This is the first round for the year.

The weather is getting nice so quick trips outdoors won't be bad.

This week is outdoors but across the country it is so hot it may not work for you.

Instead you may want to swap out for one of the focus areas ahead:

kitchen 8/2/2010
living room 8/9/2010
dining room 8/16/2010

If you decide to work outdoors please be careful drink plenty of fluids and watch for signs that you are overheated.

I've been doing a bit of out doors stuff in the mornings;
and then I like to do the storage area in the basement when it's so hot out side.
Kitchen dining area is a great idea too!
Seems to always need some work around here on that area!

We hired a painter and have had the front porch, side door and storage barn painted. He truly wanted the work and was used to the heat, and so this worked out great but I am not going out into the heat. "Supervising" was about all I could handle. He cleaned and bleached the porch surfaces first and used a mildew resistant paint. Also replaced some fascia board. It feels really good to know we're going into autumn with a clean fresh entryway for guests and pleasant place to let someone sit down to enjoy the out-of-doors here. Also the barn is protected from elements better now.

This is the final round. Take time to work outside this week before the weather gets too cold.

dharriet.. how wonderful you had someone paint all that in summer... great great work. I bet it looks beautiful.

for me this week after family comes over: put covers on chairs, bring umbrella in, bring pots in. plant "some" bulbs.. lol I have to write it as I tend to get carried away. drain hoses and bring inside.
it is always a joy to be here with you!

I cleaned off the patio table,
today the wind came up and has blown off the table cloth so that's next!
Will be putting it and the table plus the glass top away for the season.
