I woke up in a donwanna do anything mood...
finally forced myself to follow the routine --
* s/s toilets
* put a load of laundry in the washer
* hung to dry, put second load in washer
* s2s, did Bible reading
And then the pool table man called.
This man is one of those people who goes over everything ten times, speaking v e r y slowly and deliberately, explaining everything till I am ready to SCREAM...
and it turns out he thinks this is going to HAVE TO be a two-day job...
AND, although he will bring a helper, he will need ds & dh's assistance as well...
and he told me, didn't he, that he had recently had a hernia operation... (YES, he has told me this repeatedly)
and he is not sure he can get this done before the end of the month, b/c he has a vacation trip planned in two weeks.
So. In two weeks, we have just about GOT to get contractor over here and get that floor put down.
All this confusion set dh off in a tizzy, and he is saying he doesn't want the (disassembled) table moved from ds's to our house until the second day... and I did not get the impression that the man would have time to schedule the two days back to back, although dh says that is ridiculous, why couldn't he do it two days in a row? DS will definitely not want the disassembled table sitting around in his room once it is taken down, and if man can get it upstairs here, as he says he can, that will get it out of the way for everyone. DH is just very anxious about the "downtime" -- doesn't want it sitting in our "unfinished" garage any longer than necessary -- fears heat damage to the soft rubber parts, I think...
DH is still very wary about the man being able to get the table upstairs anyway, even though the man has seen pictures and the contractor says it can be done.
All this just put dh in a very bad mood, and now I've totally lost my momentum.
He just cannot deal with stressful situations of any kind, it seems. I wish I could get him on some sort of nerve med... Valium or something...
* shaking my head *
(((
Nancy))) So sorry about your daunt.
There is a recipe online that says you can make a cake with nothing but cake mix and 12 oz of any carbonated beverage. No eggs, oil, etc. Do y'all think that would work? The possibilities are endless, you know. White cake and orange drink -- Creamsicle cake! Cherry cake and Coke... I might try it. I just wonder if it would be any good. Thinking that would be fun to try with the grandchildren,
Harmony, if it works.
(((
Dee))) I understand your anxiety about discussing this whole situation with dsisil, but good gracious, it's really none of her concern. She has no idea what any of you have had to deal with. Let's see how quickly SHE would like to bring dgd into her home! It does add weight to your position, and your dd/dsil, that yet another family had no luck in reaching this child, and the fact that multiple counselors and others have said she is the worst case they have ever dealt with. (((BIG HUGS))) -- and LOTS of PRAYERS for tomorrow!!!
(((Cathy))) Praying you will feel much better soon!
