I'm more than upset over this.
I'm so sorry, Harmony! That stinks! My dcousins, children of my dcousin J, have a Christmas gag gift exchange where their gifts are all scavenged from the side of the road! That's what your dh needs to start, instead of placing things in your living room.

I feel that way about my dh and the kitchen decisions. Everytime I think we have something hammered out, it turns out I didn't understand what he thinks and I need to adjust what I've decided again. And he things I'm the one making all the decisions. Aaaargh!

motivation happens when you just start. Motivation comes when you build on your success
Blessed - Thanks for sharing this.

DD11 and I went to our local little grocery store. I needed canned fruit filling for the hand pie experiment. I will make the filling from scratch later but for now I just want to focus on learning to make the crust look decent. DD11 shopped & selected ingredients to make a pie. She is a lover of chocolate, so her pie creation has four kinds of chocolate.

DS14 is home eating Frito pie with the chili I made this morning. DH is with his DMom at her weekly hair appt.

I started watching the movie Endless Love 2 days ago. I don't like sitting for lengthy periods, so I watch a bit then hit pause and do something, repeat, repeat. I am within 10 minutes of the end of the movie so I'm going to sit and finish it.

Just ci: to say hello!
We are on our way to MS — about a 2.5 hour drive — to see ds and band play. Kinda hectic getting out of the house but all is well now.
Hope you’re all having a good day.

♪♫Happy Birthday, dear bittersweeeeeeeeet. ♪♫ Happy Birthday to you! ♪♫

How nice to have a sale so quickly, bittersweet.

Harmony
, if the space for a future chair were not a problem, you might choose to paint the stand neon pink and then tell everyone who sees it that your dh saw it and just loved it so much he had to have it. Take photo. Send to everyone. But then, I do like Mr. Harmony and feel kinda bad suggesting that. Could you talk him into allowing it to be an outdoor plant stand?

Today's big things here: 1) car to pick up from dealership and 2) new chair arrival.

What could go wrong?

Chair arrived early (boxed) without a glitch so I called dd42 to let her know she could choose any following time to take me to pick up the car.

What could go wrong?

HRH interrupted us with a new plan while I was on the phone, that at that moment - that very moment - dd and I needed to change our plans. We should drive out together in the truck instead, and exchange the car for the truck, leaving truck at dealership without appt. Ugh. This is a constant with him - thinking that since someone is doing him a favor, they should just do more favors while they're working on the first one.

But dd42 had a lot going on, including a Goodwill dropoff and a scheduled grocery pickup, so she was hoping to have a lot of input into our day, and be driving her own van with her rear conveniences for loading and unloading.

All this caused a fuss between me and HRH and pretty much ruined the unboxing and putting on legs of the chair. I had wanted to ask dd if some of the boys wanted to come help with the unveiling, and thought we would have fun, but the tension was way too high after that.

To keep peace, dd insisted the truck would work for her errands so we went to Goodwill first, on her planned later timetable.

What could go wrong?

We headed for the dealership when ... .. the truck started running rough and shut off! I was turning left out of Goodwill for the dealership so when I got it started, I turned right instead to head for a less stop-and-start route, so as to keep the engine revved as much as possible. That was a white-knuckle experience  because it was running rough the whole way and I had a foot on the brake and a foot on the accelerator. Yipes - I was torn between thinking HRH shouldn't have put me driving this vehicle today (his fault) and that there was no way I was going to admit to him the truck might turn out to need service like he said. Made it through one unavoidable large traffic intersection (with red light :? at the time), to the through-bay of the service center. I was so nervous by then, the car inspection paper the man gave me shook in my hand!

But we were okay, and we noticed as we drove away the man didn't seem to have trouble driving the truck out of the through-bay toward a parking space. Whew. Picking up the groceries in the car was fine.

Dd and one boy came over to look at the chair and it is deemed to fit right in with the LR. It is called a club chair and is wide enough to seem comfy. The style is very curvy and tucked, and the overall appearance is stocky femininity. So, I'm very pleased.

If I can avoid any more white-knuckle driving through intersections today, I'll be fine. But I need a nap.

Hello - hitting a tired spot here
I put most of the little bit of furniture back into 3 season room
I can't find the little ladder to put up the one curtain rod. (plus with dd older here she scoffs at me going onto a ladder).
kitchen is done (except floor isn't washed)
2 more loads of laundry done

hi d harriet! how nice to get a new chair! do you have a link to what it looks like - I love seeing happy decorating.
I am so sorry the truck caused you problems!!! So scary!!!

"there was no way I was going to admit to him the truck might turn out to need service like he said" smart woman.

go take that nap and enjoy it! your nerves were rattled enough - time to sit in that nice comfy chair.

my dh says, when it comes to favors: "they don't mind". I have tried to tell him that he would feel put upon and his response is always "nope" it's okay!"

dh finds the car stuff really important to the point where it causes a bit of a tiff if he expects the right now. He gets a little miffed bc he sees it as a huge issue that needs to be taken care of right away. He tends to forget to plan ahead with all of us and gets flustered that we may not see the importance like he does - it usually more that he wants to get it done now and generally is not that important. . We have all tried to help him understand asking ahead to make sure we are free but he forgets. If it has happens, that he has been right about the car, it makes his position even more paramount.

hello d Lucy - have a safe and happy drive!
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Had a park-wide yard sale today. We only put out 2 things with prices on them. First was our Toaster Oven which was practically brand new. I took Blessed's quote from the other day about finding things to make our home easier to live in. That sold fairly rapidly. We decided last night that we really don't use it -maybe 3 or 4 times in all the time we've had it. And of course it was taking up room on our hutch counter. So much nicer having room there. We also decided that the canisters we have there we'll take to FL later on this fall. The other thing is an RV vacuum system. We bought it years ago and rarely used it. So far it hasn't sold. I may list it on our "Pond Peeps" site. See if we get any bites.

This sat here for probably 45 minutes. I took dh up outside the gate to meet DDIL-A. She's taking dh to the races tonight. It's only about 6-7 miles away. Told him to call me if he wants to come home before dark. I'm not driving that road after dark for sure unless absolutely necessary.

Now to decide what I'll have for dinner. Still have a little bit of Chicken French & pasta left over from last night.

It's very hot out (for us) 92. Stopped on the way back to take a peek at dd's deck. DSsoninlaw pressure washed it and put 2 coats of stain on this week. She left an envelope with us to pay him so he's paid.

May take a drive over to DS-R's later. I see he brought his truck with him. Think he said something about possibly pulling out his 5th wheel tomorrow instead of coming back later in the week to pick it up. They leave for a week's vacation at Myrtle Beach later next week.
