Good morning all! Last night, I got the floral headband parts with DD13, who had definite ideas on how it should be done. After she left, I figured out how to remove the oil change reminder from the car (oil change is done), activated the xm radio that replaced the one that fell in the tea, transferred stuff from fridge to freezer, and extreme cleaned a catbox.

Today, at payroll, is documentation, which I expect to finish today.

The washing up needed at my house is the dishes. Usually not a problem, just toss them in the dishwasher. However the DW drains to the leaking garbage disposal. Tonight's main task will be replacing that disposal. I also need to make a DPC at some time.

Snark Alert! To go to this party on Saturday, I realized (since kids are not invited) that it would be easier to get DD13 Sunday morning rather than Saturday evening. So, I had to talk to the x, who had no problem with it. The snarky thing is now he knows there is a party to which he and the other woman are NOT invited! Hee hee.

TwinsMom: The crochet is not really an antidote to tech work. I like tech work. It's nice and predictable. My stressors come from people. Crochet is predictable and somewhat mathematical and thus a stress reliever for whatever ails me.

Time to go. Gotta read two resumes before the group meets the candidates. One name I recognize from another division.

Office Lens is fast becoming one of my highly used & trusted apps. It is Microsoft software that has been recently made available (free) on the Android platform. I don't think my ScanSnap device has been used since I discovered Office Lens, especially paired up with OneNote. It also has option to file it several other ways- pdf, word, txt, etc.

The idea behind Office Lens is to turn your smartphone or tablet into a fast, efficient scanner, one that automatically deposits documents, business cards, receipts, sticky notes, whiteboards and other real-world items into your digital filing cabinet.

LadyM: I agree about slant in reporting and how one small bit will be reported over and over. It is funny, as mothers we know that a child saying something over and over and over and over doesn't make it true or the full story. Saying "He punched me!" 15 times (ranging from tears to accusation to yelling to grumbling) doesn't mean that the 'he' in the sentence wasn't reacting to the 'me' in the sentence bullying for 15 minutes prior to the punch and not responding to any of the requests to stop.

Maybe, it is because I'm a parent, I get quite concerned when I see so much bullying in the world today. Tim Hunt's scientific specialty was cell division, research that may someday lead to better treatments for cancer. Until I see more than 37 words of what he said (his intro which was a in his words meant as a humour) I don't see him being destroyed as fair punishment for his 'thought crime'. Unfortunately, the 37 words in this case is the "He punched me!" and the rest of story is lost, probably forever.

I see interesting comparisons with the hounding to death of Turing for his socially incorrect behaviour. The fact that he led the team who saved thousands of lives meant nothing. Hunt's behaviour (assuming he is a closet sexist who hides that fact by letting women into his labs, funding them, and recommending them for positions around the world) is also part of the changing mores of society but while we wait for everyone to get on the same page, we watch another life destroyed.

I've s2s and done my upright stretches. I'll do my floor work next and then maybe get to work on yesterday's housework.

I started the dishwasher washing up the dishes this morning, I'm out of the habit of starting it at night. Need to do lots of other "washing up" to get things back to rights here. Haven't done laundry since last week.

I just lost a longer post when my computer started acting stupid. I'm still tracking dd, should be landing in Amman Jordan soon, I think. Hoping all goes well with entering the country. I'm feeling better today, less sad. She sent a Facebook message to me overnight that started out...."I just lost so much money...." but she ended that she had "lost" it to the exchange rate and commissions. Apparently had to convert to euros then dinars. I don't know what the alternative would have been, she had to have dinars in hand to enter Jordan.

Found a 40 something page document this morning that I had "filed" in Evernote in 2007 when I wasn't doing genealogy. Traces a line of family back across the ocean, altho no citations are included. I've learned enough not to jump until I see the citation, however.

LadyM, I use "Scanner" app with my iPHone, much the same principle. So easy to scan via phone now.

Kathryn, didn't realize who Hunt was, but now recall the story. Obviously more to the story than the media reports.


Need to get to work, I think of all of you often but don't respond and greet you, except in my mind!

