That is a lot of vegetables, LadyM! Well -- it would be for me!!! I wish I liked more of a variety of vegetables. An iceberg lettuce mixed salad is about the best I do. I know that doesn't even really count! Tonight we will also have corn on the cob and stuffed potato skins, along with baked chicken breasts. And those are starchy vegetables, so they don't count, either. I'll add tangerine slices and almonds to my salad.

Sorry about the frustration with all the hoops you have to jump through for medical things.

I'm frustrated here over internet ticket sales hoops. We tried last night and this morning to get tickets to Braves games through their website, which is linked to T icketmaster. Both times message pops up: "T icketmaster is unable to process your order at this time; please make sure you are logged in to your account, or try again later."
FINALLY found a phone number... both last night and this morning, recording says: "T icketmaster phone service is not available at this time. Our business hours are 9:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m. your local time." GGRRRRRRRR!!!!
FINALLY found a phone number for Braves ticket office. Called them, explained the situation, VERY nice young lady took my order and said to check the MLB app in about an hour; tickets should be there. * WHEW * (Haven't checked yet, but certainly have more hope than I did a few hours ago.)

Then we got an email from Auburn saying parking pass (for A-day/spring game this Sat.) we received earlier was invalid; this was the correct pass.
Well, we got two earlier -- one for dbil's fancy tickets, one for dgrands "kids club" admission. Couldn't figure out which of the earlier ones was the invalid one. Didn't want to send the new one to dbil and confuse him. Called their ticket office. Apparently the new pass applies to the general admission tickets, but we weren't quite convinced the girl knew what she was talking about. DH said, dbil and his girlfriend will probably walk from the condo anyway.

(((Rose)))

Dh is certainly overwhelmed with all of the stuff we've been doing. He's in a bad mood anyway; arthritis pain is just constant, and he didn't sleep well either.

In addition to dealing with all THIS...
I have followed my first two rules; DAY 3, except I haven't done Bible reading. Maybe if I did, I wouldn't be in this MOOD.
* dh and I have run errands:
-- post office
-- drug store
-- Merle Norman make-up shop
I have
* addressed & signed two birthday cards
* dusted the dining room and guest bath.
(Plus, turned the shower curtain around. This falls under the heading of "How Long Did It Take Me to Figure THAT Out???" This shower curtain, for reasons I have no memory of, was hanging backwards. The hooks, I mean, were turned the wrong way, IMHO. Different than all my other shower curtains. It's just a clear/opaque liner, nothing fancy, but it bothered me that those hooks faced outward. I kept thinking I'd need to do them one by one to change it. Today it finally occurred to me that I could just lift the whole rod and turn the thing around. How stupid.)
* talked to crazy uncle on phone. He was in a bad mood too. Trying to get in touch with dmom; he may have a buyer for her car.

I am also battling depression today. Might put this in J&C. But it's kinda silly.
Dh has no customers today, so he is changing my tires back to my summers. YAY!
(Quote from Cathy)
The cobbler's wife finally has shoes, right? (That's what my dmom always said about the home repairs she needed my builder-dad to do for her! -- The cobbler's wife has no shoes.)

Twins, I'd love to just hide away in your office. I need a nap after dh's restless night.
Once he's away I'm giving out a great big sigh and heading upstairs!

That is so wonderful that you have a whole house generator, LadyM. My dmom has thought about getting one. We are expecting storms tonight. It feels sooo muggy out today.

Sending good wishes to Harriet!!! Four little boys and a puppy. I am in awe of you, Harriet!

Waving to Nancy!
Tomorrow is another day.

Insurance companies prefer that your tires don't get switched until after April 1st in Ontario. I'm actually pretty darn close to the first s/o (switch/over) this spring. 8-)

Even though we are in zone 7 (?) I think, for gardening, dh has already planted some rosemary plants and I think the potatoes might go in soon. A neighbour gave us 8 plants at no charge. We turned around and gave 2 of those plants to our closest neighbour.

Our neighbour is an electrician by trade. Seems he was bored today as well... he came over and switched 2 outdoor security lights for us. No charge. Of course, dh has done things for him for no charge as well. Dh also cleared the end of his driveway a few times this past winter.

