Re: Rewarding Monday PWYC
alrighty poor dogs need my attention but I still want to finish the 2 walls in family room,
wash the floors in these areas
I cleaned all the walls and railings - kick plate, cabinet fronts in the kitchen. I think I will have to put this job to a once a week occurrence.
the dirt and dust is amazing.
My family room is cleared of clutter. yay!!!!
the window washer is done and I have to put things back against the wall again in the 3 season room.

Re: Rewarding Monday PWYC
Homeschool is done. It wasn't our best day, but we got through it. DS14 alphabet diagnoses (adhd, ocd, odd) were in full bloom today and he couldn't maintain focus and was making constant noises. The algebra assignment was evaluating variables and DS14 couldn't stay focused long enough to follow the all the rules (order of operations, minus negatives, etc) so we just worked through each problem together instead of him doing them by himself. Thankfully this was an unusual day, and not his normal day.
DS14 has a new Tourette tic. This one is a different kind of tic than his previous tics. He told me about it a couple of days ago because he was frustrated (and embarrassed) that he couldn't stop doing it. This new tic is the need to touch edges. He walks through the house and touches the edges of the wall, edges of the furniture, etc. He does it so quickly that I don't know if people will notice if they aren't aware of this tic. As far as tics go, this one is not so bad. At least there is no physical pain or sound effects involved. Most of the tics only last a couple of months then disappear.
I am trying to decide whether I want to take a break or go play in the garden. I know I am a bit stressed from this morning so I think hands in the dirt would be a better stress reliever than sitting with feet up. Decision made.

(((HUGS))) for BOTH of you, (((LadyM))) & (((DS14))). Good for you on putting your foot down about the wrecked vehicle, I must say.
And ooohhh... OUCH... (((HUGS))) for Mr. Dee!!! Ooohhh... I hate wasps...
Waving to you ALL!!!
If I had posted the title for today's thread, knowing what I know now, I think I would have said: Just Another Manic Monday...
I got up a little before 7:00, got dgrands ready for school and dropped them off. DGS' line is quick and easy. DGD's took 16 minutes. That doesn't sound like much, but when you're moving one car length at a time, in a line that looks like it is endless... whew. It feels like FOREVER.
Came home, went back to bed... and I'm embarrassed to tell y'all what time I finally got OUT of bed again and s2s.
THEN... dh and I went out to drive the truck on its weekly outing, and go to the post office.
Nope... truck won't start.
Tried jumping it off w/Tahoe.
Nope... went to town, checked with garage, called AAA and now we are waiting for them to come tow it to the garage.
Oh well.
DS came by and got dgrands' stuff from the weekend; he is picking them up when school is out.
And that's my day so far... not especially rewarding.
I also renewed the OnStar account for the Tahoe just now, and I'm reading a book while waiting on the tow truck.
Laundry & bathrooms are on the cards for today but that will come later, if at all. This weekend just about wiped me out. I certainly dread football season if a one-day trip and three nights with dgrands does me this way.
Whew. I must be getting old...

Re: Rewarding Monday PWYC
Blessed - POTB for washing walls and floors.
I planted beets and squash seedlings that I had started indoors. I watered and pulled weeds until I accidentally got too close to a red hornet nest. WOW! They are protective of their nest so I took off running. I paused twice to look behind me and they were still coming so I ran inside and slammed the door shut. Thankfully I didn't get stung. I'll return with hornet spray when the sun is setting and the wind has calmed down.
I have 10 minutes before leaving to get DD11 from school.

I'm still working on this. Probably will be awhile. Might even need a trip back to Nashville. There's a lot of info in the third generation that I hadn't incorporated into the narrative.

Re: Rewarding Monday PWYC
So glad you weren't stung, Lady M. They seem to be especially aggressive this year. Heard of several being stung by 'ground bees'. Friend dressed in his 'bee suit' and removed this one and it had grown huge in just a very few days. He and dh found another one out in upper front of our RV. He sprayed them well and will come back another day to remove it. Dh had done a really good job on spraying this one nest, but he ended up with a very swollen hand and was itching all night.
We just had pasta and sauce that dneighbor made last week. Put in the freezer as we had other things we needed to eat up. YUMMY!
Supposedly it's raining here but I see/hear none.
