Good morning! Last night was not particularly productive because I had my monthly animal org board meeting. Fortunately, there is no homework from that other than the usual type up minutes and notes. I did remember to move the turkeys from freezer to refrigerator and make a list of ingredients needed for feeding the youth group Sunday. I had to change my bedding because Cleo got sick. Why does she EAT the sisal off the scratching posts? I also found a favorite doll I thought was missing.

At payroll, I have my usual report tasks (which I like), a new task involving data transfer to learn (should be useful and not too hard), and a meeting that I am only there because the big boss wants to 'keep everyone involved'.

Tonight, DD13 is going to the x's company function at a local amusement park, so I have the evening to myself. I am going to the knit/crochet group that I have not been to since I started getting her on Thursdays (last time I went was October). Then, it is on to the grocery store. If my paycheck has been deposited, I need to get some cash. (Paycheck is supposed to be every other Friday, but sometimes arrives on Thursday). Must balance checkbook. Soon, I should take some pictures and post my latest finished crochet object and pack it for shipping. I have some church webwork, but I doubt I will have time for it tonight.

lucylee: I have been distancing myself from the chicken friend for a while now, but there are inevitable meetings. To be specific, I began pulling away from her when she decided I HAD to have a second child, despite the fact that (a) I didn't want one, (b) doctors advised against another pregnancy, and (c) I had my tubes tied, all of which she knew. She wanted me to adopt, despite (a). She did eventually give up on the idea. Now, she is involved in a meetup group for people in their 40s and 50s. It's not a singles group and includes couples and singles, and they go out for things like dancing, movies, concerts, other fun events. She wants me to go, and I think I will try it. For one thing, it is not at her house and I will not get attacked again and, for another, I may meet other (better) friends! Seeing her on neutral ground would be an improvement. I hope your cold beverage last night was a beer or wine cooler!

Blessed, you are a very kind person to be there for your family the way you are.

RRose, thank you for nice words last night. I used a cold washcloth across my forehead and eyes (where the pain seemed to be) and it felt very good. Light from the TV was annoying so I turned that off. Yesterday and today I noticed across my ribs in the back are sore from so much straining. I do usually get sick like that, but usually only one time not 3 to the point of dry heaves. (sorry gross!) I'm still feeling a little bit washed out, even with no strong pain killers to get out of my system.

Wondering about Sunny and their trip. Didn't know they were flying..know they had intended to drive, but must have changed their plans.

Today I am thinking about DD & 3 DGSons coming tomorrow evening... and getting a start on that. I have 2 things out of the freezer to cook ahead Friday morning. If I was smart I would get groceries today but I don't think I have the energy for that today, so I will do that Fri morning as well. Not a good plan, but I'm just not 100% yet.

What I didn't think about: I missed 2 birthdays so have to pickup one card today and I have the other in the mail already.

Yesterday I didn't get much done and I had a time of catch-up already this morning.

Lucylee, who invaded your body yesterday?! That was a lot of cleaning you got done!

Harriet, hoping you have a not-too-difficult day.

Good morning, villagers ~
Posting between storms. We are predicted to have a series of thunderstorms all day and night, some with heavy rain.

I have my sewing group board meeting in The Big City this afternoon, followed by normal Thursday shift at the library. I don't think I will have time for any errands in between.

I just got up from an hour nap and I'm still really tired. I think the problem is too many days in a row of having to be in public being nice to people. ;)

Next up is to eat a quick lunch and make sure I have everything I need for the meeting and work.

Must wash my hair, too. It will be pointless to do anything else with it before going out into the rain, but at least it will be clean.

I hope you all have a great day.

Harmony ... I call what you're experiencing today my headache hangover.

Those types of migraines are very hard on your body and it's systems. Sometimes I am just worthless the day after my migraines.

I have been charting my headaches to look for any patterns that might cause mine. Of course because of the nature of my headaches there are t any, but you might try it.

I'll get mine out and post it somewhere so anyone in the village can use it if they want to.

I was 'thinking' before I left for town. Had to go to the Post office to mail dh's request to the state for new 'firemen' license plates for our car -finally. Remembered I had a bill that came to FL shortly before I left for dh's shots that he had in April at his GP's. Evidently our insurance no longer covers them. So I made that out to mail as well. Also had a letter that had to be signed (picked up at the post office yesterday) for direct deposit of our monthly annuity. Some things were changed there and advisor thought everything would just follow through -not. Our deposit for the end of May was not there and she had to do a manual transfer. So got all 3 of those things ready to go and then continued on into town to fill up the gas tank. (It's 5-cents off on Thursdays -I try to go a week most weeks). Also had to think how I was going as I knew the main road between us and town had all kinds of construction so went a different both ways.

