Sunny -- so glad y'all didn't experience any direct tornado activity! That can be scary! Sounds like y'all have had a great visit w/family.

Glad helia stayed safe through stormy weather too! Bet you'll be glad to see your family return.

Our trash day is Monday, also, Harmony. I like starting the week off "fresh." Wish we had home pick-up for recycling. Our newspaper man takes the old newspapers though, so that is probably 1/2 of our trash, anyway!
Bless your heart w/the employees and doctors and employee's doctors... sheesh! You have truly got your hands full! (((HUGS)))

Speaking of recycling, etc... I asked ddil if she enjoyed reading my Better Homes and Gardens and Good Housekeeping magazines, and if she'd like me to pass them on to her, or did they just contribute to the clutter and stuff she was trying to get rid of. She said, sure, she'd like to look at them, so I am hoping I am NOT contributing to the clutter problem at that household... BUT -- thinking there are always good tips and things in those kinds of magazines that might catch her eye, MUCH BETTER than a controlling mil mentioning them. I told her I had let a stack accumulate on my nightstand, and as I went through them, I'd send them to her and she could throw them away when she finished with them.
I also have Real Simple magazine, which I LOVE, and which is always full of storage ideas and household hints. BH&G runs out this month and I am not going to renew it, however. Just too many magazines coming in here.

27 minutes WHB dusting
-- Timing myself, and it is kinda puzzling, b/c I did all "public" areas of house in 27 minutes, but last time I used the timer in the master bedroom, I wrote down 20 minutes for that room alone. That is ridiculous. I'm thinking that was top to bottom, "zone" cleaning dusting. Now I am trying to establish some habits for WHB so I am doing the quick sort of dusting Flylady says to spend 10 minutes on, maximum. That obviously would not get me far in my house, but today's efforts were sorta a halfway effort between her 10 minutes and real zone cleaning. I used the swiffer and did the tops/fronts of things, pictures on the wall, but I did NOT clear every surface and polish, you know. When dh gets finished watching videos in the bedroom, I'll see how long quick dusting takes in there.

Yesterday, I counted Wmart as my weekly task, and didn't do any WHB or zone work at all, except for sorting through magazines. But I did walk outdoors yesterday also.

Now, need to s2s.

One of the best things about apartment living is that trash day in any day! Recycling, on the other hand, is best on Thursdays as the bins downstairs are emptied on Wednesdays so have room for our recycling. By the weekend, they are full to overflowing.

I've done the vacuuming and dusting.

Moved things down on the balconies. It is awfully windy out there and everything was falling over. Not sure if all the plants will survive (several took a tumble.)

Talked with my senior friend about tomorrow (still on.)

Need to scan and send a 6 page document to the accountant.

Dinner tonight is burgers again if dh is willing. They are quick and easy.

Afternoon y'all...

Yesterday was my "trash day" I went through my clothes and pull items I knew I wouldn't wear. Then I went through several drawers and found a stack of books I could donate. Since discovering my group home facility has a donation center as well as a re-buy story decluttering around the house has become easier. I like knowing that my "stuff" is either going to the kids who live there or will bring in monies to keep the facility running.

After doing my morning routines I found myself dusting a bit here and there and before I knew it my entire house was done...mopped floors and all. I love when that happens.

One of the girls I am working out with is a mother of five....ages 2-13. She is being challenged because the kids don't always do their chores and she is split between "paying" them or just considering the chores as part of what a family does. We've had several discussions on the pro's and con's of both. She wanted to set up some sort of system and the teacher in me knew of a few sites to look at.

While searching i came up with a site that rocks. I'm going to post it here because even though most of y'all are past the point of small kids, you might know mothers who are struggling like my friend. Make sure to read the full site. The gal gives a person everything they need to work her program. She even has come up with chores for very small kids to do. Wish I had found her years ago... and by the way its free.

Took an hour long nap before dinner. Am tempted to go to bed soon. I had a list of things to do this evening but I'm still not perking up.

Trash needs to be thought of on Tuesday here, as well, since the trucks come so early Wednesday. I got a bag of our recyclables out to the cans this evening along with a bag of trash. So that's going to be about all that goes this week.

Harmony, yes, that is unacceptable. I actually argued with one doctor's office this last time that it wasn't quite 6 months yet and I could wait! (That was when the pharmacy's computer mistakenly showed that I had no refills and I had to call dr.) They insisted that I should come in so that I didn't go over time . Sorry to hear about the turnover of workers and water.

Desk Day today will carry over to tomorrow but a lot got done. Also bank errand.

Elizabeth, yay, I remember your belly-dance-class days. It will be interesting to hear about it again. I'm sure it's very healthy for you.

Next up here is to fold a load of laundry and do another 15 of exercise.

Elizabeth, I remember your dancing days also. Didn't you make your own costume?

Harriet, yes, I think this dr. thing is unacceptable also. She is part of a big organization. I believe there are 6 - 8 drs. in this one big office. Like I said before, when I go in there I feel like a cattle in a chute. They also have a lot of diagnostic things too right there, treadmill, xray machines, lab for blood draws (and believe me those cubicles are so small for the blood draws they barely fit the chair.) There are offices of this organization all over my county and the counties to the north and south of us. So you get the picture of what kind of place this is. Gone are the days of the little country dr. with private practices. At least around here.

TA-DA! Big accomplishment here tonight. I had to scan a proposal in and email to customer and had to deal with that dumb program that comes up. I don't think the copies I get with that scanner are very good quality. Googling the problem did not help me figure out how to make my old program the default and I tried everything. Finally went into the copier/fax/scanner file and found the place to make the change and the program was right there to set! Never thought I'd get this straightened out but I did, thank goodness. It'll make my work so much easier.

Trip to dr. with employee failed because this wasn't his appointment date. I knew when he called them for more pain relief they'd made a different appointment (earlier) which he denied when I talked with him. I couldn't tell him I thought he was wrong because I wasn't actually supposed to have that information (patient confidentiality laws). So down we went to the appointment that was actually cancelled...and he was marked a no-show for the earlier one. Sheesh...what a dufus. They made him another appointment for next week.

Maybe tomorrow will go smoother. I tried to do some mopping today but didn't get far. I suspect I will have to get up extremely early as we had some paperwork to do tonight but DH was too tired. Another employee change today. Guy called and said he was taking a sabbatical. He should have just been honest and said he was quitting. We got a better guy to replace him with. Y'all have no idea what we deal with on a daily basis around here. So far we've had 11 employees this year...and DH usually just works with 1. I'm dreading the end of the year with W2's. They'll take forever.

We were offline a while. ATandT problem that kept us up until this hour. So glad that's over because that's our phone, too.

I got in 25 minutes of exercise.

Crazy smallest chicken flew/hopped out the window of the henhouse when she saw HRH drive in. Now that she's learned to do that, we can't leave it open as wide, which is unfortunate in this weather. We are back to putting ice in their water.

Have not yet gotten over the tetris, but it is not worrying me. I think I am reacting to too much responsibility and pressure with some impishness, and it's probably good for me. I'm still functioning. The rest of the family is quizzical - it's usually (always) the other way around with them asking me to wait until they finish a game or whatever.
