Re: Sorting out Saturday
Today is indeed a sorting day here! My dsister and dnephew are out for a few days, and they are packing up stuff like crazy over at dMum's!!! Of course, all this stuff comes...guess where...to be sorted. I'm trying to be ruthless, but I'm not very good at it...LOL I have almost two boxes for donation, a box of art supplies for dh's friend's sister and brother in law (both teachers) The art supplies are going in dh's car, since he's supposed to be meeting his friend for coffee on Monday. The donation stuff will go in my car to be dropped off later this morning. That's only the stuff that came out of MY car! Dson brought home a load of stuff in his RVR yesterday that also needs to be gone through. And......apparently there's still more over at the house! There will be several more boxes of arts/crafts supplies, and several more boxes to donate. Then I can start figuring out what's left after the first big sort. I also need to go through the stuff I already have here. I swear there's just about enough different stuff to open a H*bby L*bby! I think I'll have to stop over at the produce store today, too, to see if they have any more boxes.
So far, the critters have been fed, the dishes washed, the first lot of sorting finished, groceries ordered for pickup later this afternoon, and the cat box has been cleaned.
Next up:
- move full box for donation outside
- move full box of art stuff outside
- move both easels outside
- move cushions down to the den
- finish filling second donation box

Re: Sorting out Saturday
Glad to hear your reaction was "short-lived", Lady M. Though I'm sure those hours felt so much longer. I really need to go get mine.
Forgive me if I repeat myself from anything I wrote yesterday. Think I was in Zombie land. I slept off and on so much of the day yesterday. (Neither of us slept really at the hotel Thursday night). I'd fall asleep anywhere I sat yesterday -even in this computer chair. According to F itbit I got 11 hours/17 minutes last night even with all that dozing yesterday. I never got up once during the night until 6am. Read for a little bit and got up at 9:25am! Guess my body was absolutely spent!
Talked with dd for a little bit this morning. She was getting ready to go to her brother-in-law's funeral. She did tell me that the teenager who ran over the mother (and killed her) of one of her students who she's become very close to got a life sentence without possibility of parole. The other 3 teenagers with him have yet to stand trial. What a way to ruin lives.
Dh is attempting to work today but is 'stroking' it as much as he can. His gastro Dr's office called him Thursday morning to finally set up his appointment for his scan.
At first they said October 30th and he told him he'd be on his way (hopefully we say) to FL by then. They ended up setting up an appointment for October 3rd at 6:45am. Here we go with another big bill. This for the bleeding problem that we think has finally stopped. However his breathing is so much worse. He sees his GP Tuesday morning. Hoping he'll say he should see dh's cardiologist before August 30th. Not sure if the breathing is because of the Afib or his COPD or maybe a combination. Know it's worrying me big time and I try not to "worry" but pray instead.
It was so good to see CEO's visit to J&C yesterday. Going to look at her link and see if there's pages there I should print off.

Re: Sorting out Saturday
Forgot I wanted to mention that Dh had to go see the campmanager yesterday afternoon. It seems they've been in conversation with the 'new' owners and they wanted her to give dh a get well card from them and the whole staff -along with a sizeable gift card to our Pub here. Nice gesture and a very nice note included recognizing him for his years of help and great work here. Made him (and me) feel good for sure.
Spent the last 20 minutes or so updating the dates for Twins' upcoming remembrance dates/hoidays. Think I have them right now for the rest of this year -would you please check, Twins?

I am better not perfect, some hormonal happenings the heat being shut in is not helping.
I need to mow while it is cool out to get the fuel out of the mower to change mower blade.
Exercise will help, except allergues.

Re: Sorting out Saturday
Nice to see that post over there with the link. I have printed out an On My Mind list to use because I am struggling with all the things I WANT to do and am not accomplishing. Maybe this will help. I'm not very good about writing stuff down and not worrying or thinking about them.
Yesterday I went down to our business bank. They've changed/ upgraded all their systems. I never signed up for online anything with that bank because I knew DH couldn't manage it and I want him to be able to do things. Now that we're not busy and there are few checks going out every month it didn't seem important. But the one part of that I used no longer worked for me. I could phone in and get an amount to a check, but now they are telling me I'm inactive. Pffft! So I went down there and we tried to sign me up and get that all done in the office. But wasn't successful because I also changed the email addy. They had it set up for the one email company we have who is a royal pain to deal with. I have to wait a day for it to go through, and since it is the weekend, it might be 2 days. Sigh...no more statements in the mail. I'll have to print them out. I can't let that go, the CPA checks them.
While I was down that area of town I got the few things we needed at supermarket. Later we went to our little local beach. Floated around in the water for a good while and that felt wonderful. DH has determined he can't manage to get in or out of the big beach at the shore because of the surf. Legs aren't strong enough. Sigh...this is hard to accept. He says he will try if we have a day when the water is very very calm. People think the gulf doesn't have waves, because it's not the Atlantic...they are wrong! It was 99° and we weren't enjoying sitting there in our chairs after our swim so we just came home wet. I've just hung out the towels and suits after a quick wash.
I am trying to get caught up again on laundry and the kitchen needs attention and my bedroom. It is a small room and if it's the least messy I don't like it.
Couple phone calls need to be done next. What a Load of stuff ON MY MIND.
Blessed, thank you for the link to the caterpillars. That was interesting. I get the hornworms. Now I will know which not to get rid of. I think I've seen those moths, but I'm not sure. I will look closer if I think I have them.

