I'm thankful HRH and I could be here to be a landing spot and sounding board for his dmother after she had a harsh morning and came in here crying and shaking. Yipes. We hadn't realized she'd been helping so much as an extra caregiver for her brother that she had exhausted herself so much. Things were fine Tuesday night with a new med, but by today, according to the family, he began to have extreme anger. She and he had terrible words this morning and she left there saying she'd never return. Sigh.

I immediately gave her a carbonated drink, with my own dmother's admonition that you first check if someone needs Pepto, then check if they need Pepsi. That got a laugh and she gratefully took it. With something in her hand, something to do to open it, something cool to drink, she started calming and stopped shaking. On the chance she needed either sugar/calories or caffeine, maybe that covered it. Also, she had HRH to complain to (although he does not do well with tears), which helped.

Her phone started ringing, but we had to tell her because she was so shaken she didn't even realize. It was members of the family making sure she had gotten to us safely. One of them, on speaker phone, also started crying to HRH after he told her it would be okay for her to come here sometime too if she needed a break, and that he would let her hide. He meant it as a funny, but since that was evidently too nice a thing to say to an emotional person, he then had two crying ladies telling him their stories at the same time.

All in all, an eventful day so far. Further professional in-home health care is ordered for that household as of today. Dr has been made aware of the new medicine's effect. HRH says, well, it might be the meds or it might be that the two people are both hard to get along with, he's not sure. Everyone agrees that dmil has done enough to help over the last few days and should go to her own home and rest. I'll call her later this afternoon, although I'm sure that by then her other two children will be well aware.

, I wish the arm wasn't a concern for Mr. Harmony, but glad there's a plan and will send up a prayer that it works just as expected. Your description of no-nonsense urgency had me smiling. HRH's uncle, in his frustration, wouldn't eat for a nurse. She was worried about a bedsore. She told him with a serious face that if he didn't eat what the doctor said, she fully expected his butt to fall off. Strangely, that worked and he started eating. HRH said nurses have to know how to speak the language of their patients.

Checking in to say hello. It has been cloudy here most of the day so far. It is cooler at 78*, but feels humid. We are to have scattered thunderstorms for the next few days: maybe we will get actual rain or maybe not!

I was up early enough this morning to be first downstairs. Got my breakfast and washed a few dishes that were in the sink; ddil filled the dishwasher with the rest, so that's going now. I've been upstairs in my room so I could have my quiet time and do some bible study. I have also paid a couple of bills online. I do need to go to get a bite of lunch next.

Lady M, your DS13 sounds like my dgrd-H. She worries about everything if it isn't immediately settled. She worries over every assignment and exam, even though she is passing with flying colors!

((Harmony)) waiting is not fun! I can just hear that conversation your dh had with that office! I hope dh's test results and appointments come quickly now.

Dgrson-C still has my car. He had to borrow it two weeks ago as his truck needed some repairs to the starter. He has been afraid to drive it long distances because he doesn't want to get stuck away from family help. He knows if the truck breaks down locally he will be able to have someone pick him up and get his truck home to work on it, but if he is on his duty weekend, being in PA will make things more difficult. I will need my car next week for shopping and to pay a bill in person, so I will text him to let him know.

mom totally forgot the drama of the day yesterday by the time the evening had come. Good thing she went to the dentist. dd younger took her to dinner and to her the book store. her favorite author came out with another book so she was happy. She was exhausted by the time she got home and couldn't figure out why she was so tired. All those emotional feelings took a toll on her. Thank goodness she put it behind her already.

I found out our local garden shop is having their half off sale for all the people who shop there normally. Instead of $8.00 (7.99) for mushroom compost - it will $4.00 a large bag. what a blessing that is for me! I will go back tomorrow and get what I need for this weekend.

I took care of 4 errands - whew, glad they are done!

It''s humid outside - it's only 85' deg F. (my thermometer says 91) but the humidity is in the 60's - not sure if I want to go outside to work.

I still need to:
empty my car
separate laundry
do bills
sent out sympathy cards
I bought some nitrogen for the pumpkins.

weeding should be on the docket but
I think I will push that off until tomorrow morning

My third break of the day. Since my last break I have -
** chopped and packaged three big green salads.
** Took a couple electrolyte drinks to DS13 at his work site. While there I videoed him operating the backhoe. He is becoming proficient and smooth in operating it.
** make Manwich from scratch.
** took Micro to the groomer (hour drive)
** ate lunch with DS13 and listened to his morning activities. It is a good thing I trust his boss. He is teaching DS13 how to trim trees by being in the bucket (front end loader) with a chain saw. It is safer than using a ladder.
** unwrapped DS13 hand from his Sawzall owie. I had doctored it this morning and wrapped it with two types of bandages then an ace wrap over that, but DS13 is so active that it is hard to get it wrapped to stay. The good news is....it is healing well. I will wrap it again after his lunch break. I ordered some different bandages and they arrived in the mail today.
** DH and DMIL stopped by our home on their way to the city. DH finally convinced DMIL that she has enough money to buy what she needs. She been so confused that she thought that she couldn't afford to buy groceries. She doesn't want us spending money on her. DH showed DMIL her bank statement and she finally got it. She said, "You mean I can afford to buy groceries AND a new pair of shoes?" DH said, "You can buy whatever you want!" DMIL got a big smile and said she wanted to go shopping and so they are going on a shopping trip. Hopefully, the UTI meds will help with her confusion.