It's going to be a record breaking high today. Temps will be between 113-115*

Willis has infected anal glands which caused them to abscess. He's been on antibiotics for a week, plus I had to apply warm compresses to them. Anyway I was up and to the vets to have Willis checked by 8:15 this morning. Good news is he doesn't have to have the vet sedate him to flush the glands out. The glands are still infected but much better. We go back again next week. In the meantime Willis can start swimming again... It's how I exercise him in this heat...although he still needs to keep taking meds.

I have a dishwasher to unload and clean dishes in my sink to put away. After that my day is clear. Need to make reservations to fly to my mom then I may get lost down that rabbit hole twins is so familiar with.

Btw twins... Did you find your workshop helpful? In sept I am spending a week with a bunch of high school girlfriends. We will be in Salt Lake City where my host lives. I am extending my visit a few days so that I can go to the genealogy center there. Am exited about that.

Just did my first household task since Monday night. (Dh, bless him, has made the bed each morning -he knows that's a 'have to' for me' ) I just 'washed-up' the dishes. There weren't too many but I was spent by the time I finished.

Must have pinched a nerve in my fall Monday as the first 2 fingers on my right hand just won't 'wake up'. Otherwise I'm doing better. Dh put an ankle brace on my right foot today and that seems to help. I have a rolling walker in here to help me some of the time. Part of the time I can take very small steps while holding on to walls, counter, table, etc. That's one good thing about the RV 'hanging on' is always very close by. My knee seems to be responding to the ice and is no longer warm but more black & blue. Have bruises surfacing all over the place. Have one spot on my left leg that was badly scraped and I'm watching that for any sign at all of infection or circulation problem. I am diabetic and I also broke that leg/ankle several years ago and it's also missing the long vein that was removed for my heart by-pass many years ago. So that is the more troublesome side if there is one.
Thanks for all your thoughts and concerns. I'm just slowly healing. Time to go recline in the recliner again. I've done a lot of dozing but still slept well in the recliner last night.

Dh and dd need to go to our old house on Monday to see if there's anything we want out of there yet. It was sold again this week so I'm sure this will be our last chance. Not that we have much room. But there are a few things that I know of.

We've got rain here today.

Taking a couple of vacation days. I'm not going back to work until Friday.

I've had this awful cough for a long time, nothing seemed to help it. I coughed so hard that I pulled something in my back.

Slept in late today, and for once in a very long time I hadn't been awaken through the night by coughing several times and the rest has helped my back.

Today's plans are housework and making a couple of pies. Tomorrow is dson j's birthday and he prefers pie over cake and I try to accommodate.

He stepped down from his department manager job yesterday. Dh and I felt so bad for him but he said he is fine with the decision. WM has eliminated some mid-management positions and now the stores have to find jobs for theses people. He was offered a dept manager position in meats so that his lawn and garden slot could be give to his mid manager. He hated the meat position, most people do and they go through people over there quickly. So he just stepped down, hoping he can stay in lawn and garden as an associate. His mid manager took his spot. He said there was problems being dept manager, the older people were reliable but couldn't always do the physical labor. The young people didn't want to work and had to be told over and over again but still wouldn't do it. His mid manager told him he needed someone like himself,young and reliable. They've always been a good team so hoping that can continue.

The house is calling me.

Oh so glad to see Dee posting and moving around a bit. This will take you awhile to get over so take it easy, no hurry!

Sadie, good to see you posting too, sorry that ds's job promotion wasn't a good fit for him. I'm pleased you got some good restorative rest.

I am going to start a lol and head out on errands - groceries, Tar-jay and S taples.

Also looking at ways to freeze some of my excess basil. What a glorious problem to have!

I have done a store run for a few things.
"Washed up" some clothes. Dryer is now going. S2s including hair x or my ci on that.
Have cooked ahead some stuff for a couple meals. Trying to tnink how to do a crock pot apple crisp maybe with pumpkin / squash for fiber.

Sinus on one side acting up a bit argh.
Trying to get a doll dress ready for tomorrow took to long so giving that a rest for now.
I need to exercise a bit more Imoved the pile of branches out of the way a bit. It is not very big took less than 5 min.
