Sad at seeing all of the misinformation

I didn't have any meat thawed out & ready to cook, so I went to the local grocery store to check on sales. I found boneless pork ribs for $1.99 lb so that came home with me. It is in the Instant pot cooking now.

I accidentally called DDIL phone and immediately hung up. DDIL called me back because she saw my phone number pop up and go away. It was a spontaneous visit while we were both doing other things, but it turned out to be a huge blessing to me.

I noticed my Heart Rate Variable (HRV) is trending lower and is causing my daily stress score to fall. I added HRV to my 2022 habit tracking spreadsheet so I can track/analyze and hopefully find a cause/solution.

Harmony - I continue to be in awe at what you and DH know how to do. WOW!

Do you know how many days in a row or even over the last couple of months that you've had rain/thunder/lightning, Harmony? Know our phones constantly light up with weather alerts for that area of FL. We probably could turn them off but then would need to turn them back on (somehow) in a few weeks.

My flight is scheduled for 6 weeks from Saturday. Trying hard not to buy too many groceries. I do need to take stock and see what we can use up.

We went to W almart in Geneseo this morning to order new glasses for both of us. Took a long time for each of us. I was a little disgruntled by the fact that my glasses today w/frames and w/1 year warranty was $127. When I got new lenses for these in January (after my fall at I kea & they were badly scratched) were $285! Dh's were just about $100. Know total for both with the insurance was $195.

Stopped at T im H orton's to pick up lunch and pretty much brought it home. I did take a couple bites as it was then 1:30 and I was "Hangry". But now we probably won't eat much dinner. Think I have left over pulled pork & mashed potatoes. Not sure what I'll have with it. Maybe a small tossed salad. Sounds good to me.

I was watching dh's 'boss' and the other co-worker (who used to be the 'boss') mow lawns down through here. 2nd guy probably did 5 lawns (at least) to first guy's 3. BUT, that being said, guy #2 does his lickety split and dh says he's also the worst and the most dangerous. I do know many of the RVers complain when he does their lawns.

Just ordered a longer charger cord for dh for his Kindle. Evidently his is so short that it gives him problems. Think it came in a 2-pack so I'll take one to FL.

Sorry the steroid kept you awake, Lucylee. Dh's new inhaler med has 2mg of prednisone in it. Hoping this helps dh. Did read that it could take a few weeks before a difference is noticed. So we'll see. Dr had asked dh how he did back in May when they put him on prednisone for the severe congestion he had back then. He told him it was like a miracle drug. So he decided to try him on this different inhaler. He's been using A noro and Dr switched him to T relegy which has the prednisone in it. Told dh to let him know if he didn't detect any difference or "if it's expensive". Think at $495 it's a tad expensive -that's for 90-days. A noro right now with insurance is around $350 for 90-day.

Asked dh to please wear his mask at Wmart this morning and I wore mine. I explained that I simply didn't want to chance him getting a "Wmart cold" this close to his going into the hospital. Guess this same hospital was on lock down earlier. But the guy who had sent a video to a friend (and the friend called the police) was arrested in a town about 20 miles East of the hospital. Bet they're not 'friends' any more. But so glad he was apprehended before he could do any damage. I'm sure we'll never know how many incidents are prevented over a year's time because someboday "saw something/said something".

I haven't gotten anything productive done today.
I did rinse the counters, did a put away,washed some laundry
dh and I, (and dogs), went to the stone place but they were out of pea gravel - I came across 3 larkspurs and bought them, got coffee, went to the bank and paid dh back and got the tip for tomorrow's cleaning ladies, stopped at hardware store where they charged us $20 more then anywhere else for pea gravel, dh Brought in a broken screen, stopped at Olive gar den for soup and salad for tonights dinner.
I just got home.
It's 4:02 already!!!

next: pick tiny hand sized pumpkins for Sunday's gathering to give away.
pick up and put away so the landscapers can cut the grass tomorrow.

I need to do the checking account so that I can pay back dd older

I feel cranky - I will wallow in it and just enjoy the crankiness of it instead of fighting it.

I had a few tears and napped. It helped.
Did one session on the stat bike done.
Dishes are done & sinks cleaned in kitchen. Made a salad for dinner, took my vitamins.

I don’t know about Harmony, but we’ve had rain 6 out of 7 days a week for more than a month. Sweetie says he’s seen more rain in these last 6 weeks than he did in 20 years in AZ. I have to agree. We didn’t see this much rain when we were here last Sept, but hopefully this rain will get us out of the drought.