Dd called and we talked about dgd carpool. I asked dgd to help with gutters she had helped her mom with that but blew me off,
said she had made plans with a friend. Her ride for next Wed. suddenly evaporated as I have a conflict with my week that week.
Dd sounded like the wind came out of her sails when I let her know of my conflict.
Dgd will be able to use her pedal bike.
They have both not been there to help after agreeing to do that so...
hum... wonder why I changed my mind about my schedule.
Turns out I have a life after all! :!:

The world does not always revolve around them.
Being a teen and in stuff means some times you have to take responsibility to get yourself to and from the activities you
signed up for in my world any way that's how it was. t
I can not always be the rescuer not fair to me.
Especially today after having to come home and get the other rig because of the other person I did not know
was needed transported too. This was unscheduled and last minute notice cannot plan around that.
Someone did not show up at work so dd could not leave.

I heard of two other people in tears over fireworks noise as well this weekend.
Vacuum lr *
Sweep floors *
Dishes *
Layered casserole with out noodles is in the oven now. *
SO thankful that turned out good enough to take to a pot luck! Winner!

I worked upstairs writing and editing citations today. A lot. I'm hopeful that I'm getting there. I've been feeling discouraged.

Salmon for our dinner, with cherry tomatoes tossed with mozzarella, basil and, for me, garbanzo beans added to it. Not sure what other veggie we have?

Once they do demolition of kitchen, the stove and dishwasher go into the garage until reinstalled. The refrigerator can move into our dining room with an extension cord, so it's still usable.

Tomorrow we're looking at countertops at 10 and the decleaning lady will probably be here 9:15ish. I'm going to tell her to do what she can while we still have the house somewhat together. I also need to get groceries tomorrow, and dd has asked to borrow my car in the afternoon. I need to tell her that she has to be in a good mood when she sees me. She was in a MOOD today.

I trimmed all my basil and put in the refrigerator to process tomorrow into a slurry to freeze for the winter.

I am so thankful for family and for the fact that today we finally got to meet our first (Bio) great grandchild. We had a family gathering and a mini-shower for the new baby. Seemed so good to see our DGD and her dh as well. Haven't seen DGD in about a year. Gave her the final 2 bins of things we found in our storage unit that came from their house when our dgks were young. The tear jerker of the day was when DGS17 (DS-R/DDIL's) gave DGD a wrapped gift. Turned out to be one of Winnie the Pooh with a blanket hanging from his head. Our DD, Shelley, gave it to DGS when he was born. So new GDGD, Gwen, actually got a gift from her Grandma in Heaven. Don't think there was a dry eye. And my eyes aren't dry now that I write about it.

Oh Dee, such a sweet story.

I am taking a break here, a treat for me, and trying to get my head together what to do first, next, whatever. I'm not usually scattered like this, but...got up and it was evident either DH slept in or was having a bad morning and stuff is everywhere all over the kitchen, things he usually takes care of. He was super tired last evening, he went straight to bed after eating like he used to when he worked all the time. This job of his is doing him in I fear. I care and I'm sorry for his troubles but I can only do what I can do and he will have to deal with it. Maybe this is the way he learns not to take jobs like this.

Anyway, I was really tired yesterday also. I was tired from going through entire house, every folder, file, pile of papers, my desk, my purse, 2 wastecans of papers (that was fun  ) and NOT finding the original receipt for the printer we bought. Important as we have a maintenance/guarantee on this thing. Finally I settled and decided to do what I could about it. Went to the store and asked for duplicate receipt which he found and printed for me. Problem solved. Then I went to county offices and got a printed copy of his local license which expires every year in the fall. We get a post card notifying us and there is no way to print one out, so that is done now. And excursion into big Warehouse store to get vitamins that had DH all confused about his pill box yesterday.

A trip to another big store for groceries and whatever I was needing. Got all but the one thing I'd forgotten to take the label with me to get a duplicate of the last one I bought. I finally found a bra that fit nicely and wanted more.

While I was out DH came home and that drs. office called and talked with him. Biopsy came back BENIGN so we don't know what the lump is under his skin still there and at least we don't have to worry about anything further with that if it finally heals. He goes back in Nov anyway and they can deal with that then. DH did NOT ask what exactly the biopsy said it WAS sigh...see there's a reason they should deal with ME.

Anyway, I am dealing with the fallout from yesterday now. Got some of it done. DH's and my pill containers all fixed for next couple weeks. Stuff I didn't do from last night done and the early morning stuff fixed. What's next? Yesterday's LOL in drier, probably all wrinkled by now.

I didn't get to the library yesterday like I wanted. It was getting late and I was too tired from so much walking. Think I'll do that Tomorrow. DH, on top of all this work this week, has continuing education Saturday and Sunday. I am enjoying the quiet house without the TV going 24/7.

LOL Harriet, it's evident to us and your relatives that you and HRH are the go-to people in times of trouble! I endorse the Pepsi in a stressful time. I turn to coffee, which probably adds to my nerves, but somehow feels calming to me. And thanks for the shoe recommendation. Those were hugely expensive when they first came out, but as I notice more brands having those kinds of heels they are coming down in $. Course, I have this stubborn H who refuses to accept that anything other than velcro-strapped shoes will work for him. Right now he's using a pair which came from LDFather and they were old when given. Pieces keep falling off the soles and he will glue them back on... and yesterday they were clacking when walking so I asked... and later that evening he discovered the sole was only attached at the toe...and last night he glued it back on. These are the LAST velcro-strapped shoes known in existance...believe me we have looked... and if I can talk him into those other ones you recommended (even though they have laces or elastics) we will try those next!