Re: Sorting out Saturday
We just got off the phone with our investment counselor. Was really surprised when she called on a Saturday no less. Talked a lot about interest rates and changing some of our bank accounts to go there in a money market account. Interest rate still isn't wonderful like the 'old days' but still better than the banks give us. There's one bank I want to eliminate as we have to keep $2,000 in our checking to avoid monthly fees which are now near $20/month. We never go below that line but what use is it to us and I know they're making money off it for sure!
Dh was just in for his lunch. Says, "I'm taking it easy". Hope he's not fibbing though he sounded and looked pretty good. Not like he's often looked of late.

Re: Sorting out Saturday
Good morning afternoon! Folks are busy around here!
Sorry to hear of Pam's passing. I remember my first introduction to the SHE system -- a copy of Happiness File that I picked up at a library book sale. Don't remember how I found the old "red dress" boards, which is to say, how I found you!
Wow, that under the sink work sounds impressive, Cathy. I must admit, I've been wiping the cupboards while waiting for the microwave, and a little bit of time does make a difference. I'd have been intimidated to work inside the cupboards, though. Good for you!
Glad you are no longer weepy, Nancy! And I'm glad your side effects are over, LadyM!
Bsweet, I can just imagine how it's going with the sorting -- sounds like what we went through with DFIL's house. It can get overwhelming, but it's good to have the help. I've still got some boxes that haven't been put away a couple of years later. (OTOH, in some inaccessible corner, I've got a couple of boxes that haven't been unpacked since we moved here 20 years ago. I'm sure my missing jewelry box is in one of them, but, as I said, they're inaccessible. One of these days, I will have time to move all the things I need to move to get to them.)
Glad you had a lovely anniversary, Dee! I do hope the doctors can get your DH straightened out soon!
Ugh, Harmony! Banks are less and less helpful these days. Apparently even branch managers have no power any more; it's all automated corporate systems that must be done thus and so, and Heaven help us when they don't work!
I did have a productive day yesterday and am hoping for at least some productivity today despite a later start than I wanted. DH is actually home today -- no testing, no Scouts -- and I don't have anything concrete I can give him to do.
I should have planned better.
Going to do some payroll -- I've got less than 3 hours in this week, and I'd like to get 5 hours at the very least. Got a text from the expert last evening -- he's sending along some peach whiskey, which he recommends using in sweet tea. Just a little Southern hospitality long-distance, I guess!

Re: Sorting out Saturday
I have fielded a couple calls about and from DBro. Apparently DBro isn't answering his phone so a friend called me and ask, "Why isn't your brother answering his phone?" I told him DBro was on vacation. Friend said "Well, I want to buy some calves from him". I told him to wait until DBro got home. Not even an hour later, DBro called to let me know they were home. Yesterday DBro/DSisIL ate lunch in Deadwood, ND and decided they were ready to come home, so they drove 14 straight hours to arrive home at 3am. I told DBro he was the topic of the local coffee shop gathering this morning, so he needs to start answering his phone. #SmallTownLiving
I have things set up for August. Monthly calendar updated, spreadsheet created and printed. Daily/hourly schedule spreadsheet created and modified to match font, and monthly color. OneNote daily journal page template created and applied to August section. Homeschool assignments are on DS13 calendar, but I need to block off time on my time blocking spreadsheet for them. English, History, Math, Science, Spanish, Computer Tech are each assigned 30 minutes focus from me to work with him. It is a PITA to get everything set up but once it is done then it is easier to keep up with it on a daily/hourly basis.
Being sick yesterday has affected my BGlucose. It is noon and BG says it is still too high for me to eat. The body is fascinating to observe how things affect it.

Re: Sorting out Saturday
donation run done - I still had things to donate but I figured it was better to get rid of what was in my car instead of waiting for the perfect time.
went to the bank
dh is getting a new home card for my niece
kitchen is almost done - dishes are washing, counters are clean, stove is clean, put away is done, sink is clean but not polished
Next:
sweep, vacuum and rinse floor in kitchen
shower me - brush out knot in hair mmmm
put lawn chairs in car for just in case
bring water bottles
put rest of donations in car - hoping to stop by there on our way to party
flip laundry

Re: Sorting out Saturday
hello d lady
14 hours is a long ride but I bet they are glad to be home.
love that small town living statement!
yay on having things set up for August.
praying your blood levels even out!!!
hi d mystery pam's passing was so sad. Great lady! I love her sister pam as well. I think she is still living in Vancouver area. I started with pam and Peggy too!
I am so happy you had such a nice productive day yesterday!
nice thing about your dh not have a set plan is that he can come up with something he may not normally have time for!
southern hospitality
!!!
hi d dee glad you were able to talk to your banker.
glad he looks like he is feeling better today!
I am thrilled that your dh is so appreciated - he deserves it!
hi d harmony I am right with you!!! This morning I put everything on paper bc my stress level was overwhelming me lately. I tend to see that I am failing when things go out of control or that I can't do it all.
My goal is to cheer myself on for the things I could do rather than what I couldn't do. (hard for me)
I hope that the phone calls being done will ease your mind.
right now my inside garden is out of control - C.H.A.O.S. for sure.
trying to break it down to make the work doable.
hi d Nancy I am glad you are feeling a bit better!
hi d b is sweet! it is so hard to sort things. I think it's physical work as much as mental work.
cheering you on as you work
hello to everyone.
headed to the shower so I look presentable