It's muggy here too, Lucylee and we have a chance of strong storms. I'm with you on the internet issues right now. I'm going back to the state library next week for two days, and I accidently made a room reservation for tonight. And because the account is dh's, the emails don't come to me and I couldn't find a place on the website to cancel the silly thing. So I called dh and he's doing it. :D

Then....I went back to the website to make a reservation for next week, and made one for Tuesday night. (I can drive over Tuesday a.m. and drive home Wednesday evening.) And I looked back at it and there's one for Monday night that dh made for me....trying to help me. So I think I found the place to cancel Monday night and did it. But then dh was on the phone again telling me he took care of it.  So I'm going to wait a couple of hours and check the website to be sure it's right.

So hopefully that's squared away.

Home and took a minute or two to check on the protected places I put all purchased plants. They are all in wonderful moods, warm, rained-upon and no wind against them. Sun was probably on them earlier, but I wouldn't know when. Blind decision-making continues until I can spend time out there with them.

We had a pretty good day today, with no accidents and no particular panic with school situations. My main charge, the youngest, got all 7 stickers he was supposed to get. He's reading a book that is so much better than that awful cartoon-animals bad-spy one they have just made a movie of. This is something about a Fly. Still asking him to read much too difficult words, but at least it's worth having to ask for help to hear this story.

Tomorrow my workday starts at 8:40.

New random thing - across the yard came a baker's dozen of assorted guinea fowl. Evidently, truck-farming cousin has made a new purchase and didn't know that one does not "keep" guineas. Guineas "keep" their distance, lol. Puppy was a powerhouse on her chain in the yard and shooed them onward, but I hope not into the way of fox or vehicle. Oh well, science lesson for youngest, who was poised to assume these were bad, now thinks they are funny because old-hand Grandma knows. Much better outcome.

(They do speak quite harshly, however. I personally think guineas may have fowl mouths.)

SuperFly is the book. It's not great, but it's not making me crazy like Bad Guys did.

Oh Harriet, I remember guinea hens! I saw them lots of times as child. How amazing to have them walk through!

Guineas?! How fun to have them join your neighborhood and provide entertainment and life lessons.

I love being around guineas. The farm where DD10 spends so much time has a couple dozen guineas. They mix with the other animals without any problems. The 30+ GP dogs are trained to not react to the guinea/chickens/turkeys/peacocks and protect all the animals. (except for the rabbits....the GP dogs considered them to be food)

Progress made this afternoon. All flowers are now planted. The rabbit cage project is finished.

I'm eating another meal that feels too much to eat. Eating 12 oz of vegetables with a meal makes it seem like so much food. I assume I will get used to this eating plan, but for now it is a challenge.

Next up = church with family
Stay curious. Challenge assumptions. Success loves persistence.

Enjoyed reading Harriet's fowl-mouthed story.  Incidentally, I just looked them up to see a picture. Wow, they're big things. Very pretty. Not what I was thinking at all, I was picturing morning doves.

Hello everybody. Been missing in action around here. But surely thinking of you all. I don't know where my time has been going and what's been going on with me. My schedules are out the window at the moment. Last evening as I reflected on this I figured out that right now I am just taking a stay-cation.

I am loving having "woman company" in the house, someone to talk with and walk the aisles of a store with, someone to ride in the car with me and go to church and Bible Study with and sit at the kitchen table and do our studies with... and I have probably talked her ear off many times and she has listened patiently as we caught up many years together. So much difference than the way a husband does it, especially one who doesn't like to converse very much.

We are having fun, well at least I am. We went to Bingo at our group Sunday afternoon. Did not win, but still lots of fun. Would have loved to win the grand prize at the end: $50 gas station gift card. Wow. Sunny has attempted to teach us Mahjongg. We need more hours at that!

I am keeping up the house a bit at a time so it doesn't look like a mess around here, but the focus schedule, no I'm a bit behind. Today I got most of my desk caught up including a handful of phone calls about a name/amount I found on a report for a doctor and service we are sure isn't ours. Keeping my eye on that for another week or so to see if they fixed (after I called) or do we report an actual fraud. We don't recognize the names and none of DH's drs. say they ordered such a thing. First time that's ever happened to us. Some office somewhere get hacked? Gee I hope not. I put this in the same boat as game tickets or hotel reservations.

So I will get back as I can but in the meantime I'm thinking of you all.

Sunny, I know that's what I miss with dd23. Someone on the same wavelength about going out into the world, whether shopping practically or just enjoying. HRH has no idea that he's not being very helpful, he just can't figure out why I'm not through yet, lol.

We had cornbread and beans and watched the Perry I've been trying to get to. I knew it seemed to me we hadn't seen this one, and sure enough it was new to HRH, so that was a good call.

Kitchen spiffed. Alarm set. Hoping everyone in this direction has a good night's sleep.
