has been with us 5 days/nights. I think DD is bringing DGD3 back tomorrow.
This morning I worked outside to try and get the outside routine tasks done before the next round of rain arrived. I mowed the high parts of the yard (other parts are still too wet). Then I did weekly pool maintenance - brush sides and bottom, vacuum sides and bottom, backwash, rinse and added DE to the filter. I also did tested chemicals and they look good after shocking it last night. The rain started down pouring just as I was finishing up.
We are definitely experiencing drought breaking weather. I wish I had kept better records but know it is around 12" of rain in the last 2 weeks. I dumped out 2.3" from the rain gauge today. It is a bit weird to see everything so green. A GOOD weird though!

LadyM, my one stop today to lack-of-customer-service place was to get another battery. They're those round things that look like remote gar door opener batteries but I wanted them to tell me what battery to buy. Well, they wouldn't look it up anywhere, want me to bring in the whole durn heavy tower cpu. Nope. And running search after search for what one to buy I just come up with page after multiple page of why D ell is a bad company because of all the defective batteries back in 2003 etc. and haven't been able to pin down what exact battery to buy! I don't want to shut everything down to open it up and look at it - what if it's out of stock everywhere?
And the Bios thing has me a little freaked too...how complicated is that?
I think it might just have gotten jiggled out of place moving it to the computer lady's house and back... but as long as I'm going to fuss with the battery I'd just as soon put in a new one.
Well that's the long story. I'll probably have nightmares about the rude clerk today...

Enjoyed the movie greatly.
Had a strange experience with the gentleman beside me leaning over and saying, "I guess that ends the church service" as the pre-show ended. Turns out he was referring to the music (which had organ and choral but was probably Carl Orff) I was completely confused, though, trying to place him from any of the churches I've preached at. We ended up talking about the upcoming movies as the trailers came on.
We are home now. I have a day out with dd tomorrow. She needs a ride to buy an air conditioner. I have returns to do so we'll make a day of it.

Hello, villagers ~
We received a phone call from one of DH's DSisters letting us know that DMIL is in the hospital and will have surgery tomorrow morning for a broken leg.
DH will be swearing in frustration the rest of the night and maybe the rest of the week.
I love all of his family dearly, but his mother is a stubborn,
stubborn woman! DSisIL said that DMIL fell in her bathroom sometime last night, but they don't know exactly when because

she wasn't wearing her medical alert button because
she said she was hot and it was sticking to her skin so she took it off.
There is an emergency pull cord in the bathroom to summon help, but she didn't pull it.

Apparently she managed to crawl to the bedroom and could reach the phone, but she didn't call anyone all night. DSisIL called her this morning to ask if she needed any groceries, and that's when DMIL admitted that she had fallen and was still on the floor.
DSisIL told us not to bother driving up tonight because DMIL is sedated and should be sleeping. They'll call us with an update tomorrow.
She still needs to be moved out of her apartment by the end of the month. Her house was not going to be ready until July, but before the contractor had even started remodeling her house,
Stubborn Woman gave notice to the apartment manager that she would be moved out by May 31st. Luckily contractor was able to adjust his schedule of jobs to do hers right away.
DH and I had already planned to go up this weekend to pack and move her sewing machines, breakables, and whatever else we could fit in our car. I was going to get her sewing room all set up for her. Now DSisIL is saying not to worry about arranging the room because we don't know if DMIL will be able to move back to the house after all, she will have to go to a nursing home/rehab facility for some time and see how well she recovers. If we can just empty the apartment and haul everything back to the house, they will decide the rest later.
In the meantime, at staff meeting this afternoon the boss told me that she wants me to definitely add Tuesday mornings to my schedule for the summer. She has hired a high school boy to pick up some of the extra hours necessary to help us survive the summer rush. We all know him and like him, he's a really smart kid, so the main question will be whether or not he will like the job enough to stick with it all summer.

((Harmony)) Sorry your day was so stressful. Thank you for the tip about microwave dish covers. I will definitely buy a couple of them.
((BookSaver)) Sorry for extended family trouble.
Hope everyone has a peaceful night.
