I heard this today: interesting.

"What is the root of these"(your)"excuses?"
"The excuses are based on legitimate challenges.
Even though the challenges are legitimate, it is still possible to make progress.
A challenge becomes an excuse when you let it prevent you from making any progress at all"
What can I do? What small thing can I do? What is the thing I can do and I am going to do that.
Doing the thing I can do helps me break down and break through what I thought I couldn't do. "

Homeschool is done. It had its moments but overall, it went well today.

DD46 put hash brown casserole ingredients in a pan yesterday and sent it home with us. I pulled it out of the refrigerator this morning only to find that DS14 has eaten about half of it before it was cooked! I guess raw potatoes are acceptable if they are covered in enough cheese? Anyway, I put the remaining half of the casserole in the oven to cook.

Next up = Cook a big pot of spaghetti and meat sauce for the family.

First chance I've had to get here today. We were out the door before 8am for dh's eye appointment. Very little change but he definitely needs new glasses anyway. Dr. told him to keep this as a backup. So went to fairly nearby Geneseo to W mart figuring we'd get both our sets ordered. Wrong. There has to be a licensed optometrist on duty and there's not one there until Wednesday. So I guess we'll make the trek back down there Wednesday and get that done.

Came home and fixed lunch and we both promptly went to sleep. Woke up to thunder (lots of it) and then an absolute downpour. Got probably near 1/2" in 10 minutes. I would not have wanted to be driving because you couldn't even see just sitting still.

Need to look up a couple of things on the computer for dh for his lab work and Covid test on Friday. The cardiologist's office gave us the one at the hospital nearby them. But I'm thinking we can go to the usual lab we go to which is only about 7/8 miles from us instead of 30.

Tomorrow I have a teleconference at 11 with my lawyer about the I kea case. Think she's going to give me a figure of what they might offer so we'll see.

Dh is planning to go to the fire department for their 2nd Monday meeting/dinner tonight. Think I'm going to use that time to move some things around in his part of the living area. Trying to make it more organized than it is.

So far our refrigerator seems to be working much better. I'm keeping an eye on it.

Hello everyone. We are having quite the day here. The clouds are overhead and I know it will be raining sometime this afternoon.

I went with DH to his cardiologist appointment. Before that happened that other Dr.'s office finally called and we scheduled his colonoscopy for a week Thursday. Since it's been so long since he's been there he has to have a telephone appointment a couple days before. If the gal had called back each time we called, we wouldn't have needed this appointment. Anyway, it is scheduled.

Got results from his stress test, everything still A-ok. Dr. is pleased and we talked over the ok for him to have his knee replaced. He said with the stress test, he'll ok it when we get a date. Good things to get settled today.

We stopped at 3 places on the way home looking at pavers for the border around the porch. Wasn't real satisfied with what we were finding, but the last place suggested loose stones with a border edging and we looked at those. So, new plan, a lot easier to do, cheaper and I think prettier. I picked the one that is little tiny seashells, a little very light grey and a lot of white. We will try to match that color with the texture/topping we're using on the slab.

We brought everything back in on the porch from the yard so DH can mow the grass. I'm all done in from the heat. It's only 87° but the humidity is really high and I'm wilted.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO HRH.♫ ♪

I am home again and worn out. From here to drugstore, then WF, then health dept then dh's office so they could fedex birth certificate and title to dd. DH forgot his wallet this a.m. and I was supposed to take it to him, and had forgotten it. So back home and wallet's not here. Stood still and thought and thought and I remembered putting it in the the big pocket that runs the length of my purse. I don't normally use it, and there it was. Back to his office, then went to p/u dress for wedding and it wasn't ready. Need to go back in the a.m. From there to mall for return of other dress, a walk through the nice department store there, and then trip to JJill. Last to Goodwill to drop off all the stuff in my car.

I did a bit of retail therapy walking through the department store. A navy purse to go with dress, and some blingy costume jewelry earrings.

Dd called along the way and I just parked the car and talked to her for awhile. She needs to set limits on how much she works, and attend to other things in her life!

When I got home I had emails from my mentor - we had a scheduled Zoom meeting at 2 and I missed it. Many apologies to her and rescheduled for next Monday. Truth is, I'm not getting much done.

I'm having an iced coffee while I regroup. I need to finish a.m. routine and make a list for tomorrow, and regroup for the rest of the afternoon.

Harmony, glad the cardiologist's report was good. You stay so busy taking care of your home - I know things must look great!

And Dee's attending to eye check up and dr appointments. So much going on, I hope you two can get away on time this year.

LadyM, yuck! Raw hash brown casserole? He'll eat anything, won't he?

I'm glad bw2 is having cool enough weather to get out in the garden. We're finally getting some cool weather here - don't think we get to 80 degrees today. Are your leaves falling yet?

I had a lot of tomatoes early but the plants gave out maybe a month ago. It was nice while it lasted. I think I'm getting some kind of fungus or wilt. I rotate between the two beds every year but have had it two years in a row late in the summer.

Happy Birthday to HRH!

making progress....

DH and I teamed up to replace the kitchen faucet. It was super easy. DH did the actual hands on under the sink while I read the instructions & handed the next part to him. Washing dishes always seemed like just something that needs to be done until we went a couple of days without a kitchen faucet. When I couldn't wash dishes my desire to be able to do that task immediately skyrocketed. Now it feels like a treat to wash dishes with a working faucet. I suspect this giddy feeling about washing dishes won't last and I'll soon be back to normal.

While I was cooking spaghetti/meat sauce for the family, I cooked liver & onions for myself. I drizzled ACV on cooked spinach as a side. It is 3:15p and this is the first thing I've eaten today.

I've accomplished everything on my PODA except for....
** 6pm Ladies Night. We are eating and making fall centerpieces.
** Micros Masterclass Day #3 study & homework (online 30 day class I'm taking)
** Plant Italian Parsley
I'm drinking my 2nd cup of coffee then I will get start on those.
