I'm sitting in front of a fan cooling down after playing in the garden for an hour. It is currently 94F with hot sun and no breeze. It was fun until the sweat was getting into my eyes. I watered while harvesting asparagus, tomatoes, peppers, onion, and strawberries.

We are having BLT with fresh tomatoes today. DD45 made & delivered two cobblers for Father's Day gift. One cobble is peach, and the other is pear. They are DH favorites so she nailed the gift he will enjoy.

I have cooled the house down 5 degrees below what we normal keep it in anticipation of the a/c not being able to keep up with cooling this afternoon. The a/c doesn't have any problem cooling the house until the outside temperature stays over 100 for hours.

There is covid going around in our tiny town. Three people I know have tested positive in the last 24 hours. I'm looking at the calendar and thinking.....they will have good immunity until Thanksgiving/Christmas time.

I finished the tedious job for the day - I was going to do it yesterday but I took a nap
I emptied and put away all the boxes of canned dog food and canned cat food. I give dry food in the am and dh loves to give them wet food at night. cats have dry food sitting out - I don't care for that but dh doesn't want to be bothered by the cats. I feed them wet food in the morning as they don't drink a lot of water. (aren't you inthralled )

Showered
food was good I made. Will tweak it a bit for bfast next time.
I am a bit cold with damp hair I am letting dry naturally.
Clothes are in dryer.
Just another day around here nothing to celebrate.

Walked the dog with my new to me high tech walking stick it has a spring in it!
I got a task done put dirt in three pots that needed it glad to have that done while the sun came out that is a blessing.
Watched hustle a bball movie not to bad if you like bball movies.
Back to my other movie.

Dinner & dishes done. gotta luv left overs!

dbil also went over to dstepson's for lunch, so that was a reminder for the 3 of their "old days" as 3 bachelors living together (can it be?) a quarter of a century ago.

Our lunch was good although, I bet, expensive. Dd won't tell. The adventurous middle 2 boys and I had mushrooms. I brought youngest back here with me but she picked him up when she dropped the 2 oldest off, so I hear happy computer booming.

They all gave HRH a model Enterprise for his present.

It is lovely here comparatively - only in the 80s for a high. We lose that to swelter again by Tues.

Dd brought me heavier-duty gloves and a pruner/trimmer scissor. I hope to attack the mystery poison vine this evening by cutting near the roots (trunks, in miniature?) that I have exposed and targeting with vinegar.

I have always owned pruners, tough gloves, so many items that during/after the move can't be located. Frustrating to borrow what I know I should already have, multi-years old.

Re: Perry
HRH does love to point out any not-quite-legit moves that Perry might make, and of course Lt. Tragg was often unamused. However, yes, definitely a (the?) standard-bearer for courtroom understanding for generations. I've often used the show as the example of the definition of "contending" a view, in studies about the women who were contending side-by-side with Paul in Phillipi. Everyone knows the show.

I know its frustrating having to borrow stuff that you know you have!
(When I can't find things, lately, I sing: There's a place for it (instead of us)- Somewhere a place it is! --I know the things are somewhere but, by golly, I have no idea where the stuff is hiding since we packed up).

I don't know why but I got a bit of a headache and fell asleep - I need to walk more. Very frustrating. I turned off the hose in front but everything looks lovely there. Not so for the back.
the young part of my brain wants to jump right out into the yard again but the reality of my body says - take a bit of time to wake up before digging again.

Got the boys home in time to greet a wet dog (it's bath day for her).

Home here in time for dd23 to arrive. I sent her home with new hair barrettes (I had made an A-River order of a 12-pack instead of choosing from the beautiful one-of-a-kinds on et sy that were calling to my pocketbook). There was enough variety to allow us each to choose favorites first. Also sent her with more healthy-smoothie fixin's.

She's trying to help me figure out how to run my life, as usual. She points out perfectionism and its results. She points out that she sees this because she has inherited it.

So the entertaining of all children is accounted for, except ds and family. DgdC was telling me about an event they were traveling to, and I think it was this weekend, but I can't remember. They showed me the calendar and I had the impression of Saturday being written-in, but don't remember Sunday. Hmmm... .. I'd better not call to ask, because I'd probably say, "Are ya'll going to let me get a nap, or what?" So that might not be good! (I'm tired after so much social.) I would rather doubt that both he and ddil have tomorrow off, but for all I know they are far away.

All of you who know so much about your family's plans amaze me. I often find out when the photos come, lol. Except with dd42 who is constantly calendaring.

I took a nap too, after our brunch out. It was enjoyable to spend some time with ds. Then I came home and napped while dh went to the pool for awhile. After having a late restaurant lunch we're just making our own supper when we're ready for it.

Dh is taking his nap now, in front of the TV.

I am looking for signs... but I think the harder one looks, maybe the less likely one is to see them.

Father's Day has been relatively calm; we went out to eat with ds and dgrands tonight. (DDIL was working.) I think I have all my Sunday tasks completed, but I never did change the sheets. Maybe tomorrow.

Harriet -- we are often in the dark about what ds/ddil are up to -- until they need babysitters! And they are often last-minute with their requests!

Sunday always leaves me exhausted -- church, dgs' music lesson, groceries, trash to the road, all the misc. stuff to end the week/start the new one.

This week -- I know I am taking dgs to swimming lessons tomorrow, and dgd to t-ball practice.
Tuesday -- election day.
Thursday -- haircut.
Friday/Saturday -- shared Nana duty with the other grandparents.
That's all I know that is absolute for the week ahead. Plus changing sheets, LOL!
