To put it plainly, it's just plain miserable day outside here. It has been that dreary rain, rain, rain and I just can't seem to get warm. If I cuddle up and turn the heat up I'm too warm, then I'm too cold.

No ideas for dinner as yet -though dh has said he may go to the onsite 'pub' which opens with just pizza tonight. I've heard the pizza is to be quite good so may just have him bring me a slice. I try walking around the RV, tidying as I go to make my leg feel better, then set with it elevated. Just can't seem to get comfortable today. I know I'm not going out. I've read. At least I don't feel I need to entertain dd -sure she's hanging out with DS-R, DDIL#1 and dgs10. She texted a pic of both their ddogs a while ago. Doing exactly what they should do on a 'dog's day', titled "ruff life".

Dozing side by side. Sure dh is out getting soaked once again. Hopefully he's found work inside the barn. He did say he was going to 'knock off' early today.

I did the Walmart run while dh listened to the game at home.
Got the cooler I went for. I have 2, one 45 quarts, the other 25 quarts with wheels. The one I bought is 45 quarts with wheels. At this point, I have two extra coolers to find homes for. I'm sure at least one of the kids will take one of them.
I also got peanuts for the ball game. They are even branded Blue Jays so I figure they'll be easier to smuggle in. They were $1 a bag instead of $5.50 at the other park. I had a couple just now and discovered they aren't worth the calories but dh is very happy.

I watered the grass seed and checked on the chickens had lunch.
Last load of laundry is in the dryer now, 2 loads to fold now.
It is 102* outside here now. So far the plants are okay trying to find the best spot for my new lavendar plants. Wondering if I can do a fall carrot crop.

Happy Birthday, dHelia! Hope you are having a fantastic day
Dh & I went for a nice long walk this AM. It was perfect summer walking weather for me -- no sun, cool & breezy. I like sunny summer days, too, but have a hard time with hot temps, humidity, & sun in my eyes. Dh fed ddog her breakfast before we decided to walk so she had to stay home. About three hours later I took her to the park for a run, hoping the rain would hold off. It did.
Although I was productive this morning between the two walks, I lost all motivation & momentum after lunch, lol. Did a little of this & that -- some paperwork, emails, a little detail cleaning in the kitchen (even though that is not the zone for this week). Dh took a nap for an hour but I wasn't sleepy. About half an hour later, to paraphrase I think Lucylee

, my eyelids kept getting in the way of my work, so I joined dh for the last 30 minutes of his nap. It was just enough sleep for me & we had a nice snuggle & chat when we woke up.
Harriet, I had the same thing happen to me less than a month ago! Our caller ID showed dh name & our home phone #. He wasn't home at the time & I picked it up without thinking. When the other end hung up I realized I had been duped, because my house phone can't call itself!
I had a banana, some hummus & pita chips earlier & have not been hungry for dinner until now. Dh must have been snacking, too, because he hasn't mentioned dinner either. Tonight is leftover chicken parm, fresh bread & butter, & a salad. I'm off to see if dh is ready to eat.
Waving ~~~~ to everyone!

Had a nap before dinner so am not tired now but will head to bed anyway.
Dh and I went for a walk after dinner and picked up the rest of the groceries I needed. Tomorrow will be a good day, I have the meals planned. I also need to pack for the next two days.
While out it occurred to me that parking well outside Toronto and taking the train in will cost us over $60 so we should just pay parking at the hotel. Except it is valet only (which we don't like) and $47 plus taxes and tip. So now we can't decide whether to drive the car into the city or not. It would mean taking food for me would be possible/easier. I'm already traveling with a yoga mat and my instruments of torture (straps I need for my physio) so we'll have a huge suitcase for a one night stay. On the other hand, I have dh to carry it for me so we could manage a backpack cooler as well.

Aw, thank you for the birthday wishes dear friends! It is nice to come here and see your greetings. It was so nice to get birthday greetings throughout the day in my inbox via fb too.
Especially since it took a while for people in this house to realize today was, in fact, my birthday.
We did not celebrate today. We are behind; we still need to celebrate dd17's birthday. We are still coordinating 7 schedules for each birthday celebration, which is kind of hard with ds out of town for the summer. He'll be home next weekend, so we are thinking of doing dd17's birthday celebration then.
Dh did polish the stainless steel appliances and washed most of the main walls in the house as a birthday gift, which was sweet of him. With the dogs and small children (baby J + small group kids) here regularly, the walls get pretty bad.
We had steady rain all day today too, Dee. I think it stopped about 5. I spent the day shopping, cooking, and cleaning for small group tonight.
I am very tired and am going to bed.

Hello, villagers ~
Checking in. I've tried to keep up with reading most days, but haven't had time to write. I haven't had a bad week, but it hasn't been particularly good either.
Work: Going well, but zapping all of my energy.
LEGO Club: Another fun meeting but
(1) continued stress that I never know for sure if the other volunteer is going to show up to help, and
(2) the kids whose names were drawn for our 2 cool prizes were not there so I didn't get to see if they were excited about winning.
During our planning meeting, we talked about making the prizes "must be present to win." Ultimately we decided that it wouldn't be fair to the kids, who don't really have a choice if their parents will let them come every time. All we could do was call the winners and leave the prizes with the staff at the counter. Unfortunately, it looks like no one thought to take photos when the kids picked up the prizes.
The Dreaded Volunteer Project: No progress.
The House: Total C.H.A.O.S.
This was my Saturday to work at the library. I had to work straight through again with no snack break. I did take an energy bar with me but just no chance to even open it. DH was mowing when I finally got home but he stopped soon after so we could go to the diner for lunch/supper.
I grabbed a quick nap after supper and now I'm wide awake. Caught up on a few general chores this evening.
I'm going to do some late-night decluttering to clear a large horizontal work space, hoping that will set me up to jump into The Dreaded Project tomorrow.