Just took dd and dBailey over to her RV. Bailey's new 6" bed came today -just like the one she has in FL. DD opened it and laid it down. DBailey came in the RV went right over and laid down on it. Knows it's hers I guess. :D

DD did get a call today from gd's case worker. They and Heartland for children and the guardian Mom (& dd) are to have a conference call tomorrow at 11. Heartland wants to talk about what kind of services gd will need and their thoughts on placement. So evidently it's back in their court now and they obviously know the answers for the most part. They're talking some sort of 'shelter' but we all know it really needs to be a 'locked' placement or she'll just run. I'm sure there's even more info that they might not have since her last placement at Palm Shores in Bradenton. The attorney did call yesterday and assured dd that gd is not allowed anywhere near their residence so that negates any possibility of them requesting dsonil to take her. She'll let him know that he will be named on the restraining order if they even broach that possibility. So at least dd is beginning to relax a little more. If she needs to sign paperwork most likely she can do that here and have it notarized.

Think I"m going to take a rest now for a little bit.

((Harmony)) That does sound awful. ((RRose)) I'm glad you're sharing. I have friends who get/used to get migraines, and they sound quite debilitating. One friend got them monthly, iykwim. She just knew that every month, she'd spend a few days in bed with the shades drawn, in pain and vomiting. I couldn't imagine. . . She finally had a hysterectomy for other reasons, and I think that helped - not that that is a solution for everyone.

I'm not too driven today. Not thinking too much, apparently. . .
- jog with dh
- QT
- s2s and self-care
- breakfast
- kitchen tidy (dw unloaded, reloaded, counters wiped down)
- one small lol folded and put away
- lunch
- chatted with dd17 who is just now starting her summer vacation!
- lol #2 in the dryer
- lol #3 (towels) is in the washing machine
- MBR bed made
- went through 2 closets and culled some clothes. I should probably cull more dresses, but some of them seem timeless in terms of fashion. I think I could wear them again - but will I? I don't wear dresses much anymore, not sure why. I do have nice legs so wearing dresses would be to my advantage. Hmm..... Still, I made progress.
- found games for class today

Small mommy brag: I don't really like bragging, so for context, I'll just say that I know everyone here has very accomplished children and grandchildren, and we each take pleasure in them. And we share here because we are happy - and we're sharing that happiness and joy. The final exam grades are already in, and I'm proud of dd17 who is keeping her perfect GPA, with plenty of margin. It sounds like she got between 96 and 100% (2 of them) on all her final exams, including 100 on her honors math exam. I'm also proud of me - for looking at her grades online maybe once this entire year and generally being clueless as to her assignments and grades this year. LOL! Most of all, I'm pleased and happy that dd17 is definitely doing this all on her own, while also being involved in band, drumline, and keeping up her etsy shop.

We may try to go see Shakespeare in the Arb tonight to celebrate dd17's being finished for the year. I don't remember which play they're doing this year, but they rotate between a small number of them, generally the comedies. We'll see how that goes; there's a chance of rain early this evening. Also, I'm done with work at 5:30 and the play starts at 6:30 and the play patrons usually bring a picnic lunch to eat in the area by the peonies (are they still in bloom?) beforehand.

Four hours ago I started the dusting and polishing furniture.

I'm still at it.

Too late to go sit by the river now, even if I was finished (all that is left to do is my desk.)

The living room is rather topsy turvy right now. There are still 4 boxes of things in here from the move, artfully hidden.

Box one is actually the chandelier from the dining room (our own one is hung now) and it must be stored in the apartment (not even the storage locker downstairs.) It won't fit in the storage room in the apartment so it is tucked between my desk and the wall. I had two VHS tape stands hiding it but they were pretty trashy looking so it made the whole room shabbier than it should.

Today I moved the VHS tape stands against the wall, leaving the chandelier box and the box of empty binders on top exposed. I needed to move contents from white binders to black binders so the book shelf next to my desk would look better so I did that and picked several binders to toss or give away. That means the box now closes and I have it back on top of the chandelier box, both hidden under a table cloth and with my active file hanging frames on top. They were on the left of my desk, and are now on the right.

That leaves the last two boxes exposed and it is time something is done with those contents. My and my mother's school yearbooks and a box of collectibles that no-one seems to want (I've tried selling online repeatedly.)

So that, plus stuff in binders I've decided to dispose of, are now all over the living room.

First up - clear off my desk and dust it. Otherwise, I won't complete any tasks today!

You can use my experience as an example of what happens when you don't 'think' on a Thursday!

Congratulations to Helia's dd (and Helia for not being a helicopter parent so her dd's accomplishment is completely her own!)

The dang dusting is finally done!

Dh has just got us a free week between April and November, any year, at a guest house in Granada. He's on the phone right now with the former Miss World who owns it (years ago he did their website and yesterday their new person handling it, who is currently away, let the domain name expire so the website went down.)

I think we'll go next April because he's emptying the travel budget for 2016 to go back to Africa. But we can still have a lovely holiday in the warm and sun.
