At least I will be able to make my morning coffee.
:D I am reminded of Dniece who lived in PA at the time but had just recently moved there. There was a big storm and they lost power. She went to her neighbor's with coffee mug in hand and said, "Those who have electricity make coffee for those who don't". At least she got to meet her new neighbors and got her coffee. :)

Glad this storm will blow its way out to sea, RR. I can't even imagine a storm of a hurricane's magnitude with all the rain you've gotten in the "sunshine" state of late. Know dd says their front yard has been a lake for some time now.

DD officially started school today with students back. She actually started last Wednesday. As schools start back, as is the case with Lady M's school district, I find myself thinking and praying for safety for all of them for this coming year (and beyond).

Love your wisdom, Lady M (and yours too, RR). I always say that as well, "You get what you give". When something seems a bit overwhelming I often do a 'step by step' list and before I know it -it's done!

took melatonin again last night but will not be taking that again if I can help it. I struggle with waking up then in the morning.

My hope today: (even if I would rather paint) is to do zone work in the garden before the weeds get out of hand.)
I also have to take time for summer fun. I saw the lake but I haven't been on the beach.

timer: get ready Freddy!
it is always a joy to be here with you!

DS14 closet progress - Touch up painting has been accomplished and it looks nice. I have an extremely basic painting goal.... paint to be where it should be and not be on all other places. After removing all the tape and paper, I vacuumed & washed everything that wasn't painted. This closet has an entry underneath our home, so the wooden floor has a removable part and then a piece of carpet to completely cover the closet floor. All that has been put into its place again and the final vacuum completed.

Beet seeds have germinated so I transplanted them into 16oz paper cups to let the seedlings get some roots before putting them outside in the heat. I like beetroots, but my primary purpose for growing them is for the beet greens.

DS14 is requesting Subway for lunch. Do I want to drive 10 miles to get it for the kids? hum.....I could combine it with a trip to the local grocery store so yes, I'll stop what I'm doing and do that. *POOF*

Hello all. I've been doing quiet things so far today. I need to get up and moving.

Just brought in the laundry. Yesterday we went to a BBQ with 8 from our small group. It was nice catching up with everybody. One guy looked like he'd aged quite a bit since we stopped meeting and that was only a few months ago. I brought the big fruit salad I made but one of the other women brought one too. She made a remark about me making one too and I told her oh, I asked the hostess and she said that was ok to bring. And she replied that her memory isn't great and she probably forgot. Oh well, we have a nice big bowl of fruit to eat and I'm enjoying that a lot.

Yesterday I reorganized a closet. Changed a bunch of hangers and moved the winter stuff out to another closet. I put like colors together. Think this is going to work better.

I am catching up my spreadsheets right now and then I have a project on my dining room table to tackle. Been trying to get to that for a couple days.

I have reviewed all the homeschool assignments prepared for DS14 to do tomorrow. A couple of assignments needed printing. The Spanish assignment had a mistake in the url link, but it was a quick fix. I repeated that link mistake in the next 6 weeks of Spanish assignments. Ack! ANYway, all the links work now.

I was thinking about you moving your 'winter' things, Harmony, and first thought it's almost time to get our heavier things out. Then I remembered it gets cooler much earlier up here. So I'll be wearing those fall things within the next few weeks.

I told dh I just don't feel like eating much of anything. Think the heat got to me today. Just finally turned on the AC for a while. At any rate we've decided that we're each having a big bowl of strawberry shortcake (if and when the strawberries & whipped cream thaw). I have frozen P illsbury biscuits that I can bake in the toaster oven. How's that for dinner? Even dh says he feels like his potassium is real low. Not sure what the case is with me. Just know I don't feel up to snuff.

Food is cooked. I've eaten a small meal.

I watched a funeral online. It is being held several states away. Some from our church sent notes sharing memories of her. The family read the notes at her funeral.

I have rested.
Caught up on the zoom study I missed.
A deer was in my backyard.
Checked the sprinkler I fixed temporarily is working, in case I am unable to find a replacement.

Also did some floors.
Feels like progress.
bs took a dip I am over that now.
Now nice classical music is on!

Actually strawberry shortcake was a very satisfying dinner. Gave us each a biscuit & a half, used a whole pint of strawberries and whipped cream. I'm pleasantly full and don't miss having a full meal.

Been toying with the idea of taking a golf cart ride around the campground, but I think we're both just happy staying inside.

DS-R & DDIL were here earlier. They usually come out mid-week to water their small garden.
