Well, we are in shorts and it is still hot here. Not terribly so, but kids are using personal fans around their necks and complaining… oh. My. Goodness.
The sun is too bright my eyes are watering I need sunglasses (2 pairs/$34 later) these don’t help I want dipping dots (other child — no i don’t want anything (back with dipping dots) I got dehydrated after you left I didn’t mean to spill my snow cone I’m hungry how long till halftime I want to sit in the middle on the way home I don’t like his outfit why did mommy pack it I have to use the bathroom I can’t eat anymore of this no! The spoon touched the bleacher

—- and next week, of course they will be upset if we say we aren’t coming back.

Lucylee, kids will be kids!

It is 93° here now. Blue skies. We had dark clouds and rain early last evening. So far so good. I am suspect about this storm. I remember once this summer (can't remember when) they made a BIG deal about a storm coming and it turned out to be nothing and went somewhere else. I'm sorta wondering if this will be the same. Already it's moved up to North of Tampa, although the cone is huge, but our porch furniture is still out in the back yard because of the painting. DH wanted to bring it back on the porch but I said no, lets not move it twice if we have to. Tomorrow we'll know better, certainly Monday. I've learned over the years not to jump through hoops until we know for sure there's a storm on the other side of that hoop.

We used to laugh (to ourselves) we had neighbors who had moved here from Massachusetts or somewhere and were totally unaware of how this all works. If the news said a bad storm might come they were out there in a flash putting up hurricane panels. 9 times out of 10 it turned out to be nothing. What we do here is just prepare what takes a few days to accomplish or might be too hard to do in a hurry, and we keep some supplies here all the time. Then we wait to hear for sure before we do the rest. We could work ourselves into a frazzle each time they say storm! if we wanted.

I did make some extra ice last evening; Friday I got groceries; today I did 3 LOL. 2 are hanging up, 1 is in the dryer. Rx's are here no need to order (that's something I would do right away if I needed anything. DH worked on one of the bolts, it was needing some epoxy. And now we wait to see how this is playing out.

I think Kathryn is West of where their storm is going. Probably Cathy too. At least I hope. Blessed, it looks more and more like your DMom and DD will be fine...unless everything changes. If it keeps drifting west the way it already has, we might just as well be concerned about Lucylee!

I told DD about your plan to freeze gallon jugs, RR, if they're needed in case power goes off there. She'd not thought of that before but began freezing too. She already had the suggested cup of frozen water, then a coin on top for when they're away so they could tell if and how long power might have gone out. It's probably a good idea for them to keep frozen jugs in the freezer as they understand a full freezer doesn't work as hard trying to stay freezing.

Just went around the corner to see a dfriend and got to hold her 3-month old grandson for a while as he slept away. Guess I still have the 'Grandmother' touch.

Trying to decide what to do for dinner. The campground is holding a spaghetti dinner 5-6 for Halloweeners. Then at 7 the Pub is holding a customer appreciation buffet. Yesterday was their last day for the season. They cook up everything they have left until it's gone. Owner does have another restaurant about 10 miles from here or so. We might venture over there between now and when it's time for us to leave.

I certainly hope those storms just fizzle out over the water, but will be watching for all of you!

Finally on our way home! We won, in OT. 17-14. But boy, it wasn’t pretty. I need a nap.

I saw a window of opportunity to get everyone's flu shot accomplished, so I jumped at the chance. We went to the city and got them done. I also was able to pick up DH last prescription needed for the next 90 days. Our trusted pharmacist recommended getting c19 tests while they are in stock. We got 40 of them at no cost to us (insurance pays). And DGS25 met us in the parking lot and paid back the money he borrowed a week ago.
Win! Win! Win! Win!

The kids are learning life skills today -

DD11 learned about taxes. I gave both kids $2 to get something to drink at Sam's while I went to pharmacy to fill out paperwork. DD11 went to the deli and ordered a $1 drink and a $1 charro. She forgot about the tax. The lady told her the cost was $2.18 but DD11 only had $2. DD11 panicked and started crying and the kind clerk paid the .18 for her.

DS14 learned about prioritizing his spending. He used all his money to upgrade the sound system in his pickup (adding amp and sub woofers). I reminded DS14 that his pickup tag is due this month. He started counting the days until the end of the month and figured out how he could make that happen (about $60).

I made battered and fried squash patties for lunch. I am the only one that loves them, so I only make this dish once a year. IMHO, it was sooo tasty.
DH suggested ordering pizza tonight. My daily nutrition score was already ruined today (fried food). Adding pizza to the day means I will see how low a nutrition score can go.

A friend said she got her flu shot yesterday and was not feeling well and went back to bed.
She had cancer treatments a while back.

I got dressed again picked up a few plums took em to the field for the critters.
Started the next knitting project.
Had lunch of sorts mostly broth.
I did not go back to bed but watched a documentary on navy war ships sat too long had to get up and move.
Hydrating now.

I wanted to say hello and that I am thinking of everyone here. I'm sorry for those who are going through heavy storms now or are preparing for one later on this coming week. I'm glad I don't have to do that any more. However, ddil keeps a fairly full pantry, especially going into the winter months, so we have plenty of food and supplies if our power goes out. We saw a prediction of that storm's track and it looks like we will be getting some rain and wind from it eventually.

There's not much news to tell with me. We just go along with day to day routines. Dgrdaughter has been working on table decorations etc. for her wedding in Nov. Their apartment lease is up as of Sep. 30th, so tomorrow they will be moving out and putting most of their furniture in storage. They will be moving their bedroom into the extra bedroom here until their new apartment opens up, probably at the end of the year.

Ddil's dmom and I have been meeting with a group of ladies to play mahjongg every Friday. It is a lot of fun to learn and we enjoy each others company.

Dee, I've been thinking of you and dh. I'm glad to hear he's feeling better. My dh took Eliquis and did much better than when he was on warfarin.

I still have to get my flu shot also.

Harmony, RRose, Blessed... wishing you and your dfamilies all well this coming week. I still have two dsons and families there and my dcousin and her dh all in the Tampa Bay area, so I'm worried for them also. When H. Irma went past our area it was a Cat 2. Our house was fine, no damage, but two sections of our fence in the back yard blew down. We were with no power for a week, so lost some food, but we were safe.

I will be sure to check in later...I have laundry to finish now.

I don't know WHEN I have been this tired. And we were home by 8:00 pm. I think the heat just gets me. Next week is a night game and then:

We have THREE WEEKS AT HOME!!! I mean WE stay home; the team travels.

Had a bit of a fever for a bit 99* on one thermometer that beeps the regular one says I'm normal.
The dog knew I was not feeling well and gave me extra luvins`!
Been taking it easy.
Tossed one thing of dried up alcohol wipes counting that for decluttering today.
Dinner is over.
Resting again now.
Read a bit in the new Bible study.
