Hi all!

I'm playing hooky because I'm physically exhausted and in pain. I've pushed hard all day and will not push myself any further.

Left the room at 7:50 a.m. and had breakfast then got to the book room a bit before 8:30. Worked there or at the conference until lunch. Walked back to my room (a 5 minute walk) because the lineup for lunch was really long. Picked up my cut veggies and Dr. Pepper, plus a can of soda water and went back to the line which was still long but only half as long. Ate quickly, went to the book room, missed the worship - again - and then paid attention for a short time but then was sucked back into the book room.

Our deadline was 6:30 p.m. to shut it down and pack up but we were 'open' until 5 so that meant we couldn't pack up early. Plus dinner was at 5. We worked until 5:30, ate fast and finished the packing up by 6:30. The girl brought in to run it has headed back home now (she needs to be in church tomorrow) and I'm left with labeling the boxes once someone puts them on pallets for me.

The ordination started at 6:30 and we finished at 6:32. Because we were just curtained off from the ordination service, it meant we had to seal the boxes before they started. Which we did.

I'm missing the ordination but since I've spent 8 hours today in the hot, airless, room, and because I was a pool of sweat and not dressed for the service, I just came back to the room instead.

The quiet here, with a cool breeze coming in the window and the sound of trains going by is blessed. I'm just done with people for now. I'm hoping to do my exercises and then get dressed and go to the reception and possibly pub after. We'll see how my legs feel.

The depressing part is as exhausted as I am, I've only done 9K steps today (and same yesterday.) I have done 12 floors, though because I've been up and down stairs today. Which is still painful. The worst is when I'm walking with someone who is walking quickly and I'm trying to keep up.

I'm thinking it is all the having to be 'on' all the time that is wearing me down so much.

Delegating --- hmmm. Well, we delegated the ride across the bay to dgd18-K's graduation this morning. Her high school is in the county just north of ours, but they have always had the south county's ceremonies at the USF Sundome Arena. We needed two vehicles to hold five adults and four children, and dgd18 had to be there at 8 am, so ds#1-C drove our car with us and the two dgsons and we met ddil-D and her dmom and the two dgds there. The ceremony was nice with nice speeches by adult officials and the students. There was 400+ graduates; I was able to get a few pictures which I put on FB this afternoon.

After the ceremony dh and I decided to have lunch for everyone and stopped at kfc on the way home. The dgkids always like that. Like Harriet we had a mishap with our order and dh and ds had to make another trip out to get the chicken nuggets they forgot to put with our order (kfc gave us a second box of nuggets free). Dfam#1 stayed for a couple of hours then left to get dgd18 home in time to go to a grad party at a dfriends home.

Dh and I cleaned up the table and kitchen quickly then we both sat down for a little nap. We were up at 5:45 am; dBlondie woke me at 5 am wanting to go out ( very unusual for her), and I only dozed after that till 6 am.

Thursday evening we went to the spring concert at dgd13-M's middle school. The theme was all Irish and the music and dancing was very delightful. Dgd-M played the tuba and her bagpipe and danced. As the last concert of the year there was also awards for all the students. (Proud grandma brag here....dgd13 was chosen to be the Pipe Major for next year!) Like Harriet says - the end of school year is very busy!

((Twins)). I understand your missing your dsweet boys!

Kathryn, hope you get some good rest tonight!

Dee, I, too, like the way you do your lists. Yesterday I made plane reservations for our trip to VA in two weeks. So I need to do some planning and get my lists in order also. Ds#2-J has said he will again stay here and take care of our ddogs for us.

We've been watching the Stanley Cup playoffs also. I was never interested enough to watch ice hockey before this; I'd rather watch football, college or pro. However, ds#2-J is a fan and I started watching so I'd have something to talk about with him.

Hi to lucylee.

The Stanley Cup makes me think of MysteryWoman, whose daughter was photographed in the cup as a baby.

Kathryn, social things with many people are draining and you don't realize it at the time. Even without so many steps specifically, it sounds as though you have been quite active. I hope you feel well enough for the evening activities.

Congratulations to your graduating dgd and Pipe Major dgd, Sunny!

HRH was either bitten by some insects or has a reaction to something. Right now we are hoping it is not poison ivy. I would quite rather it was bug bites, believe me.

And Hi to Lynlee - hope your day is going well.

Was headed for bed when HRH came in and said Vice President Biden's son has passed away. That really makes me pensive tonight. Very sad for them. But he had had a full life, even if not a long one.

(((Kathryn)))

(((Twins)))

Congratulations to Sunny's dgd18 -- and to dgd13 for the band achievement!

(((Harriet))) with all the family stuff...

WTG, Dove, with getting your dh on board w/some project planning... wish a little more of that could take place around here.

Waving to RunKitty -- building a boat DOES sound like hard-work, but kind of exciting! My ddad LOVED to be out on his boat.

I also like your organized method of list-making, Dee! As y'all know, unlike Harriet, I definitely love a list... LOL!!! ;)

Well, there has not been much DELEGATING done around here today, but it has been a busy day. And an EXPENSIVE day, in spite of dh starting it out w/trip to the post office and returning home with his paycheck. About half of THAT is gone now... * sigh *

* AC man came... put more "gas" in the unit to the tune of $150 -- we were just glad he showed up on a Saturday!
* trash compactor tore up. We had suspected this was coming, had taken it apart on Mother's Day, but today it got stuck shut and no amount of screw removal/etc would get it unstuck. Finally ordered one from S ears to the tune of $700+.
* trip to CVS... just normal stuff, thank goodness
* talked to dmom (at least that was free, LOL, although SHE is spending money like nobody's business... new vinyl siding on ddad's shop, pressure-washing, painting... well, good for her, and it IS nobody's business if she wants to spend her money.
* watching college women's softball world series -- we won the first game, and thought we had lost the second. Other team came running out on the field celebrating, dh changed the channel, and lo and behold, he just flipped back and they are in the 10th inning! (7 innings is a regular game for softball.) We don't know what on earth happened, but our team is still alive so far...

Editing to say, I forgot to tell y'all I also changed sheets on the bed today... AND our team just won! :D

And editing to say I also finished weekly vacuuming -- master bedroom and bath -- at about 11:45 pm! :)
