Home from church & lunch. Both were very enjoyable - even though I unexpectedly found myself keeping six little ones (2 year old and younger) during church. When I took LO to his class I saw no-one was there to keep the nursery so I stayed. I had one crying baby so I asked someone to get DH. He came and held the crying baby so I could focus on watching the other 5 little ones.

I am watching an online episode of "Married at First Sight". I just happened to stumbled upon the show. I had never heard of it. Not sure what I think of it, but the concept has me curious enough to keep watching.

Good Afternoon everyone...I've been singing Oh Happy Day today. We have had three very long, busy days and I'm so happy to be relaxing and visiting here today.

Thursday I was up early so I could check off last minute items and do my weekly cleaning. I managed to get everything done by noon and was ready when ddil-Y came to pick us up. She is so good to to us; she stayed at the airport all through check in to help with luggage up till we had to go through security. We were there two hours early and it took a little over 1 1/2 hours. Anyway the plane ride was good and ds#3-T was waiting for us at 4:45 pm. We stopped on the way home for a sandwich and finally reached home about 8:30.

Friday was last minute shopping and prep for the doings on Saturday. Oh, and we had to pick up dgd17's dfriend at the train station. Dgd17-H grad ceremony started at 8 am in the outdoor stadium. We were up at 5 am and out the door by 6:15 -- all 16 of us! Ddil#2-A's two dsis were here with their dfamilys, ddil's dmom, ds & ddil's dfamily, ddil's dmom, dgd17's dfriend, dh and I = 8 adults, 8 children, ( although dgd will be 18 next month and her dfriend-D is two yrs. older, so more adult than child ). The grad ceremony was very nice, about 480 grads. The weather was nice; we sat on the shady side of the field and the sun didn't get too hot till about the last half hour. We stopped on the way home at a Mexican restaurant for lunch. The dkids all played while ddil finished up food prep for dgd's party in the evening. They shared together with the parents of dgd17's dfriend-T and rented the marina clubhouse for the evening and it turned out very nice.

Today is just a nice day to relax. Most of the family slept in this morning. Ds/ddil and dh & I gave dgd our presents this morning after breakfast. They gave her a watch on a chain (necklace), designed by the jeweler who designed all the jewelry for the Harry Potter movies. Dh and I gave her a small sterling silver jewelry box with her first name and 2015 engraved on the top; both nice keepsakes! She received a lot of nice things from dfamily and friends!

This morning dh and I were awake early and were watching the early church service on computer when dgs13-C joined us. Before anyone could do any cooking/eating the kitchen needed a complete cleaning. So dgson and I unloaded the dishwasher and reloaded it. Then I started hand washing all the other stuff and big pots/pans; a lot of it had been here since Thurs. By that time ddil-A had gone out for D. Donuts and ds-T was up. He, dgs and dh helped dry all the dishes. Ddil, her dmom and her youngest dsis have gone shopping ( they took the two youngest children with them ( a 6 mo old by and 4 yo girl). The rest of us are just doing our own thing, enjoying each other's company!

I stay busy but so much of the time it seems I don't have much to show for all my busyness.

. It seems like so much a homemaker does is Background Tasks that don't show, but make the rest of the homemaking easier.

Twins, that was a nice gift D AuntP brought you and dh!

Looks like all the dkids want to go outside to play and dson my take them down to the pool for a swim. I' going to straighten up dh and my suitcases and try to organize them better. Then I will take a walk around our Village and see what I've been missing!

We are on the road and all is well. Dgs announced every fast food place on the road for about 30 minutes and then fell asleep, LOL!

Harriet: at my preaching courses, we were always given two flat sheets, neither long enough for the bed. First time you go, you suffer. From then on in, you pack a fitted sheet since keeping your bed made was one of the tasks you had to do. Unlike at Conference. I made my bed (again two flat sheets) and then laid out my clothes for the evening because I knew I'd have very little time to change. When I finally did get back to the room, my bed had been remade by a maid and it took a while to find my clothes (I too made the rookie mistake of no hangars!)

Yes, I was singing today. Lots of singing. And bell ringing. I supervised and never got a pull myself but we rang our bell 153 times since it was the church's 153rd anniversary.

Two extra choir pieces were tossed at us, the second as we arrived back in the choir loft from having communion. Thankfully, that was "Put Your Hand in the Hand" so was easy for us to pull ourselves together.

Pot luck after went well. We stayed until the very end and still had time to visit at the general store before my afternoon services. I spent time in the kitchen at the end with a woman who's son is dying. All day I noted she couldn't find words or things she'd put down. The strain of the long good-bye is wearing her down (he was put in hospice and has lived 2 months longer than expected and full month since the feeding tube was removed.)

My first service in the afternoon went well. One woman came, saw the comfy chairs were all occupied and so left. When I heard about that, I dragged two more comfy chairs into the room and someone fetched her. She turned 98 yesterday so we sang Happy Birthday to her. The non-comfy chairs really are miserable to sit in. I know because I sit in them when I attend my own minister's services at the retirement home.

The second service had 6, which is good attendance, and went well too. Ironically, the woman I know best there was away today, at MF's service! So I'll tease him later this week, complaining he took my favourite away from me. In reality, I'm really glad she made it to his service. He desperately misses her presence in church each week as she is one of his favourites.

I had pushed hard this morning and not only got veggies ready for the potluck but also cut some up for my stir fry at dinner. Dh started ribs for himself and made up the rice. We finished dinner by 6 as a result. The dishwasher is now running and the kitchen is all cleaned up, including washing the large drink dispenser that I used for the punch I brought to the pot luck.

Next up we'll either nap or just go to bed for the night. There is another concert at 9 p.m. and if we are going we need to nap. On the other hand, rain is on its way and if it rains we don't want to go. At least we can choose to go only for a few songs and then come home since it is just a mile's walk away.

I lay down for 15 minutes and then checked the festival website and was surprised the closing act was already on stage. Turns out she was on at 8 - 9:30 not 9 - 10:30 as I thought.

We scrambled, decided not to bike (mistake, there were no crowds so we could have got there in 10 minutes instead of 20) and caught the last 2 songs. Said hi to our friend who plays in the band and then went for froyo. Got home by 10:15.

On the plus side, cuz we walked I'm now over 10K steps for the day. Off to get ready for bed and then do my physio exercises before bed.

We got the new arbor in and clean up had to wait. I got the other one up be the other gate in the after noon. Only 6 got eggs today. Hens are enjoying tne fresh fruit in the yard now green apples, & purple plum cherries.

Left over red lobster biscuits & gravy for hubbys dinner was a hit tonight.
Finished the suprise baby blanket.

U can tell I've been doing yd work. The kitchen will need some attn. Tomorrow. Heading off to bed now.
