Did a full round of physio (sometimes I skip the 'old' exercises from my previous PT and just do the new ones even though the new PT told me to keep up with all of them.) I'm dressed and working on the balcony, cleaning.
Had to come in to take a phone call. I have my heart stress test booked for 3 weeks from now. Glad it is so quick, another item off my to-do list before my 55th birthday. This is not the treadmill test, my doc wouldn't allow that because of my knees. I have to fast for this one and he said they'd electrically stimulate my heart. Not really looking forward to this.
OK, back to the balcony cleaning.
BTW: one of the plants died in the frost the other night. Dh didn't think we'd get frost this high up and maybe we didn't but the cold did the plant in. My spider plants are pretty sad looking too with lots of black on the leaves. I know better than to put anything out until after June 1 if I think it might die in cold weather. But once I had put things out, I didn't want to bring them in because of bugs. We have way more bugs on the balcony this year and I'm not sure if it is the plants or if they are a seasonal bug and we weren't here at this time last year. I'll find out in a few weeks.

Coming back through. I need to head out soon for a couple of errands.
I probably should have lunch first, boiled egg and fruit for breakfast didn't hold me very long!
-lunch
-get rid of 10 pieces of paper off my desk
-get rid of or put away 10 items on kitchen table (still piled up from both trips)
-sweep front porch and get out red pillows for summer
-in back yard, straighten up chairs at firepit
Then will head out...

I'm trying to keep busy by listing just one item at a time and completing that task. Getting a little bit done this way. Have to head out again in 2 1/2 hours. Waiting (as you all know) is agonizing.

I know you have cards for LO to do in the mornings. Please remind me again how they are set up. Is each card a chore and attached to a ring for LO to flip.Â
I suspect I have tried all the methods but keep coming back to the box with monthly/daily dividers and 3x5" cards for LO to use.
Before he could read, we used picture to show him what to do. I took picture of him doing the various tasks (brush teeth, get dressed, etc) and cut the photo to 3"x5". All of LO cards are in
plastic sleeves because they get handled by little fingers that make them yucky in a very short time. I can quickly wipe the plastic sleeve and keep using the same card.
At the recommendation of LO therapist/counselor to have a plan/schedule to help with ADHD, we are adding in the hour time frames with the cards assigned an hourly time they are to be done. I am using this
pocket chart
to hold the cards assigned to each time slot. We are using the first column in the pocket chart for the hour (starting at 8:00am and going to 9:00pm). The second column is for DGD3 cards. The 3rd column is for LO's cards.
When the hour arrives we pull the cards they are to do out of that slot and put them on a table that is underneath the hanging pocket chart. The cards they are to do that hour are laid out for them to choose and pick which card they want to do first. Each time frame has at least one *fun* thing to do that they are looking forward to. After each card is completed then they move the card from the table top to the top of the 3x5" box that holds the dividers. I file the cards because they don't have that capability yet.
If I was reading this card schedule system and wasn't living this lifestyle;, then I would think it sounds WAY restrictive and controlling. However, the opposite is true. LO blossoms doing it. His anxiety disappears. He relaxes when he knows what he is going to do.
I like the system because I'm not being constantly bombarded with a thousand questions….when can we go swimming? I want something to eat (there are 3 meals and 3 snacks in the schedule). Also I am not constantly having to tel them what to do. I simple ask - are your cards done? It puts the responsibility on them to get things done.
There is always time in each hour to do unscheduled things. I am a firm believer in play time where they use their imagination Got to have that mud covered experience, you know?

I have moved some rocks discovered that the rocks discourage hens from dust bathing next to the house! Got a couple of iris starts to plant someone had disguarded them I had to refrain from getting a black trash bag full of them but they were not my fav. Colors I like the deeper jewel toned ones. Gathered eggs. Got the area rug vacuumed today plus I have a plan for dinner.
Kiddos will be here this afternoon.

I'm sitting here waiting on dmom and her friend to go to the funeral visitation. They were planning to meet here at 1:00, so I thought j would wait and go in with them. But if they don't show soon, I'll go on without them.
I forgot to tell y'all, the friend who passed away is the antique lady I talked about so much.
I'm not going to stay for the funeral since dmom had already made plans to meet her other friend. So glad she managed that at least -- baby steps back to "normal."
Sooo anxious to hear from Dee's dd....

Lady M, your card system doesn't sound restrictive or controlling at all. Young children love to know what to expect next and also like having the fun items to look forward to. WTG!!! to you and LO and Dgd3!!

All four tasks that can be done during the day are done. Obviously, the three that can only be done in the evening are still pending. I have not made any appreciable progress at payroll. I am having trouble with a database query. I could do an inelegant hack in C#, but I want to figure this out. That being said, if I cannot it is better to have something done than not.
