Popping in on my lunch break.

((Twins)) You are caring for a lot of people, for sure. I wish the best for your dd, whatever you all decide. I hope this has been a good experience for her so far! The beach vacation sounds fun.

I like Kathryn's advice!

More done:
- a.m. routine is completely done, including making the bed.
- lol washed and in the dryer
- play room tidied
- ds' room dusted and wiped down
- one bed in ds room has half the bedding on it
- living room is tidy
- granite island hot spot is clear
- pulled bedding out of the MBR cedar chest

After lunch:
- dust/wipe down play room surfaces
- clean bathroom down
- vacuum downstairs
- lay out bedding on the beds; putting it on is lower priority right now
- touch up bathroom up here
- vacuum living room rug; there are cat allergies arriving tonight, and Lily has a habit of rolling around on this rug and leaving her long Ragdoll cat hair behind. The Roomba helps but doesn't get it all.

A glass of water and then off I go again.

Some progress:

1. dryer vent is upgraded to include a flap so the smell from other units' dryers won't drift into my laundry room. Not a big issue for me, it actually kept my laundry room smelling good and yet I wasn't allergic to it but for someone with worse allergies than me, I could see it would be a problem.

2. laundry room cleaned up (a lot of lint fell) and two loads of laundry are in progress.

3. planned my outfit for Sunday (need a costume.)

4. vacuumed the balcony, watered the plants, cleaned the table off.

5. emptied garbage from all the apartment.

6. washed up breakfast dishes

7. found dh's hiking towel. It was smaller than we remembered so was missed when we looked for it a few weeks ago. Also, I remembered it as tan (ds's is tan) and it is bright blue.

Lunch time!

Twins', isn't there someone you could call for the "scoop" on what to wear, so you can quit wondering? If not a family member, the hotel itself might have someone who knows in advance. Sounds like your sister needs to be told often to slow down with swallowing - I know that must worry you.

Nice to see you, RunKitty.

Today was dd's meeting at government center. Lots of city driving for me, but since this was her second meeting there, I feel like I have it down pat now, and confident with the pickup area. She waited for pickup only a minute. She was more confident for the purse search and body scanner this time, too.

Managed an errand out at the vitamin store.

More progress, all minor but satisfying piddly stuff:

1. Finished the book I was reading while eating lunch
2. Hung up second load of laundry to dry, folded and put away previous loads (one from yesterday.)
3. Opened mail from previous days
4. Gathered up recycle
5. Took recycle to garbage room
6. Took pile of stuff to the giveaway shelf
7. Met up with dh in the garage (coincidence) and so we picked up mail and walked over to the rental office to see about getting a spot in the bike room (have to wait until Monday.)

Nancy, I'm struggling because there's so little time for any routines. Hard hard outside work taking all my time these days.

I need a nap really bad. But helper is still here and DH is off seeing someone so I'm "on duty". I am persevering to get through all this work.

Have scrubbed, rinsed and scrubbed & rinsed again all the white clothes. They're in wash now with lots of soap and bleach in extra long cycle plus pre-soak. This whole batch of clothes might now be strictly dirty-work clothes. We'll see. Colored clothes are next. I washed the insoles of 2 pairs of shoes and they're out on the porch drying.

What a dirty job this was. Even though I took my shoes off as I came and went inside/outside my socks were just as dirty. And DH can't take his off like that...so every inch of everything needs cleaned. The porches of course need hosed and the furniture washed because as we sat there on and off our sweat and dirt got all over the arms of the chairs. All my throw rugs need washed. And all of this needs done at the same time or it'll be tracked all over again. Sigh.... looking for Elizabeth, I'm more than ready to change these floors for her toilets!

Nice to see RunKitty here again!

Oh, Harmony, you make me tired just reading your post. :?

I've been tackling different little jobs trying to stay active/busy. It's just plain rainy day here. Dh, dd and I are going to the pub for supper. DDIL#2 had talked to dd earlier about bringing dinner out from their house -she's home today. But dd told her not to today. It's just too nasty to try to eat at anyone's RV. Certainly can't sit outside.

Tomorrow is dgs2's 3rd birthday -having his party at DS-A's on Sunday. I need to get out and get him some 'tools' for his birthday at some point before Sunday. He was totally taken with dd's set of tools yesterday. He was 'measuring' all the fish he caught. (It's catch & release here).
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

I got home maybe 30 minutes ago, did some catching up online. I am in a crabby mood. Made a comment on a genealogy Facebook group that I've deleted now. Shouldn't have gone there.

I am in a crabby mood, tho. Going to eat something before I head out in a little less than an hour for stamp camp tonight.

I have certainly not been ANYTHING like "you ladies" today. (See J&C if you don't understand that reference.)

I have just lain around and played Solitaire and looked at FB all day. I went to bed w/a headache and have kept it pretty much all day, in spite of two doses of Aleve, and last night I was a little nauseous, too, and I've just been a lazy slug all day long.

I did manage to answer the phone when the lady from L owe's called... dishwasher is in and installer will call to schedule time to do that.
I made hotel reservations for festival in ddil's hometown, talked to her dbro on the phone (he works at the hotel there.)
I called the body shop and left a message * again * on the phone. (I am suspecting that this guy is one of those of whom my late high school psychology teacher described by saying, "If you don't want to work, don't hire out!"
I answered the phone when dbil called, to make appt w/him to sign deeds, go to courthouse and record, and go to insurance office next week.

Then I went back to bed. ;)

But I am thinking about this day and how it could have gone better...
I know if I had done just a few things differently, I would be in much better shape right now.
I should have
* exercised first thing, just the 5 minute stretches helps my mind and body wake up
* gone out to walk OR s2s immediately
* started on a glass of ice water immediately after breakfast (I don't really like water on an empty stomach, but I should probably try that, too.)
* done my Bible reading while eating breakfast, rather than FB and Solitaire

I KNOW those four little routines have the power to change my whole day, so why don't I do them???

And then I complain and criticize people 20 years younger than me, or 20 years older than me, who don't seem to "get it." When I, who should be MOST able to manage these things, am obviously, like the Apostle Paul, chief among sinners.

At any rate, here at 4:00 pm, I am drinking water, and I will go do the stretches, take my shower, and read my Bible. It is never to late to improve the day, right?
I will cuop better later.
Tomorrow is another day.