Actually, I stand corrected. The perpetrator of the lockdown at the local hospital was found at his home I guess -after that area was also under lockdown. Seems he ended up committing suicide. But he had wired a long gun to the front door so evidently they were very careful going inside as no one else was hurt.

Except that this a.m. I was up at 6:30 and we were on the road by 8:30 to ATL. Uneventful flight to New Orleans and we settled in at hotel. muffuletta with French bread for dinner. I am stuffed!

The shot still has me wired up tonight, but boy, it is working to my advantage. ALMOST finished with laundry. Still have to get sheets dry and back on the bed, and still need to iron a pair of shorts for dh for Saturday. Also need to wrap a baby gift for Sunday. Would like to s/s bathrooms.
DH said I was making him CRAZY because I was practically taking the clothes off his back to do laundry!

OH! BTW -- Dee -- are y'all Penn State or Pitt fans? (Is it the same way up there as it is here with Alabama & Auburn; everyone is for one or the other.)We may be cheering against each other this weekend! Our team (Auburn) plays Penn State Saturday, you know. I do not expect it to turn out well for us. We've won our first two, but neither of them were in the class with Penn State. We've got a long road ahead of us with this 2nd year coach.

I never did get the nap.Talked to dh's cousin, whose husband had a scary night in the hospital last night, and this morning found out all was well. He had a bowel blockage and some nurse/doctor? mentioned the word "mass" in discussing the CT scan, so they of course feared cancer. Turned out to be nothing. He's back home tonight.
Talked to dmom.
Finished taking notes from the Atomic Habits ebook and returned it to library. It was due tomorrow.
Washed dishes, swept kitchen.
Went to church, served bar-b-que sandwiches (ddil and I were blessed to be on food team with our local bbq restaurant owner!) cleaned up, attended Bible Study.

I have NOT completed my habits for tonight, YET, LadyM, but I am * not eating (although I am drinking Diet Dr. Pepper), and I am * definitely planning to get my walk away the pounds in before bedtime.

Sad about the lockdown and the suicide, Dee. But it was certainly good that the "friend" said something before others were hurt.
Yes, these steroids are kinda miracle drugs -- but that IS awfully expensive! Our old doctor used to say steroids don't CURE anything, but they make EVERYTHING feel better. Of course, they don't want you to take them too often. It had only been a little over 4 months since I had that shot in the spring, so I was kinda surprised they gave me one yesterday. But it certainly has helped.

I am also constantly amazed at what Mr. & Mrs. Harmony get done! I wish I could transport you (like in Star Trek) up here to get things taken care of at this house!

Cathy, I haven't seen much on tv the last couple days, but it is frustrating to know that some of what we see may not be a true representation of what is going on. I do plan to watch the funeral Monday.

Well, Lucylee, we certainly would know how to fix all your problems with your house. But the thing is, DH doesn't get up on roofs any more and I rarely did. And his arms don't go up any more, and he limps around with his foot rolling, and and... and then I try to help and I can barely get down and when I do then I can't get myself up. Yes, DH knows how to do practically everything. And he has tools for ALL of it. He's made a living doing this stuff all his life. And he still loves it.

So, after a rest, we were back at it and got all the plastic put up on the walls. Boy what a job. I was so tired by the end I could hardly wait to be done.

I don't know how many days in a row it's rained. I think we missed one day this week. It's been at least 5 or 6 days a week for many weeks now. There's certainly no drought here now. It usually hits RRose first then comes up and dumps on us. We have not had any threat of hurricanes though, so I shouldn't complain.

Tomorrow as early as possible we will put the fog coat down. It goes on all over everything evenly. Then after it's dry, DH changes the way it comes out of his hopper gun and does another coat and I'll have to use the bull float to knock it down (flatten the texture). Next day we paint over it. People use this around their pool decks sometimes. We had it at our last house. Our neighbors did theirs before they sold their house. But they hired it out. I'm beginning to think we should have too.

As far as electric bills go, ours is up a little bit but not like others have been saying. I think that's because there's only 2 of us and we put extra insulation stuff here when we built. I'm grateful it's not worse. The way people up here are complaining it could be lots worse. Now our taxes...they're UP a bunch. County Commissioners are talking about raising rates too. Raspberries for that.

Air is back into the moderate category yea!
I walked to the corner again after dinner.
Put on some nice soft music and worked on three entries in my guided journal. Glad for that progress.
So I did accomplish something worthwhile today.
It was humid after the rain 48% I am just not used to it had to turn on the fans.
